Federal legalization in the USA, what does the future hold for cannabis?

dude if that’s busting your balls it’s a good thing we’re not in real life. it was a tad sarcastic but not insulting in any way, shape, or form. if you took offense to it that badly, just know that it was intended as a poke, something i do to folks that i like when i’m interacting. perhaps i need to rethink my actions. perhaps you need to rethink your reactions to my actions. perhaps we both need to. perhaps neither of us need to. what was i talking about again?

it took away the rights of half the adult population, but sure, i guess you could say that it affirmed states rights. they also used that excuse for the civil war though, and it could apply in the same way here. misogyny instead of racism, i guess it could work.

For the record to me “Why do you bust my balls” means “Why are you giving me a hard time.” AKA giving me shit…LOL

I did not take it badly, at least I did not think I did.
Just wondering why?

Internet chat is very cold, and I am used to having my balls busted in real life, I usually take it well and bust a few balls myself.

Maybe in person, my reaction would have been different.
I have noticed I have become a bit more sensitive lately.
But then again there are usually several members here who seem to ban together to bust my balls on a regular basis so that could have something to do with it.

Also the name calling starts soon after that so maybe I was expecting that to be next.
My apologies for overreacting,
I will try and rethink my reactions…at least until the name calling begins anyhow.
I am a pretty light hearted guy in real life, but when a group bans together and starts with the personal attacks, I take it personally…LOL

Pisses me off how it has been used to deliberately marginalize and mass incarcerate certain ethnic groups to mask obvious racism.

I think you tend to paint things with a very broad brush sometimes @shag. Many people will stand by and do nothing when they see something wrong. Been that way since the dawn of the human species. Many won’t stand up due to their own fear and its hard to judge them without looking at each individuals circumstances.

I also think there are many that will stand up when they see something wrong. I have stood up against many injustices in my life and that won’t change. There are good folks all around, you just have to watch for them.

I think one of the things you run into allot is seeing folks feeling these threads are about you. I feel this is because you tend to repeat the same things over and over to get your point across. You become the dominant poster in these threads so it’s not strange for some to look at it like it’s about you.

I like you, @shag, and you are a passionate poster who always stands up for what you perceive as right. I can appreciate that. Keep it up bud. :v:

Not even about ethnicity, you have long hair, skateboard, the type of music you listen to, the clothes you wear, tattoos, piercings, etc. Etc. They target people who are a little different. I figured that out a long time ago, I dress like I do cause the police just ignore me. I used to be more of a surfer punk long hair and all, cops always used to hassle me. Now I wear jeans, cut my hair wear Carhartt T shirts, grew a beard, I’m now invisible to cops. Just like black people, the ones dressing all gangster get it way worse than the ones who dress more respectable. When’s the last time you seen them harassing a black dude in a suit? Now hoodie, baggy clothes, loud rap music, doo rags, they getting hassled like all hell.

It’s really all about first impressions. I haven’t become anymore of a square, way back I would grow a couple plants from Mexican brick weed, now I grow more weed and better weed and I’ll die an outlaw. Until they fully legalize I’m going to do my thing, I mean I’ll no longer be an outlaw then, just an owner of a coffee shop and greenhouses. Kind of a dream, I want to run an Amsterdam style coffee shop and have a greenhouse right out back, all organic grown on site. The biggest baddest corporation couldn’t compete much. Be like a local bar only everyone gets along.

^ this is basically why I stopped believing in blue/left politics - the way to stop the big scary overreaching businesses isn’t to have a big scary overreaching gummint.

the correct way is to foster a competetive environment for business. they keep eachother in check.

sure, in the movies or a book maybe. in real life, without regulation they tend to band together and form monopolies. and with the benefit of not paying taxes you tend to attract criminals, aka evangelists with mega-churches. but that also has an analogy somewhere that i forgot from an economics class years ago too that is supposed to work differently.

When I was underage I used to wear a shirt and tie and go to the liquor store in the financial district at 5:30 pm, blend in with the after work crowd, and get my liquor. Worked every time.
