i like how i said it wasn’t nitro tox the whole time and probably wind related…never got more than 1 like…@ cannabissequoia comes on and validates my position and gets 6 likes? you guys are hard to like, you know that?!
The clawing showed up in a number of the Goji coop grows, I think it’s a strain specific nutrient preference as @Upstate says. Wind and light both impact how a plant uptakes nutrients, so yes they are also related. But, ultimately I think the reason for this in this case is that the goji has sativa leaning growth tendencies that don’t like high N inputs.
My recycled soil, water only goji’s did not really claw much. The exception was for my clones, they did go through a brief period of clawing when they were still just getting their roots started. I interpreted this as my soil being a little too hot at the time for the sensitive goji’s young undeveloped root systems. In my case it cleared up once the clones root systems got more established.
Heat too. My temps vary at different times of the year and when it’s too hot they use more water so you need to tweak the feed to compensate.
I’m a giant tossing wanker r kid what @cannabissequoia talks about is just my average Friday night though
Yes more heat, light, and wind push the plant to grow more and faster and uptake more nutrients, which some cannabis plants really love while others don’t always. From what I’ve seen the Goji’s don’t like to be pushed.
I run 3x3 no till organic bed. Four plants in it last run. One Goji f2 did the same claw. One day it was looking good, next day all clawed over and the other 3 strains/plants still looked fine. It stayed that way all through flower. I just figured it was too much N in flower. It looked great in the bed for veg and the first 2 weeks ish of flower. But then claw the rest of the time.
I’ve got 2 different goji F2s going this time in the same bed. They are looking great in veg right now, but we’ll see what happens when I flip to flower in a weekish
Last year I was growing kashmir and this year I am growing Peshawar. Both varieties really started sucking down the nitrogen when the heat came in.
It’s sort of a guessing game isn’t it? Do I go 1/2 strength? 3/4 strength?
I just let the plant tell me what it wants I suppose. Tip burn etc.
I usually feed till I see a tiny bit of tip burn. Then back it off a tiny bit. I can’t remember what strain it was I was growing a while back but it did fine with 2500ppm going in bitch was hungry. It’s not so much a guessing game. It’s a listening game just listening with your eyes
Yeah man. Burnt tips or yellowing lowers suggest their own courses of action.
I have only 2 guesses. It’s either transpiring from excessive heat combined with too much water or nitrogen toxicity.
Oh and you guys… wind burn would make the leaves crunchy
Not that first day or 2…takes time before leaf gets desiccated
@Foreigner Bro, please stop using Miracle Gro on your tomatoes. Monsanto and GMO is literally killing our planet. I used a bag of compost and some organic Agro-Thrive on mine and my tomatoes grew like crazy. Honestly, you don’t need that shit. Miracle gro, bonnie plants, scotts and ortho brands are all Monsanto. Please, we all share this planet, use anything else.
up it to 6.5 flush with light nutes could be lock out
It looks like it’s been two days, the leaves would be crunchy by now if it were wind burn.
Why dont you ask him for an update
Well we are in their thread. If they want to update us they will, I suppose. Some peeps, join only to ask a question then poof when they get an answer as well
Oh that’s nothing…other times people come in, declare shit, then find out about the extenuating circumstances
I agree not being windburn and possible N toxicity or nutrient lockout , I would also flush as suggested, but just pHed water and check then the slurry EC. If high there could be a salts buildup, I would lower nutes and see how it reacts …
I hardly think my 4 tomato plants are worthy of this attention.
