Fleur du Mal Seeds

My memory is a little fuzzy on this one but I think this batch of plants flipped in late July or early August so this is like 9 weeks, I estimated the Durban at eight

Here’s some better photos from this morning, by daylight I am thinking she wants at least a few more days to let these current fresh pistils mature, I think it’s mid-swell right now, maybe the last one maybe not. Trichomes are looking nice and frosty white but I don’t see any amber yet and still plenty of clear. I guess she gets to live another week now!

You know, it’s hard to tell! The buds definitely started foxtailing out, and are still pushing the fresh pistils, trichomes are still looking more clear than I’d like, I think I want this one all cloudy with a little amber. She’s on plain water and not much of it, definitely stopped drinking as much around a week ago. I am stuffing new plants into flower but they’re pretty small so until she looks done or I run out of space I’m letting it go. First time with either of these genetics, the Ortega or the African Sherbet/Orange and I have no idea what they’ll do, this has been a surprisingly vigorous and heavy-yielding hybrid!

I think it’s “done” in the can be harvested now sense, but I don’t think it’s done showing me what it can do with some patience

Thanks @Hemp I haven’t found a bad plant yet in the FDM mixes, better and worse but even the lesser ones are still quite good, the better ones have just been amazing! I rate Baudelaire very highly for his selection skills, and while the heirlooms and originals are awesome, I am really enjoying growing out seeds that are a little bit of a mystery, but not too much, and that have come from someone who makes good breeding choices and has high standards so even these discount seeds are reliably healthy and productive, also very dank and old-school in profile with lots of complexities and good curing characteristics in my experience so far. What I have found is that the older and more experienced a breeder is, the less it matters how choosy I am about their genetics, it’s all good selection and heritage and I am happy to let the chef serve me.

Gettin close to the end here, I’m not letting her go more than another night, since I found some bananas today on the mid lowers, with pollen in them. Can’t endanger the Vortex coop so she gets the chop in the morning.

And that’s all she wrote, folks! The Ortega mix lady popped out a couple of pollinated bananas on the lowers, not enough that I’d normally chop what feels like still a little early, but it was necessary this time around. She’s a beauty and will be a joy to smoke in a few months:

My next seed purchase is going to be from Fleur du Mal. I see so many great grows on here using their genetics.

Good show dude, those buds look amazing. Looks to be quite the yielder and dense too. How’s the Ortega mix smelling? I’m convinced now as well to grab some fdm stuff next round, kinda leaning to generals daughter.

How is his sweet tooth yall? Now that’s a cultivar I haven’t smoked in a really long time. Sweet tooth fell to the wayside like a bunch of other great varieties with the kush fetish of the early mid 2000s. I swear overnight a bunch of classic strains were forgotten. I’m guilty of it as well, and jumped on the hype train. I remember seeing sweet tooth photos with giant 2 liter size colas, and that amazing cotton candy smell.
