Ghost og (orgnkid cut)

How would u describe the smell and taste of ghost OG?

Itā€™s exactly like OG Kush.

Sorry I had to .

Iā€™m blooming for the first time, and I canā€™t really say Iā€™ve had the real deal through a dealer or dispensary.

Sour but not like sour diesal more of a earthy musky funk , has a very distinct kinda of smell. Iā€™m horrible at terp descriptions though and I find every bodies nose to be slightly different in what it picks up or dosent

I grew some Bubba Og(pre98 bubba x Ghost OG) and the structure/growth/rooting sounds identical to what I had. Really wasnā€™t a fan of any of the smells that came out of it though. Iā€™d describe it as kind of floral? Someone else smelled it and described it as a turpentine smell

Based on what i grew I wouldnt try Ghost og personally but then again i donā€™t know if the smell/taste is anything like the real deal

A lot of the terps develop right towards the end , during the swell . She will be bland at first almost cedar like then the skunkiness will arrive in the last few weeks , she takes a little longer then some of the newer strains but not much

As long as the plant holds up to my abuse, I have the patience. Using organic amendments and top dressing; would you say go higher or regular on the feed? Top dressing with a 5-10-4 dry blend. Along with a water soluble bloom mix and Epsom salr

If you mean floral like roses or those stinky flower wreaths those are not terps Iā€™ve ever experienced out of the ghost or any of the others. The bubba kush smells and tastes like burnt chocolate and coffee and the ghost is a sour earthy dank kind of funk. Seeds donā€™t always carry on the traits of the parents itā€™s also possible they were not what they claimed.

I top dress all my plants in veg with earth juice rainbow mix grow and use general organics liquid ferts when in flower. I hate supporting general hydro because there owned by the enemy but there isent a comparable product in my area.
This is in organic living soil , normally a mix of happy frog and ocean forest.

Id say the way its described on the the website is pretty accurate to how it turned out. Minus maybe the diesel smell.

Iā€™ve got a feeling the real deal was used but I didnā€™t actually get the taste/smell of the OG that i was hoping for.

Iā€™m using earth juice sea blast bloom in the water.

I have a bag of that myself but only use it a couple time when there realy booming , all of the earth juice products are impressive for the price, you should check out the ingredient list in the general organic liquid bloom , all kinds of neat stuff but Iā€™m mainly after the beat vinase, itā€™s basically beat molasses and is highly beneficial

Iā€™ll make it easy :joy: itā€™s the general organics bio thrive

There liquid sea kelp is top quality also (bio-weed)
Plus the earth juice oily can which is a cal-mag humid acid supplement

I know that guy has been in the seed game for awile but the og cuts esp the ghost and a couple others were locked up real tight for most of there existence and most people bred with fakes or s1s of s1s and so on. Also the real doctor green thumbs is breal from Cypress hill , the soul assassin crew , the people who helped make kush so famous.
Archive seed bank started most of there lines from a s1 of the kush as did many. It was so rare and held so tight people grew out any seed they found and bred with it regardless of the quality and there are more fakes then legit cuts by far and there are ones held tighter then the ghostā€¦
Some of the original kush crosses that were actually fire were done by suge , leapord kush being one of them.
Ograskel also put out some good beans from what I hear but good luck finding any of those thatā€™s all in the past.

I did quite a bit of research once upon a time when I had too much free time on my hands and found some old archived stuff from the original OG site which seems to have the Dr greenthumb from Canada on it which has given me a bit of hope it could be the real deal haha. Honestly though real or not I wouldnā€™t know either way.

A lot of people were on the original site I wish we could get all of it back but that seems highly improbable at this point. By 2004 there had already been two years of arguing about the kush on overgrow lol

Iā€™m going in agreement on that one. Pain in the ass. I took 2 from mine before I had to part with it for my issues and one is coming along but the other is probably not gonna make it. The good one will be part of my first grow since battle of the borg and she got caught in the crossfire.

Another interesting thing about the og kush and why it became so famous besides right place and time was it was being grown in some real nice indoor set ups on flood and drain tables before hardly anybody was doing that. Remember the days when hydroponic was considered superior ? I was always told og is one of the few plants that actually comes out better with synthetics but I have a hard time believing that, probably more of a issue of people not understanding organics well enough back then to benefit from them especially indoors. But if anybody wants to replicate the original conditions you want flood and drain tables , giant rock wool blocks, the modified Lucas formula and a good three part nutrient with slightly cooler room temps then normal , Helicopters were scanning for indoor grows in los Angelaā€™s back then so having a hot room was a dead give away, turns out some strains realy like the cooler temps .
