Grove Bags.... Has anyone tried them on a cure?

You’re not getting high from smoking then. 11 hydroxy is the metabolite that gets you high. I doubt your lungs have enzymes that your stomach doesn’t.

When I first tried edibles it was some brownies that my wife made. We had no Idea what we were doing but we watched vids… We’re not rocket scientists but we figured we had the procedure down. So, she makes these brownies and I eat one. Having researched, I knew to wait a good long while. I spent the entire day eating these brownies. I felt absolutely nothing but sick from eating those dang things. We threw out the rest.
Then later on we figured we’d try again with some butter from some of the best I’d grown to date. I ate three of them in the morning and felt nothing, however, this time my wife tried the corner of one. That was a very bad day for her. It was even hard to watch.
I said all that so I could say this @Neopetal , I have no problem getting high from smoking weed. I do wish I could find a strain that puts me to sleep but I am able to get quite wasted from smoke. I also can eat enough edibles to tranquilize a full grown horse and go about my day as normal.
There is a great deal of information out there about this and it has to do with genetics and the body not having enough of a certain enzyme in the liver that is needed to metabolize THC so it pass through without entering the blood stream. When smoked, however, the THC is delivered to the blood stream without going through the liver. That is the reason, in a very condensed version, why we can experience pot one way and not the other.

IKR! If only! I don’t really like smoking. I don’t like the process of taking smoke into my lungs. When I decided to grow, it was because I planned to make and use edibles primarily. It was a kick in the teeth when I found out that they didn’t have any effect on me.

So I have some still Im using more instead of jars. But I have a question for anyone who reuses them and reseals them numerous times retrieving the short term storage for daily use, still holding up ?? Im still kind of using small jars with boveda to hold the stash being opened and closed to retrieve the flowers to roll or in my case to stuff in the bowl so its getting opened and closed several times a day depending.

I use the 1 OZ bags, and have since last harvest season. Some bags are on their 3rd round now, and still holding up well. The kids smoke a lot more than I do, and haven’t turned a bag over yet that has been worn out.

I have a couple of one oz bags that I keep handy. I only open a jar or bag once every day or two and pull out what I need for, like I said, one or two days.

Kind of same here. Smaller mason jelly jar with 58% boveda in it.

That’s actually the only thing I use Bovida packs for. Anything else that I might have to re-hydrate will be done with fresh cut leaves. It works quicker, you just have to pay attention to not overdo it.

I’ve read on this as well. As mammals we have a cannabinoid system in our bodies which allows use to metabolize a little THC if not decarbed that breaks it down so it can be fully absorbed by the body. If a person has a cannabinoid system that’s tuned a little differently their bodies still won’t breakdown and metabolize the THC will just pass through with other waste. That’s what I understood.

Great thread with great info. You guys sold me on these bags and I already have my order in. I’ve been trying to take more advantage of modern innovations that do things better than the ways I’ve always done them. I live in a very dry climate and have always struggled with perfecting the drying and curing process. It’s very delicate and easy to mess up in dry air. And yep on more than one occasion I’ve pulled out the jars and opened them up, smoked out and 3 hours later remembered that my precious buds are wilting in the open air.

I love seeing the recent talk about the Cannatrol. I thought I had got the thoughts of buying one of those bad boys out of my system but seeing more testimonials might put me over the edge. And then you just take your buds out of the Cannatrol and clean up the trim and throw them in the Grove bags for a few more months. Man I’ve been doing it wrong.

$1600 for a Cannatrol doesn’t really seem that bad after researching trimming machines. Someday I may spring for a Triminator Mini or something along those lines but that’s just being lazy and valuing my time. The Grove bags and Cannatrol help you finish the job right after investing all that time and effort in your plants up to that point. This is all for me and the occasional buddy in need. I don’t need a fancy trim but I want a nice clean smooth flavorful smoke to enjoy for all that trouble. I’m selling myself on spending more money …

Smoke is pretty good. It’s a different experience than the jar the jar has it’s nuances that the bag does not give.Smells are not as loud as the bags but jars give a deeper profile to the taste that has more sutilties that you pick out over the loud.Like the GG4 Chem 91 cross in the bag was a very pungent loud gassy skunk earth funk the jar it came out more twords a Chowards purple spice gum flavor with a skunky sweet floral smell.Smokes were about the same with the bag cure more of a racey head stone the jars are just plain Stoned feeling but about the same effect

@CapnCannabis ,
I don’t have the nose to distinguish subtleties in the profile. When I did a jar to bag comparison I could, however, tell a slight difference in the two. But as you said, the high was the same pretty much. In smoothness, though, the bags shined above the jars. That’s probably because I was forgetful when it came to burping a few times.
Thanks for the update. Great information.

Oh so I totally forgot to report back damnit stoner brainer sorry @MoBilly :rofl:. So my SAMSQUANCH OG got a 12 day dry then 4 wks in Grove bags smoke was amazing taste, smell, everything. Super sticky still needed little more time had to use 2 papers for a joint to stay lit but that’s on me not the bag. My superglues got cooked a bit so smell isn’t really there but again smokes great, rolls great and lost none to bud rot or mold. I put so some in way to wet but just left open for couple hours shake it around and it leveled out to 63%. Even let some cure at 65% 5 weeks was down to 63% good to go! My jars work nice but it’s a lot more work. Plus I have a tendency to forget things like oh ya burping jars put kids in now.

Had mine 5 or 6 mos now i guess. Took my jars to the dump. I have had no issues with them at all. Get the bud right % going in, then LITFA…sure works for me.
