First OG Diary_Purple Punch & Afghan x Northern Lights x Auto & GLO F2

hello OG, trust you are all keeping well.

So then, we are on now on day 71, these ladies are running pretty long, I was expecting the Pure Red CBD and the Boomstick to have been done by now, no real dramas other than my timings for the next round of flavours gets pushed back.

So then, boring stuff first - ladies are drinking some serious amounts right now, between the 4 of them the res is reducing by 13litres per day, the res is made up of Bloom A&B and that’s it at the moment and that is giving an EC is 1.6 - this is the first time I have got to the manufacturers dosing amounts as well, maybe because I cut out all the other crap.

The temps are all good and stable 23 to 25.5, with RH sitting flat at 35% which is a bonus considering how busy it is in the tent currently.

The Pure Red - hoping she will be done soon so I can get some better air movement. She has been ‘lazy’ throughout, but has filled out to an acceptable level and her trichomes are starting to fade to milk.

The Boomstick - shame she has been left behind really, getting the least light being so much smaller than everything else, this said she is looking nice and healthy and is giving out an almighty stench, her parentage comes from a line of stinky strains, so I do expect her to push the carbon filter to its limits.

Trichomes & Cream - she is lovely little lady - she has startedfattening up and as a result I have had to remove some of her branches just to get some air moving. She smells sweet, very sweet and has a special amount if Trichomes on her - she has time to go, and will benefit from the Pure Rex being removed.

Last up the Mimosa, she has not blinked since cutting of her towering branch, she is doing very well and packing on the weight, still early days on her, can see her going at least another 25 days. She will by the looks of her end up being lots and lots of foot long spears. good old autos

Thats my lot for today folks - stay safe and happy growing

morning all - hope you are all doing well!
Not too much happening in there right now, you know how it goes, at this stage it is a waiting game, and currently with the amount of foliage in the tent I am a touch concerned about rot. There are three fans blowing 24/7 under and above the canopy, plus the extractor is on 24/7 - so air movement is happening, just not sure if it is enough.

Anyhow, nutrients are still just Bloom A&B and currently EC is at 1.6 with a PH of 5.8 - PH keeps dropping which is a bit of a pain, so i am using bicarb to nudge it back up.

The Trichomes & Cream has just had a spurt to the finish line and started turning but most trichomes are still clear although the turn is happening, the Pure Red is nearing its end thankfully as my CBD flowers are running low so well timed, the Boomstick is packing out and adding a layer of sugar every night, and teh Mimosa is just being her big self and starting to fill out some of the gaps along its branches now.

T&C top left, top right is the mimosa, bottom right is Boomstick and the Pure Red on the bottom left.

Trichomes and Cream - such a sweet smell, and greasy

hey all - finally got around to chopping the Pure Red, normally when I see a small plant I hope the rest of her is hiding behind the shrubbery, no such luck, she was just small, anyway all trimmed up and drying. She was very citrusy on the nose when cut and during trimming pretty strong diels notes came through, hoping the diesel fades and lemon come to the front during dry/cure over the next couple of months.

So we have three elfty now - the two Dutch Passion girls are swimming along, the size of the mimosa is more visible now the pure red has gone. The T&C is not getting much fatter but is certainly out collecting crystal every night

I also supper cropped as much of the T&C as I could to open her out as she wa getting no light in the centre due to being so dense and cramped up against the Pure Red and Mimosa - now she has space to finish up.

With the three remaining plants still needing a few weeks I went back on with PK9-18 today for a sneaky boost, I think I will add it to teh res once more then thats it and will only use bloom A&B to the end.

EC is 1.6 (in RO water), PH is 5.8, temps are 23.5 to 26.

The Boomstick is looking very nice at the moment as well

Thats it for now - thanks for popping by

cheers @Gpaw - it is plodding along nicely, bit gutted about being unable to tame the Mimosa but shit happens, and I never seen anyone sulking over a plant that grew too big

hello all - been away for a few days, went down south to Dorset to hang out by the sea :raised_hands:

So the T*C came down nine days ago and I have just finished her trim and put her into a grove bag which I have just heat sealed, that will stay there for a couple of months.
She looked rather fine I think - sorry about the crappy picture

The rest of the tent has had some air now since chopping the T&C and everything is coming along - the EC is at 1.6 made up only of Bloom A&B and an PH of 6, with temps not budging at 23 to 25.5 and RH is happy at 40%

The Mimosa thanked me for opening her up and she is just one big plant with buds all over, I could kick myself for not controlling the stretch a little better and being stupid playing with my lights and allowing her to foxtail - this said she will produce a good amount of weed for an Auto - half will go to hash, only the primo top flowers will be kept for smoking.

You can see where she has been opened up - apart from the Broomstick sitting front left, the rest is the Mimosa

The Boomstick is looking grand - really photogenic little plant, and her buds are fat and solid - happy days

I will be chopping the lot down probably early next week to make way for the next four strains

For now take care and catch you all soon

back to trim jail

the Mimosa is massive, I have spent all morning so far cutting her down and cutting back to hang, with only big leaf removal - half way through now, having a sneaky joint break

She foxtailed a lot which is a shame as below the top few inches the bud formations are good - over half will go to the freezer for hash making, the rest will be slow hung dried.

The Boomstick is very short and stocky in comparison, I just cut her and will hang her whole to dry.

I shall be back with some snaps once she dry and ready for bagging.

testing the Trichomes and Cream today - very pleasant smoke - very smooth and creamy. Only took a couple of grams to test and now she is fully heat sealed for a couple of months

Thinking about the next run - hopefully I can get a La Rica Auto for my CBD needs, I want to run a Euforia and possibly a PPP to make up the numbers. In the meantime, I may pop to POrtugal for a week or so

take care all

I’m liking what I am seeing … Did I read that this grow is in your beach cottage? How nice!

hey @Kabuddha - good to see you here :raised_hands:

Thanks, I love growing autos these days, spent so many years avoiding them a they were generally substandard - over the past 3 years or so there have been some serious leaps forwards, massive plants, good yield, lovely sugary nuggets, all done in less than 90 days start to finish - this way I can get 16 new strains run over a year in a 1m tent - works well for me as I get very bored smoking the same weed day in day out, this gives me multiple jars to choose from at all times.

Nope this was run in my garage, but I do certainly head to the cottage on the south coast as often as possible.

take care

Can you say something about the difference between the xq2 and the volcano? ( which volcano? Classic, digit, hybrid or medic 2)

My experience is limited to the original Volcano (analog??).
That Volcano seemed to produce a more expansive inhale than the XQ2, I’m working on memory as I didn’t have both going at the same time for a good A vs B comparison.
The digital version of the volcano gives precise temperature control but I think the air passages etc. are the same.
The DDave mod on the XQ2 minimizes the space between the vaping material and the heater (improves the response time & the vape production). To me, the Volcano took less effort for more vape. That may be important for folks not having robust lung capacity & are seeking medical relief.
For me, the DDave mod moved the Arizer from ‘meh’ to a solid OK.
If money wasn’t an issue I’d go Digital Volcano or Mighty, but for ‘best bang for the buck’ I’d go XQ2 and the DDave mod.

Thank you for response

I was thinking for a while because the hybrid is Damm expansive…but the xq2 tith ddavemod aus also about 200€ and this is nearly the price for the classic… Long story short I got an medic 2 so I can smoke bong and spended only 250 bucks and pretty happy as soon it arrives

nice, good luck with it

I have had teh Classic and the Digi, and most recently got the XQ2, the XQ2 has all the bells and whistles and it sits at a good price point, personally I feel the volcano in all its ways is better but obscenely overpriced.
