Yeah, I wouldn’t spend a dime. I’d just let them know that you’re going to tell everyone possible, because it’s the principle of the matter and your reputation precedes you.
So im thinking this through and how it shook out, and this is why PP really sucks:
The original CC transaction was between the jerk and PP. PayPal simply “brokered” the transaction between the jerk and JPS.
So when the chargeback was initiated, it was actually a chargeback between the credit card issuer and PP. Guess what? Paypal has a user agreement with JPS (read the fine print, yeah) that gives them the right to just grab the money from JPS to pay back to the credi card issurer. Otherwise, since the actual transaction was between CC issuer and PayPal, ultimately PP would be on the hook for the chargeback.
They aren’t going to allow that to happen, and they have no real interest in defending your position, no matter how righteous it is. So PayPal just rolls over, takes your money to get the bank off their back, and moves on. And you (and i) pretty much gave them the right to do that when we signed their user agreement.

So many things about PayPal that are just egregious. I use any other service unless that’s the ONLY option. And even then, I’m looking for an alternative product/location. Cannot stand that company. Horrible policies.
