I’m on SS payments now , lol , no longer have a good paying job , but SICK OF JACKING with my dry room . Our weather is fucked here . Example , Saturday was 78 degrees , Monday was 36 . Humidity usually at 80 to 90 percent . About impossible to dry correctly without me going upstairs 12 times a day to adjust it .
I harvest anywhere from 3 to 6 pounds a tent so a dry tent is not big nuff to work , need a while upstairs bedroom to do it .
Figure I can stagger the harvest , and also hang some a few days until the thing is empty from first batch .
EVERYONE who has one that I’ve asked said it was a great investment .
Thing uses cheap available stuff in it , and warranties don’t worry me , I never buy extended ones anyways. My Mustang was 28 grand , got no warranty on it
My favorite thing about the cannatrol is that they use a sponge soaked in water for adding/tempering humidity. Second favorite is that it is quite literally a wine fridge w/ a peltier cooler unit and a sponge!
Ok fine they added a display screen.
It still likely delivers the best drydown that a hobby grower can achieve right now, most certainly delivers the least fussy process, and I’m quite envious that someone already developed it!
That is, until me and @FieldEffect figure something out. All in due time.
Yup, I preordered a cannatrol 2 years ago, and right afterwards i learned about wine fridge drying, found a wine frige on amazon warehouse and decided i was going to test that while waiting for my pre order. I researched and found the cannatrol settings and guidelines and applied them to my fridge that could only adjust temp (which was most important to me because i cant run an AC in my dry room to get close to 60F) but always seem to push to maintain 60% rh. Even when filled with wet flower it exhausts excess moisture. Decided to save my $ and not get the cannatrol.
I live in high desert winter wasn’t to bad to cure because its easier to keep humidity up and temp down. August or September 110°+ and <25%rh really hard to maintain dry room. Running side by side cures grove bags and jars. The 2wk mark bud in grove bags moist smell great just a little to moist for a joint just need 1.5 paper to get proper burn. 2wks in jar meh still burping for 5 min everyday smell is kinda there buds not ready to be smoked. So grove bags at2wks bud is stank and moist now aging like a fine wine. Jars well tgey need some more time is all I can really say. Imo grove bags for the win.
I’m not jacking with a wine cooler and modding it , just not . My understand of electrical components stop after plugging something in .
I use to slave half a day cooking 30 lbs of chicken every week for my dogs. Hated it , wasted my time . Spent 300 bucks on a large vertical smoker. Now I load the smoker with all 30 pounds at once , set for 2.5 hours then I
FORGET IT
Keeps it warm till I get to it. It makes it so easy I should bought the smoker years ago .
So
Cannatrol will do the same thing for me with bud. Won’t be running upstairs every damn hour checking temps and humidity. Last dry a month or two ago SUCKED. I mean the dry was perfect and dead on , BUT I bet I went upstairs to jack with it 2 or 300 times .
How much is my time worth , to me, I guess it’s worth more than 1600 bucks
I buy the 5 pound bags of boneless skinless tenders they cal them . Already broken into perfect size for the dogs .
I do NOT SMOKE them for the dogs, I just use the heating element and set at 265 degrees for 2hours and 15 minutes , then it goes into warm mode at 100 degrees or so .
I place them into it in the morning , later in the day when I remember about them I pull em out and into fridge . REALLY made a difference in my life!!
For me I smoke with hickory , dogs wouldn’t like it smoked
