GC flowers Cap Junky and Chem 91

Ok, here is the 4x4 with 4 strains that will receive pollen from a reversed Cap Junky in the not too distant future.

CSI 5150 TK x TK

IHG Slurriking

Chiquita Banana

Headband

And the Cap Junky i will be spraying.

Thank You to @LoveDaAutos for the CJ, @Boozer for the Chiquita Banana, @Redrum92 for the Slurriking. Appreciate you all…

The Headband are bag seed, which i received in bud i bought from SkunkVA during my vacation in 2022.

The CSI 5150 TK x TK (crazy croc) were purchased direct.

The Slurriking and TK have large fans, but seem dwarfed by the HB.

Next up is taking cuts, mixing STS and start spraying the CJ when it’s time.

Soon after i finish with the STS and dispose of the reversed CJ, i will flip the 2 plants in my 3x3 that will flower unseeded. Another Headband and a Chem 91.

When i checked in the 3x3 last night, this wasnt like this. Flooded tent from a sticky autovalve… fortunately the res was low and it should be a quick cleanup.

I figure i will be late providing beans to the Vetetans giveaway this year, but i will see each and every one of you get taken care of. I havent missed a vet giveaway yet and i dont plan to start now. My fellow vets are my #1 priority in any seed i produce.

Ok, time to get back to work.

Nice! Excited to see the STS process so I can learn a thing or two!

I followed @LoveDaAutos proven method, I believe he posted it here as well. But sure, I can go through the steps and document it here too I guess… maybe he will stop in with a link to it?

I’m sure most of y’all have figured out i’m a lifelong Van Halen fan, since 78 and the first album at 16 years old. Anyway, the new book is out by Alex Van Halen entitled Brothers. It’s Alex’s letter to his brother he says.

My daughter pre-ordered it for me, with hopes it would arrive before the trip down south… it arrived later that day. Took a quick look at it yesterday, cant wait to get into it.

Plants look better today, bit perkier… perhaps they missed my company… or that i LITFA. Either way they look happy.

I believe the heavy flushing of the growpito had everything to do with it. I will be taking that more seriously with every run.

The Jacks 321 is kicking ass. I will be filling the reservoirs today. 10 days since i filled and turned the valve on the autopots, that will change soon.

Everybody knows what tomorrow is… if your ready for a change get your ass in line.

I prepare the STS solution I use to reverse a female plant to make S1 feminized seeds using the information below.

Be sure to use either RO water or Distilled water.

Measuring and Mixing Stock Solution “A”

  • Fill your 500ml measuring cup with 500ml of distilled water
  • Measure out .5g of Silver Nitrate
  • Mix the silver nitrate powder into the 500ml of distilled water
  • Pour the silver nitrate solution into a brown glass bottle and seal tightly
  • Label the bottle “A” Silver Nitrate
  • Thoroughly clean the 500ml container and rinse with distilled water

Measuring and Mixing Stock Solution “B”

  • Fill the 500ml container with 500ml of distilled water
  • Measure out 2.5 grams of sodium thiosulfate anhydrous, OR 3.9g of sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate
  • Mix the sodium thiosulfate with the 500ml of distilled water
  • Pour the sodium thiosulfate solution into a brown glass bottle and seal it tightly
  • Label the bottle “B” Sodium Thiosulfate
  • Thoroughly clean the 500ml container and rinse with distilled water

Keep Both “A” and “B” Solutions Cool and Dark!

Mixing and Diluting STS
The next step is to mix the two stock solutions together properly, creating the actual Silver Thiosulfate Solution (STS).
Before using the STS, it must be diluted to a weak solution for spraying!

  • Measure 50ml of stock solution “B” with the 60cc syringe and gently squirt it in the 500ml glass measure
  • Thoroughly rinse the syringe with distilled water, or change to a new syringe
  • Measure 50ml of stock solution “A” with the 60cc syringe
  • While whisking solution “B” in the glass measure, slowly squirt solution “A” into the glass measure in less than 30 seconds
  • Pour the mixed solution into the 32oz brown glass bottle with black sprayer top
  • Add 900ml of distilled water to fill the sprayer the rest of the way, leaving room for a little bit of surfactant
  • Add yucca extract in small amounts and shake well
  • Test spray on a leaf to if solution still beads up and rolls off
  • Add additional yucca extract and shake well, until the solution spreads across the leaf instead of beading up
  • Thoroughly rinse all tools using more rinse water than usual

In fairness to the author of this guide I did not create this it was written by a grower on another site.

Dude, im so happy a single Slurriking survived. All it takes is one. Would’ve been a bummer if none had made it. Hopefully you have success with the seedmaking!

Have some more CJ91 in the works myself. Will post pics soon.

So am i buddy, thanks again for the beans. The Slurriking could be a nice pairing with the CJ.

Plants have been taking off, check out this fan leaf… might be the largest i have seen personally. It’s from the Headband and is near 12", needed to take a few for light penetration.

Need to clean up lowers and prep for flower here soon. Get my STS mixed and ready.

We are getting there, think ill mix up STS soon and start hitting the cap junky.

Cap Junky

Chiquita Banana

Slurriking

Headband

Crazy Croc

I am noticing a difference in the autopots with the airtray additions, the Chem 91 and other Headband are showing issue without them… causing wet feet and root rot. I ordered 4 more…

Jacks seems to be performing well, healthy green plants with zero burning. Lets see how they do through flower. I have an ammended Jack’s feeding schedule from an OG buddy.

Happy Veterans Day to my fellow vets, Thank You for your service.

What is the airtray? I know the autovalve watering systwrm, but the airtray addition doesn’t sound familiar

This, it suspends the medium above the flood zone in tray/container.

Should eliminate the wet feet the Chems and Glues dont seem to like, which brings on the root rot. Same principal as using hydroton etc.

Right now i am turning valve on and off on the 91 and second headband in the other tent. I allow the tray to fill then turn it off… allowing it to dry out a bit before i have issues. It seems to be working.

Mixed my STS solution, but my notes differ from the recipe that LDA posted above. IIRC I used the mix in my notes last time… so i’m crossing fingers my memory is correct. The noted mix was successful for my 91 S1’s.

Here is my notes…

Part A
1.25g of Silver Nitrate to 250ml of distilled… mix thoroughly and pour to part a bottle.

Rinse all tools…

Part B
1.95g of Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate to 250ml of distilled… mix thoroughly and pour to part B bottle.

Refrigerate.

I am awaiting a local OG to stop in for snips, then I will mix solutions and spray pollen donor.

125ml part B to 125ml part A into sprayer. refrigerate before and after use. I will mix just before using.

Bottles are tinted brown, sprayer is wrapped in electrical tape to stop light penetration during storage/usage.

Wish me luck…

Those bases are defiantly a required additon imo. I was even putting a 1" layer of perlite ontop of the bases. I really hope going full perlite this round will give me better roots. I bought the airdomes as well, but still havent used them.
