Second package arrived today on time and in good shape. Many thanks @GreenleafNutrients
Possible Iām hallucinating this, but I think there is a mention of items potentially coming in old packaging on their website?
Nope, found it!
You sure? I find differences in ingredients between US and Can sometimes. For example Happy Frog and Ocean Forest.
Ok, now thatās a bit concerning @potpotpot . Them saying the content may be a lot higher then shown on the bag could really mess up a grower calculating things
Have you ever used megacrop @DougDawson??
The stuff is amazing in soil and hydro (in hydro you get a lot of salt build up and sludge in the bottom of the buckets but can be cleaned out easily enough).
Itās a bit iffy in a drip system/gravity system though as sometimes it blocks the lines. Itās easy enough to fix the issues but if your gonna have a holiday or similar away from your plants swap it out for a salt based nutrient as a temporary measure
Maybe get some stickers made up to slap on the bags, indicating the change?
I always read the faqs though
btw do you like the new bag design? with the tear zipper like that. Its a new change also we recently did with the 3lb bags.
No, this was going to be my first try with it. Just looking at the bit posted above saying contents may be much higher then on the bag certainly makes me a bit concerned. When trying to balance your feed it can be difficult when what is printed on the bag is not what is in the bag. I saw lots of folks stating they used the stuff so I was fine with it.
Ok, not sure how to respond to that so I will hold my tongue.
Iāve got to say, last time I was called a drama llama Iā¦well wait a minute, Iāve never been called a drama llama. But if it comes with Blue Kush pollen Iāll deal with it.
Megacrop is as close as youāll ever get to an organic powdered nutrient.
Iāve went through 2 22lb bags in 3 years. I feed my entire garden with the stuff though.
My only gripe is if your plant is lacking something you add higher amounts of megacrop to fix the issue but then other elements could become toxic to the plants.
The stuff just does what itās designed to do and it does it extremely well.
My advice and its what I personally do to make sure everything desolves is make a bottled liquid version up using warm water and use a ppm/ec meter when making a feed up.
@Esrgood4u thats a great tip
Keeps mixing consistent
I too use this method , sure beats a teaspoon of this and a cup of that and trying to gauge what amount of water is in Rez to begin with : )
@GreenleafNutrients my 1st package arrived!
Thank you
Nice, thatās good to hear. I have seen others give rave reviews so I am looking forward to giving it a shot. Still not sure what a drama llama is Is that the politically correct substitution for drama queen, lol.
Iāve not got time to sit and wait for stuff to desolve, check ppm then add more. If its in liquid form it mixes with the water faster and you get to the desired ppm a lot quicker.
Iām also lazy af and having to repeat the same thing over and over pisses me off
Waiting = less time getting high
I buy 22lb bags bro so I donāt often come by this thread. I donāt use the feed charts. I just use my ec meter and push my plants till they show a negative reaction then back off to the last ec.
One more bit of advice. Store the megacrop somewhere thatās extremely dry. Itās a total b#stard to scoop out the bag when moisture gets to it.
Thanks for the tip.
Same here @Esrgood4u
I use empty 0.75L coke bottles and I screw pull top water bottle lids on them
I fill bottle with nutes ( donāt even really measure ) say quarter full then add water till full , screw on lid and shake , simple
Then itās just pull top and squeezed into Rex till ec reaches required level
Mixing nutes is easy too to changes ratio of feed ( 0.7ec of this , then add 0.3 off that for total ec of what ever total is desired , simple : )
Iāve kept my old 5l ionic bottles and do the same with them. Great minds think alike eh??
