I think I need to try my hand at this. The part that always kept me from making hash is the drying. I’ve had it in my head that a freeze dryer was almost a requirement to do it right. But @Foreigner and @Pigeonman 's hash balls indicate otherwise.
Definitely not, we used to have two, and imho you can make just as good or better without. As you see now
I don’t use a freezer
I’m now gonna stick with: trim buds at harvest, de-stem and freeze right away for fresh-frozen bubble.
But also do the other variables when needed. Such as old-flower runs and seed-run-dust.
My freezer is for French fries and mangoes only
Drying is easy. Just maximize surface area but don’t worry too much about it. Some guys microplane. I don’t. Little marble sized chunks dry just fine.
I just put them on cardboard for wicking.
