Foreigner Goes Legal

You should try fabric pots to avoid that root porn :see_no_evil:, your pants would be happier too … beer3|nullxnull

I’ve tried the fabric pots and I don’t like ‘em. I always seem to have to cut them off.

Plants are pretty happy :sunglasses: the hard part is guessing how much fert they need in such small containers.

Not to worry, they’ll get new shoes very soon

I use a long knife to separate fabric from soil, no roots around so no risk to harm them, then I just pull down the fabric from the top. Your plants always look great, I agree, just constraining them in small pots makes things harder while transplanting them, fabric or not, but guess you’re already used to that … frech|nullxnull

Thanks man.

Heavy root structure like this is no big deal for transplanting. Just give them a good rub down like you’re aggressively washing your hair and they’re good to go.

They look like a big octopus when I’m done with them

I always prefer them shaved than hairy :see_no_evil: , if it works for you, great Arriba|nullxnull , to each his own … beer3|nullxnull

Yeah lots of different ways to do it.

I do it this way mostly because space is limited and I run regular seeds.

If I had more space or ran fems I would probably do it differently and they would have been transplanted a long time ago.

My veg space can do MAX 6 1 gallon pots.

This is just the most effective way to get me where I need to be.

I’m only kidding I wash them thoroughly.

Ever see the Father Ted where they spoof the movie Speed on a milk truck that can only go 5kph?

So I’ve begun the transplanting process for the EDHs. I’m quite sure one is female and one is male. Still one unknown but I’m going to transplant it anyway.

I’ve soaked the Promix and have decided to let it sit for a day so it’s not so saturated when I put the plants into their new home.

Also, transplanting pro hack:

Cheers and all the best.

Transplant of Everyday Haze complete.

I tousled the roots so they’d spread more easily.

Here they are all done and basking in their new home.

If you look at the size of the plants you might think they had a root system consistent with the 1G pots. Nope. Straight from 1L.

I tied them down because height is going to be an issue for sure.

I gave them a little veg fert to keep them going until they get a full fert once the pot has dried sufficiently. Which might be a few days.

Lights are at 15” from canopy.

Only one confirmed female so far so we’ll see what happens. Still waiting on sexing for the MMH. I’ll end up getting what I get.

Onward and upward. Now I just need to make sure my temps and humidity are as dialed in as they can be.

Cheers for looking.

You’ve got a little Dexter setup going on there with that plastic. And you tied them down, and cut the roots. I’m scared to think what’s next…

Just kidding. Looks great.

Thanks man.

Lol, I do treat them a bit aggressively. Bend to my will plants!

The plastic is for two reasons. Number 1 so I don’t damage the hardwood. Number 2 because cardboard wicks water so if I didn’t cover them with plastic the boxes would collapse.

So I flipped them on Valentine’s Day, which was yesterday, and I’m pretty sure they’ve grown an inch already.

I think it’s cool but it also makes me nervous. Worst case I trim off offending high shoots but I’d rather not do that.

BEND THEM!

I will try that first but if I end up with 4’ plants no amount of bending will be sufficient. I suspect these ones are going to be gigantic monsters.
