Plants will rest regardless of the light cycle. Setup a time lapse camera and and you can watch the plants droop, then pick back up.

What he said they will perform dark functions even with the lights on , which means they are not using the light at this point and it’s waisted energy. I did photosynthesis studies in organic chemistry and plant biology and it was taught that 19 hours is about the peak capability of the photosynthesis. I’m trying to find a actual document that explains this and shows why…give me a moment I know it’s out there
Plants need the respiration period to complete the photosynthetic process , they will shut down and perform this regardless of your wishes and they are not using light when this happens. It’s generally accepted that plants need 6-8 hours for this but some plants like orchids grow faster under 24 he , seems there needs to be some cannabis specific studies on photosynthetic reactions and how much time the plant dedicates to each

I watch my plants droop their leaves a few minutes before lights out everyday
they need to rest at some point
I have always ran veg lights 14 on 10 off and flower lights 10 on 14 off
I pay for power so saving a couple bucks works 
fans and they are naked 400 watt bulbs you can them deep in the canopy
to grow hard buds

Yeah I use 600 watt lights and they can get close but not that close.
I run 18 on 6 off and 12/12 for bloom. If I’m growing seedling for outdoors I’ll have then on 15 off 9 to closer mimic the conditions they will be going into.

I am sure LEDs rock and will be building one soon
it amazed me what people did with HID lights and naked vertical hanging bulbs
I remember posting with Krusty on a Freedom Bucket Board and reading threads
of epic tree grows with vertical HID lights hanging everywhere naked 1000 watt MH/HPS
doing scary GPW numbers
as he said to me years ago " if it ain’t reflecting light it is absorbing it "

Mine has been suffering through my spending on growing stuff/seeds.
Its good seeing that and what youre doing and I look foward to seeing more. Were still living in our first house. Which is in the dead center of 2 cities in our state. Didnt realize how much I dont like being able to see what my neighbor is doing. Weve been looking everywhere to buy like 5+ Acres (Hopefully way more) of land then build a house.
Thank you for the stake advice! We have some bamboo stakes. Will get some vinyl ones so I dont have to worrry about it rotting.

so it begins
this is starting to have that Déjà vu feeling 
when I moved outside last spring everything I had going was out suppose to die
they did not and I had way too many ( a point of view) plants
so now it is looking like my room is almost dialed in and plants will live
so I will slow down on bean planting for a bit
but I did cut 30 clones as I needed to get the cloners up running and clones
rooting
wanted to plant beans but not yet
30 clones plants are plants so I am good for now
UBC Chemo cross after a trim
a cross of mine had six seeds and did want to lose it
Island sweet skunk the jacks 20-20-20 is working nicely

I will say any failure of your work is use error only four left
I did have 8 pop but I had a heater failure and had many seedling dampen off
from being water before lights out and no heater
I do feel bad but life goes on the 4 left are grow well

Hey @dequilo do you go in knowing that you are going kill plants? Or are you stressing the hell out off a bunch of plants to find the strongest genes. If that’s the case I gotta hand it to you that’s a brilliant way to go about it.
