If all of these are within the past 120 days, I can see this happening, but I’d assume you’ll eventually get your money back. Sucks though.
Common for a bank to provide “provisional credit” to the scammer while the chargeback is investigated. So that means the scammer now has all that money to spend again while the transactions are being investigated.
So it buys the scammer a couple of months, until they have to face the music of paying the bank back the provisional credit they spent which they shouldn’t have rec’d in the first place. But scammers never think about facing the music, they just figure they get a new scam down the road to cover this one.
I’m not suggesting that’s what is going on here, I have no idea. Just something you see a lot and constitutes credit card fraud, potentially a felony depending on amounts involved.
You just tell your card issuer that you haven’t looked at your statement for 4 months and now you see unauthorized transactions with these 2 payees. You tell them there are lots of other transactions on your statement which are valid, it’s only transactions with those 2 vendors that are fraudulent. Your card number must’ve been stolen online, sold on dark web, blah blah.
You make a very good point, Fuckin’ with a guys money is not to be taken lightly.
Here in Detroit that will get you lumped up pretty quickly, so there is that.
Not sayin’ he doesn’t already deserve a good thumpin’ IRL, but maybe he is not a thief just a fuck up, but time will tell.
Maybe you folks are right, he should not be allowed back here because of all the trouble that come with that.
I do not disagree, but to me a purposeful thief is one of the worst types of people.
I just hate to see him wrongly labeled as a lowly thief.
You know we have a ton of those types running round Detroit.
They are not thought of highly.
But after all one must call a spade a spade.
Well it seems to me all folks can do is wait and see. Because of past transgressions folks are quick to jump on this as him ripping folks off. I am a bit confused as to the length of time these charge backs cover. Taking back payments that were done almost a full year ago feels odd. Most times disputes come up it’s 90 days or 120 days max. Past they they tend to say it’s on you for not reporting an issue. All anyone can do now is wait and hopefully things get worked out and all moneys are returned.
There is an auction running right now? How come I don’t find these things? I feel like I’m fishing on Lake Ontario with the card in my fishfinder for Lake Superior. I feel lost.
