I wanna try the fish and brown sugar one for FAA in the sealed sports team water cooler setup like some of you guys use, I’m on the lookout at the thrift stores for the right 1-3 gallon cooler and there’s a fish market near me that I can buy big bags of bones and heads from if I ask ahead, especially if they can be funky. But also $17 for a new one at Walmart isn’t exactly a stretch:

FAA is actually crazy. You’ll think you’re adding salt nutes.
I made a batch, and when it was done fermenting it just smelled sweet. Zero fish smell at all!
It took about 3-4 months to get there, and I loved using it, but I broke the glass jar it was in (not a fun clean up), and just haven’t made another one.

I recommend seeing if they can give you skin (if they skin them when they filet) and guts too! you’re gonna want a shitload of ice packs when you truck that across town.:face_vomiting:

Oh man, I feel so blessed on this regards…

For me the fish always comes to my doorstep :sunglasses:
That too from multiple sellers😉

We normally cook the fish and feed the intestines to the chickens though, but one day of i decide to take this route, it’s good to know that I have options LoL

The fish market is just a short bike ride away so no bus needed

May I ask what state you call home?

I’m in Massachusetts, part of why I like Neptunes Harvest and Coast of Maine products so much, they’re local.

Gotcha. I’ve lived in that coast, in Charlotte, Frederick (Maryland), Brooklyn, and Philadelphia.

Same! I lived a few years in the mid-late aughts on the Fishtown/Kensington border near the Berks stop in Philly (extremely fun times) and then in Woodside Queens and all over North Brooklyn

Some fun bedtime reading over a couple joints of Frogspawn and Blueberry x T1000:

“Source separated urine has the potential to be used as a fertiliser because of its nutrient content, availability and easy application to soils. The main nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and sulphur) occur in water-soluble ionic form and are therefore readily available for plant uptake (Schönning, 2006). The majority of the nutrients are excreted via urine (Schouw et al., 2002; Rose et al., 2015). From nitrogen about 90%, phosphorus 50–65% and potassium, 50–80% is excreted in urine (Lapid, 2008). In addition, urine contains Cl−, Na, Mg, Cu and other organic and inorganic compounds, which can be utilised for plant growth. The amount of nitrogen and phosphorus in urine varies depending on the diet, person and time of the day. For example, nitrogen present in urine can reach a concentration of up to 9 g N L−1, the concentration of phosphorus is around 0.7 g P L−1(Winker et al., 2009). In comparison with other household waste, urine contains considerably more nutrients than faeces, greywater and biodegradable suspended solids (Vinnerås and Jönsson, 2002; Pradhan, 2010).”

For the moment I just use some of this stuff occasionally and picked up that Neptunes Harvest to use very weakly indoors.

Anchovy extract, salt, fructose, hydrolyzed vegetable protein is delicious for me and my plants both

I posted a very similar fish sauce reference last May after giving some to my seedlings inside and the wife asking what the fuck stunk so bad
