I’m thinking it should be a huge improvement over what it was . She’s gonna have to toughen up that’s all there is to it I had the talk with her. Don’t have time to baby sit .
Overheated roots will fuck a plant up. Good call there. I dealt with it in Texas and lost most all of my plants when they got overheated.
Ok getting the ladies ready for clones i gave them 5/12/26 to help the process
There’s 2 bmm , 3 pp, 2 cb, 1 ish DC
The DC looks like a lady but no hairs to confirm ( I’ve been fooled before )
I am only going to use the best 4 clones hopefully
1 dc , 1bmm , 2 pp
I have a cb in the Octopot in the 24 x 24 team already
The BK x SS all were males so collecting pollen for shits and giggles
I do intend to flower the remaining female in the seedling tent I’ll have to bend the shit out oh them
And it’s the same tent iam collecting pollen in so they will be open pollenated not carrying who there daddy will be lol seed for all how will want them
Also I’ll Select a few branches in the main tent and pollinate and then label accordingly
So here we go
We’ll busy day got a new 27 gallon Rez and a pump with 20 feet of 1/2 inch tube to fill the Octopots I’ll use a surge protector it’s plugged into .
Found my old seedling light it’s a t5 and makes a great shop light and a place to keep a mom or 2 lol
Did some creative bending on the chuckys bride and cleaned up under the net
Took clones 4 days ago of the dc and the b k x s s they where not % confirmed and they are in the flowering tent along with some boys and a few girls just for shitz and giggles
Then there the main tent where the moms are and the clones
I don’t remember who it was but it was on this site I saw someone using soda bottles for there clones I thought I’d try it out
And I made a sauce
The CB responded to the bending and the trimming very well and I topped 3 of the lower branches in 2 weeks I’ll top the 2 main branches for the 2 Nd time
I believe the roots hit the rez she’s drinking a gallon a day so we will see some growth explosion soon
Once the Rez gets low I’ll feed at a 1.75/ 1/1 till transition
Trimmed
Today
Best vibes Papa. I love seeing you guys working those Octos… I’ve never run a SCROG or a SOG before. I’m sure this will be good.
Thanks for stopping by @GMan
Hopefully all is well
The Rez was getting low so I mixed up a 2/1/1
Using jacks 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of 15.5/0/0
With same amount of 20/20/20
The CB really loved the extra N ! trying to quicken the growth to fill the net
The CB at lights out looked perky and standing tall
I seem to have mistaken the preflowing signs to be a boy ( banana OG x sour strawberry) and sent her in to flower for about a week and she’s a girl so I cut a clone and put them both back in veg ( thanks fish for the advice )
So I should be able to have 5 total different strains going
The CB in the small tent ( Octopot)
And 4 Octopots in the big tent( big for my humble setup) with 1 banana OG x sour strawberry, 1 petolia pink, 1 damage case, 1 blue moon magoo
Stay tuned
Paps
Now I was reading the topic over feeding using CO2
And it looks like I may do a dyi co2 generator I the small tent with the chuckys bride
After reading the comments by @Purple-N-Hairy
I figured I’d give it a try So I did some research
And it appears that I should start to add co2 during the beginning of the flowering stage ( when you see the transition is starting ) for 3 weeks
say up to the last 2 weeks of flower
Temps need to be 85 plus I believe and not higher then 95 ( in the tent lights on) also in the summer always that hot lol
So got a few plastic soda bottles and some tubing just need hot glue gun and we’re off to the races
Credit video on YouTube by blackbear prepper
If I run the release tube to the clip on fan in my tent it will distribute it throu the tent
Please let me know what you think
Sounds like fun.
Will you use a meter to monitor co2 level?
I run my lil space around 900ppm. Via bottle and regulator.
Lowered ppm over last 3 weeks down to 400. Had foxtailing under cmh in mid 80s f. This fall I plan to keep ambient temps in high 70s.
I’ve heard no Co2 during transition if one wants to reduce stretch. Still learning.
Thanks for the advice
I just saw the simplest way to make
1 gallon milk jug a balloon and a pin
2 cups sugar 1 Liter of water
1 tablespoon activated yeast shake
Place balloon over opening make 3 pin holes in balloon it takes 45 minutes to inflate balloon
Co2 will release
Oh yeah make sure exhaust fans are off lol
How much did your bottle , regulator and meter cost @GramTorino … just a rough guesstimate ?
No co2 for first hour of lights on , ( a waste as plants wakening up ) or last hour , let them use up what’s in tent befor lights out : )
Since this is for shitts and giggles I am trying to keep cost down to see for my self if there’s an improvement and how much of so worth a try I
Got yeast I got sugar and a plastic bottle just need a balloon lol
So no meter just on the cheap like me
Us dollars… 1 time costs.
$40 regulator and tubing.
$100 Co2 tank 20lb.
$$$ Co2 Controller varies greatly
Had to purchase a tank because around here the hydro shops exchange tanks. Gotta have a tank to play the game.
Ongoing cost. Around $20 per exchange empty for full tank.
Some areas folks can pay a deposit fee for the tank. No need to purchase a tank.
This is cool. Found it on amazon uk.
Nice unit…
I use an older Autopilot Greenhouse Master controller. (Discontinued)
Might as well try it out. It’s what farmers do!
I hear ya…but not so easy in practice. Via sensor, most controllers activate at lights on. Deactivate at lights off.
Edit… Fav Co2 techno read.
https://medteknutrients.com.au/co2-enriched-hydroponic-growing/
Everything I read said middle of there day and to shout it down before lights out
Yup! I have the same controller you linked - the Autopilot APC8200. I like it, but I have one complaint - the light that the remote sensor emits during the lights-out period. So I put it on the same timer that turns on one of the lights. The controller has a memory for CO2 settings, so after the start up sequence that it runs through when starting up after power has been cut, it’s kicks right on. With this in mind…
…I could put it on a separate timer to run it at any point during the lights-on period.
BTW, GramTorino, regarding your CO2 costs, if you have any interest in saving a lot of money and trips to your hydro shop for a new tank, get a bigger tank!. I had 20 pound tanks for years and was happy to pay $18 to fill them. Then I got a 50 pound tank and now pay $26.50 to fill it. If you have an industrial gas supplier near you, that’ll be a better source for cheaper refills in bigger tanks.
