Plants are starting to show a lot more vigorous growth daily with the long days. Have about 4 weeks until they will transition to flower. Topped them yesterday. The Dr. Zymes heavy 3 day treatment last week, seems to have gotten rid of the thrips as I’m not seeing any signs of damage on the new growth. My BB Muffin x Vintage BB F2 seems to be the runt of the litter. I’m trying to tell her she has home yard advantage, as this is where she was created, so she has to get it together and show the others she means business!
Smell and taste:
Has a very chemical and sour smell that is sharp to the nose. Flavor is chemically mixed with watermelon jolly rancher. First flavor profile I’ve had quite like this. It sounds gross, but I really like it. Coats the whole mouth and leaves an aftertaste for a while after smoking it.
Potency and effects:
The stuff is POTENT. I would say it is as strong as the Loompa’s Headband x Triangle Kush I grew last year, making the two of these strains the strongest I’ve grown myself. I really don’t love the phrase “dick in the dirt weed”, but I think it’s really the best way to describe the high. It gives you the one thousand yard stare, and makes accomplishing anything impossible. Stuff locks me to the couch and puts me in an out of your mind deep relaxation, smiling and happy state. Can have a bit of an edge if I overindulge, where it makes me confused in a somewhat paranoid way. Great for the later in the evening and just totally vegging out. I love having strains like this in a jar for the right occasion.
Overall:
I can see why CSI had said that he had gotten a lot of good feedback about this cross. I grew this plant outdoors in the winter and while it doesn’t look like much, it’s top shelf smoke. Kind of an intense, in your face high, but I think for those of us that like that, its a fantastic strain! I have had to take notes on my review piece by piece so it has taken me multiple bowls/days to get a full report together as I just lose focus so quickly. Combine those effects with the really standout terps that are coating my mouth, and I’m calling this one a winner! I have to do her justice and grow her inside now! Given my rave review, I do want to note that in growing her, she did show intersex tendencies in early flowering which I picked off for a few weeks, and then they stopped until she threw out a couple last day nanners around Day 65.
I don’t trip on a thrip or two outdoors. Actually any insect in small quantities as the other bugs will do their jobs. It’s infestations that are the problem. Indoors I’d nuke even the smallest bugs with spinosad. lol
Agreed! My outside plants always seem to have thrips attracted to them, and they get along just fine. Indoors has been fully saturated with spinosad so hopefully that’s behind us. Now I just have to stop bouncing around all day from my garden to my tent and reduce the risk of bringing bugs in!
I feel that so much I always am bouncing between tents checking on them etc have learned since I started growing outdoor to to be more vigilant and be more cautious to wash up and change cloths wait awhile before doing anything in the tents etc after dealing with outdoor so I don’t bring any unwanteds
Plants seem pretty happy these days. Spinosad seems to have done the trick. Not seeing any signs of bugs inside. Did some defoliation to everyone in the tent, and topped everyone but the Loompa Headband x TK. She had gotten the beginning of some stem rot from all the soil drenching and foliars I had been doing, but she’s dried out now and starting to plug along. Trying to mostly just leave her alone. I seem to always have one slow poke in the tent. The Sherbert x Wedding Cake cross is really vigorous. Took off her top to try and get a good clone, maybe see if I can reverse it. I purchased a tent for drying, and it’s calling to me to do a little project this summer.

I haven’t used rapid rooters or similar products which seem to pretty popular around here. Just trying to root in soil using a little cup dome. Still an amateur with cloning, but I root out tons of other kinds of plants directly into soil. Will take a cutting from my outdoor Sherbert x Wedding cake soon as well.
Ha! That’s how it goes for me. You buy a drying tent, or a quarantine tent, but might as well do something else in there when not in use, right? Are you ready to buy another drying tent yet?
I’m sure the clone will take. No different than rooting any other veggies. I like the clips on the cups.
That would be cool if it had the make up old school sativa in it. From the reports I’ve seen posted on forums, most people have found Bubba leaners, but mine does have some pretty large spacing between the nodes, so we’ll see.
Just home made. A couple plastic to go cups, with one having a hole cut in it’s top, and the other with some drainage holes poked through, and some binder clips to hold them together. I like to keep clear cups around for seedlings so I can see root development, so I’ve got tons of them now. Basically a plastic cup hoarder. And then I just put the bottom cup in a party cup so the roots get shade.
July is a great time to be growing plants outdoors. They are just growing so fast! They’ve all been topped, and have some LST except for the BB cross to try and get them to bush out. Applied a top dress of fresh worm castings, compost, a little craft blend, and some gnarley barley. Think they have 1-2 more weeks of veg before they transition to flower. Won’t be too large this year, but they’ll provide me what I need.
Neither the mother nor any of the F2s I tested (which mostly resembled the mother) had purple stems but the Father used to make them had solid red/purple stems. I assume based on posts that I’ve read that it’s a common snow lotus trait. Love how healthy all of your plants look!
Every plant is now throwing pistils, and the Goji on the far left seems to have started it’s stretch. Everyone got just shy of 60 days in veg. Wanted to post one last photo for posterity to see how much they stretch and document when they transitioned. Seems they are getting going a few days earlier this year. Excited to see how they flower!
