Wanted to let you know that you have a great looking grow and I hope you have a great finish and Iā€™d like to say no hard feelings not worth it and happy growing The Doc

Iā€™ve often wondered what would be the best way to safely collect pollen. I would think that you would have more success if the stalks and sacks were kept intact. Iā€™ve read that the best method is to cut the stalk and place them in a cup of water as mentioned. I recently did this with my goji male as a test. I kept him close to a sunny window but it really stalled his growth and previously under lights he dropped pollen between day 14-18 and this time the sacks only just started to open at around day 23. I placed the branches in a box, suspended on itā€™s sideā€¦ This is all just experimental but Iā€™ll see what happens. It might be an option for you just to keep them away from your grow area, pay special attention and isolate them once the sacks begin to open and are looking swollenā€¦ Iā€™m expecting the plant to begin to dry up and die and Iā€™m hoping the pollen will be released eventually.

Iā€™ll keep you posted.

Please do! Iā€™ve seen some pretty cool pollen isolation chambers you can build with a tote with a little DIY magic. With my limited space I should really see if I can put one together.

Outdoor Update:
The Mothers Milk F2 and Headband x Chem D have been flowering around 3 weeks now. They have finished stretching and are now making buds. I kicked this GDP clone outside about two weeks ago, thinking it would go immediately into flower, but it hasnā€™t. Curious to see what it decides to do. I assumed a clone would have immediately flowered, but it had been fully rooted for a number of weeks before it was put outside, so maybe thatā€™s it? If it doesnā€™t flower, Iā€™ll let it have a spot in this seasons outdoor run. Have a couple autos started to see if I can get them to a reasonable size worth keeping if they donā€™t stunt.

Tomato seeds from Uncleā€™s crop last year are starting their hardening off process

Green Beans. I saved some green beans from last years plant, and it looks like they are going to germinate! This one in the bottom right is coming up with his bean hat on, but there is life!

Looking great my friend, helluva thread in fact. Sorry I didnā€™t find it sooner, appears we have VERY similar tastes as well. Iā€™ve ran an isolation chamber for years and years. Mine was made from wood and nothing like these epic ones Iā€™ve seen. I tossed it when I moved recently and am building a new one, I bought some totes already, just trying to locate a computer fan or two. Iā€™ll post some pics when Iā€™m done. Recently made some MMf2ā€™s with my mentor, after convincing him they werenā€™t getting any younger lol. looking forward too seeing what comes out of yours, as well as everything else.

The MM F2 isnā€™t a stinker so far. She has a very delicate smell that is kind of difficult to describe. I would say itā€™s a soft smelling, sweetness. Not floral in any way. I wouldnā€™t say it has the candied hearts smell yet, but I could see it developing in that direction. Definitely something unique in comparison to what Iā€™ve grown before. Curious how it develops as she moves through flower. Buds are really just starting to form, so weā€™ll see.

Glad the seeds made it, and yeah, please do share you isolation chamber! A chamber seems like a great way to be able to do some very selective breeding. Did you have any photos of you MM F2 seed run? Would be curious to take a look.

Do not sadly as anything in the shared space ā€œIS STRICTLY FORBIDDENā€ So only stuff that makes it to my place is fair game. Itā€™s usually only mothers tbch but as I moved recently it was opted to use a room for the MM adage, also made a cross. That was my reasoning behind getting him to pop his MM actually this cross. All has been shucked etc. and is actually drying as we speak Once I have a bunch in hand Iā€™ll PM you.

Heā€™s been at this For a very long time and is very cautious and extremely low profile. Even though our country is legal now. He has Zero Social media etc. hates if I even talk about it. Iā€™ve been trying to get him to strictly go on here for like 5-6 months to no avail, even after explaining the anonymity that can be had. Nope! Iā€™ll keep working him though. And Iā€™ll be sharing all of my stuff anyway.

My isolation chamber was a total fail lol!! Ah well it was a fun experiment. The plants just went limp and the pollen sacks didnā€™t open.

Back to the drawing board!

Bummer! I clipped off all the largest pollen sacks this morning and put them in with a mini dehumidifier, and then culled the rest of the plant to avoid accidental pollination. I donā€™t think they were really ready yet, but as my indoor tent is starting to grow more and more pistils, I figure I may as well just do one project correctly. I donā€™t expect to get any viable MMF2 pollen, but if I do itā€™ll be a happy surprise!

Plants are coming along nicely 15 days after flip. Planning on pollinating a few branches on each plant with some Mel Frank GDP pollen on Sunday, as well as doing a little defoliation. Iā€™m pleased that Melā€™s GDP and the Darkheart Kenā€™s GDP somewhat resemble each other in leaf structure and smell. The Darkheart clone is just a lot bushier. I canā€™t wait to see if these turn purple naturally, as I donā€™t think Iā€™ll have cool enough temps to have them induced. Really hoping I find something similar to the GDP that was a staple around Oakland a decade or so ago with those chunky purple nugs, and bright orange hairs, that when you smoke it makes you dumb as a rock, while inspiring you to eat everything in your fridge.
