DrGonzos No More Nonsense, just Growing

Sadly I know imma be on the scope of new accounts…Or maybe he already had a premeditated
back burner account or maybe he was already "dual accounting " …
Like imagine if im Rabeats2093 but also I am icc#5s1…
Is there a way to block up address or is there no way to do that because the ip addresses r non direct for our safety ?
Just curious

The use of a VPN makes it difficult to find someone by IP but there are other tools. As has been said multiple times, this guy is not going to be able to sneak around with a new account. His writing would be recognized immediately. Anyone who has had a conversation with him would instantly recognize is writing style.

"Someone who acts a certain way …has certain ways to fool a fellow "

You know the PayPals and cashapps of the world are just thieves. Like I read in this thread, cash is king. I’ve sent, ah, moderate amounts of cash in the mail when I was doing bigger things, and never had a problem. Or even a postal money order. I’d rather pay a buck and a quarter for a money order slid into a comic book, or a few hundred dollar bills the same way, and not have to deal with these types of head aches.
This situation cements my old school practical thinking.

You can bounce an ip, easy. But you can’t change a MAC address, it’s burned into your system. But a new laptop or phone makes that dog hard to hunt.
I think the personal ID would be the best way. But even if he is sneaking in as we speak, he’ll see that is how we are trying to spot him by reading these posts. Which is why we should delete these threads.
I’d change the way I communicated, to maybe short and direct, if I knew someone were looking for my usual ramblings.
Just a thought.
He could already be here.

Well, search my earlier post and you’ll see his actual handwriting. That’s one tool for the box.

Lemonade Joe is on top of all that, I’m sure.

Something that makes me sad.

I have a thread / journal running right now that has 51 total replies but a thread about a lying, cheating, thieving deadbeat has 289 replies. Something just wrong about that. :upside_down_face:

Ya’ll come and post just once on my thread and then come back here.

LOL, I can change my MAC address in 30 seconds or even set it up so it randomize it. Nothing to it so that’s not really much help either unfortunately. Anyway this thread is nothing but bad juju. I come to OG to enjoy myself and associate with some great people. This thread is just one long unhappy thought so I will go now. Have a good night man and the rest of you OGers. :v:

I feel you Arriba|nullxnull , but OG is not Disneyland and knowing who is who is a good tool to avoid further problems coming, we have to face them before it’s too late … 2222...

Errrr… I think that MAC can also be altered/spoofed.
And also new MACs could be available with new USB-wifi interfaces.
Also with a Virtual appliance, the guests OS have a new MAC assigned.
Etc… etc…
With respect to the IP:
There is no need always of a VLAN, there is some webpages that made reroute navigating trought them.
Inclusive, in many countries, our provider gives us a dinamic IP, that change over time.

HG!

They had a smell to them. Like a BMW. Mercedes has that smell. I’m not sure if it’s the lead in the paint. The fiberglass insulation. It has that smell and I do agree I miss the older cars. I had a chance to get a four-door Datsun. It was a 70 model. Very low miles. The day that I was going to buy it. The guy was driving it, and it got totaled. I love American muscle cars or American family cars. But I do like the smaller ones also and imports. Cheap on gas. Plus imports come with everything. I remember having a magnum Datsun. It was the same thing as the Maxima. I had a big long six cylinder. Like they put in a 280s. It was fast. I never knew that they made power seats like that back then. The Americans had nothing on them. Cadillac Lincoln yes, but not the every day American car.

Umm, a Mac Address on a network interface device can be spoofed, correct. However, I stand by my statement that the MAC Address on a Network Interface Card, (NIC Card) is hard coded and cannot be changed.

Drivers may allow you to change one, but not the other.
I could be wrong, but when I was in MCP class before I went to MCSE, which was eons ago, I remembered that specifically being a thing. Never did get that MCSE. But did get CompTia A+, Network+ certifications, and MCP and MCSE training.

Lastly…

The work around to this can only be achieved by replacing the NIC Card, something hackers used to have a couple extra laying around…

Not to discount all these theories on how computer networking actually works, but many devices use spoofed MAC’s by default. For example my phone.

I mean go ahead and try spoofing your modem Mac back to your ISP and they might call you to chat, but its no crime.

my big concern is that this individual gathered information, including mailing addresses of how many OG members?
I will assume that my long standing safe addy is now compromised.
Also this individual offered to send me some seeds after the auction wrapped up and I accepted.
I will also assume that the HPxNL1 seeds he is sending me are fake so they will go straight into the trash when they arrive.

Maybe it’s time we ask @LemonadeJoe to lock this thread? I’m with u bro, no good really coming from leaving it active in my humble opinion as well, damage has been done and we all been warned and made aware of the fuckery

I too have my A+, Network + and CCNA  spoofing your Mac address does not change the hard coded MAC on the device itself. It changes what is broadcast. So while you are correct that you can’t change it, you change what is being broadcast to the network.

Aha! And that’s why I love this community! Learn something valuable every day. And, as I confessed, my training was long ago and technology has come a looonnngggg way! I mean, does anyone even remember what a dip switch was? I bet you do @DougDawson I think it’s awesome you have that much training, and even though I’m only a few years older than you, I’m sure you’re training was a lot more advanced than my seemingly outdated intel, Even if you got your certs 5 years after mine, I got into it when AOL was king, Netscape was cool, and the internet was pretty much just taking off.
My focus was networking security, passive IDS was my passion. Wish I’d pursued those skills further. But it got to the point that it seemed you had to chase so many onion skins, certs from Intel, Cisco, the wide variety of OSs, I looked at the future and it seemed to go on and on.
I’m still a DOS weenie at heart, haha!!
