The one pheno of Icedcube I had smelt like a xmas fruit cake. You got a great selection of plants going this season. Going to be spoiled for choice

So def not smelling fruit on the Iced Cube, but certainly some kind of cake. The only female I got is very petite and branchy. Really short internodes. She may not hold up once she buds. The 2 males looked much different, much larger leaves, nice spacing between nodes. Time will tell what happens with this girl.

On another note… I don’t know what in the hell is going on with me. My first day of being completely alone for the day since my desert trip. Honestly, I can’t stand being away from my man. No idea why I feel so needy. I’m an only child, am self-employed, been living alone for years. I love my alone time. I excel at being alone. So WTF? Seriously, I’m not myself. Wondering if this is just something with my anxiety disorder. I have to force myself to go work in my garden today. I know that will occupy my mind, I also have some work I have to do later, but I don’t want to. Wish I knew what my problem was.

I have faith in the Ice Cube… fingers crossed for you on her.

On another note… I cant offer no advice on your feelings or emotions cos I’ve also been living alone the last 20 years and generally cant wait for people to leave when they visit… person depending obviously :joy::joy::joy:

Usually I am the exact same way! I am doubtful I would feel this way if it were anyone other than my man. Although, I’ve gotten tired of him over the last 8 years at times and have sent him home. I’m pushing 50 here though and going through some hormonal shit. Ahh… aging is so much fun. I’m calling this life stage Reverse Puberty

Oh, I remember why I came in here. Wanted to show you guys my new Wandering Jew ! It is outstanding with the pink leaves! I have a dark purple variety out in the shade. I posted a bunch of my African Violets on a local neighborhood app for free just to make more space for it in my plant window. My violets multiply like rabbits. lol. The violets were snatched up by my neighbors in 10 mins flat. Like a seed run or something.

@Sunvalley on a whole different note… Have you read anything about Humic Acid negating the effects of chlorine and chloramine coming from tap watering? I just recently saw something. I’ve never used it before. How often and how would I use it if I were to procure some? Any ideas, my organic guru brother?

Any grow shop should sell it. But good compost will do pretty much the same job. If memory serves me correctly I think apple cider vinegar also had some benefits in buffering out chlorine.
Depending how much chlorine is in your water, if you have a well established bed, and low chlorine water, you shouldn’t run in to too many issues watering from the tap as whatever soil life is killed will grow back relatively fast …
I would still get a few 50 gallon containers and a pump and water from there after letting the water sit a day.

Edited… molasses is also said to help kill the chlorine. 1tbl spoon to 5 gallon I think it was

I couldn’t remember what the scientific name was. They’ve always been called wandering jews since I’ve ever known them. Nowadays everything is offensive to someone. My deep apology if I did offend.

Ripped out all the insane grass out of one of my flower beds and the dead sweet peas. Just went at it for hours. Found a colony of black widows. Hoping I’m not bit. So far not noticing anything but the last er trips from them took like 12 hours for the bites to surface and poison me. I did wear gloves, but short sleeves and long pants.

Anyway, found this beauty in another bed. Enjoy!

Planted this today, Kalanchoe and Portualaca. Gonna look cool when it fills in…

The Portualaca get trailing flowers like this…

Here is one of my huge planters that I tore up yesterday. It was overrun with grass, spent Johnny jump ups and sweet pea remnants. I pruned down all of the plants I’m keeping. Bought a boat load of mulch today. Gonna mulch the hell out of it and now I have another excuse to buy more plants to fill it back in.

My little strawberry planter

Bulbs from the mystery box I planted in spring. I think they are allium. Pretty cool

My Poblano Peppers again, getting bigger. Don’t know when to harvest them. I think they get another 2 or 3 inches longer. Anyone know?

Thanks! Me too! The containers, I was just over it. My plants are looking smaller than last year at this time. They are growing like “weeds” right now, starting the stretch, but I think I got a few petite girls this year. Honestly, I don’t mind, the big suckers just take too much time to care for and can be a pain in the ass. For some reason the middle row in there are gonna be the biggest 3 the garlic, SSDD and PWC. I’m thinking 6 to 7 feet. We’ll see what the rest do. The Kashmir is just growing crazy sideways, not sure how that bitch is gonna end up getting staked. I’m hoping she gets tall enough so at least I can cram all her crazy octopus limbs through the first trellis layer.

This year’s cheese is very sativa dominant. Really skinny leaves. She resembles the UFS 18 I grew last year. If she ends up like that plant I will be stoked. The UFS last year was only 5 feet, and I got a dry pound off of her. She was all bud, hardly any leaves and the only one that had zero bud rot. If the cheese turns out the same as it… Hallelujah!!

So my garden in general this year has served both as a depressant and anti-depressant for me. Fall and Winter I was depressed with all the Covid crap so I did nothing out there. I’m paying for it now, cuz the bermuda grass is like 3 feet high in all my planters, shading stuff out, sucking up all the water. The drought is so bad this year, we had literally zero rain fall. So many of my bulbs came up vegged, started a bud then died before finishing flower. I can tell it’s just the lack of water and the uneven watering from being done by hand. Now I go out there and am stoked on my cannabis, but want to commit suicide whenever I look in all my flower planters. The really long planters that line the entire wall back there are a nightmare. I couldn’t dig that grass out now even if I wanted too. Gonna have to deal with it until the heat of summer finally beats it back then start over digging it out and mulching after cannabis harvest. sigh. You guys know how much I love my flowers especially from bulbs and my more exotic ones, but they require so much water. I’ve actually started thinking of ripping a lot of my plants out and putting in more drought tolerant flowering shrubs and bushes. More Cali natives and wildflower types. What kills me is all of the bulbs and flowers I love are the super stinky ones and most of the drought plants just aren’t. Kills me a little inside. lol

Anyway, my front rose planter at one point had 4 60 year old rose bushes that my Gramps planted. He started killing them once he got pretty bad with the Alzheimers. Since I moved in about 15 years ago, 3 in the front died and all but one in the back. I planted one of these rose bushes, but the last few years the planter just looks pretty naked. In spring it’s filled with Daffodils and Freesia, but come summer it’s half empty. I just haven’t found the perfect rose bushes for it yet. I did find 2 more primrose plants to fill it in a bit for this summer. Weeded it out and mulched the crap out of it today. It’s looking much better at least.
