Growing Trees with Meesh 2021

I let most of them live except the black widows after 3 ER visits year before last. Been trying to eradicate them, but I have full on colonies.

My ex suggested that it may be a brown widow. I googled it and indeed it was. Luckily, they are just as poisonous, but release less venom and are less aggressive than their black counterparts.

The wife is looking over my shoulder this morning lol … when she got up with her morning doobie, she asked if you had posted anymore pics of your garden, so here we are! lol She says jealous doesn’t describe what she feels lol it’s one part jealousy and one part nostalgia for her missing babies and another part determination to get things back to ‘normal’…for her, that means a LOT of flowers and stuff like that. lol I don’t get into growing anything i can’t eat or smoke, but i do love her passion! It seems you’re her match in that respect. lol

Was just checking last year’s log. The first plants to bud last year were Blue Dream and Blue Gelato 41 on July 22nd. I’m curious to see if this year’s Blue Dream starts on the same day. I’m really tripping on the Cheese now, she started like 2 weeks ago.

My entire garden wasn’t in bud until August 5th according to my 2020 log. Not looking like the Blue Dream will bud tomorrow.

The heavy pruning made the Orange Goji go crazy. The SSDD and Garlic are 5 feet now. Much smaller plants this year it seems.

That’s interesting, here in the Midwest we’ve had so much rain that at times have been afraid that my plants were going to get drowned. My tallest plant is about 9 feet tall now, and my back yard is not a very good place to grow in the past few years - way too much shade etc…

Not sure. Umm, seeds were started at the same time. I did have 3 fems that went straight into the ground and skipped the transplant last year to 2 gallon pots so that makes sense, the regs showed sex much later this year and went to ground later. The ag net cuts down sunlight a bit. The Kashmir was grower topping error, the Iced Cube was just really a runt of a female (the males were double her size) and I don’t know where I got the sour dubb seeds, but they seem like iffy genetics (hence the early herm). The fem cheese… No idea why she budded so early, much less stretch (same fem seeds from Seedsman as last year). The garlic, SSDD and PWC are over 5 feet, but hit the ground later. Orange goji just went in the ground earlier last year, but she’s really stretching now. Truly not sure.

Maybe the cheese started earlier due to the slightly less light with the Ag net overhead.

I’ve been using the 50% shade canopy (ag netting) for over a decade, and never had any start early because of them. I’m not sure that’d be the reason…?I do know that while everyone else’s plants were getting burnt up in heat waves, I had corn growing to over 12’ and kicking ass! All of the veggies and Marijuana does well for me under it.

Although this year, only the MJ lol no veggies growing.

The ag net only cuts less than 5% sunlight. It’s not even a shade cloth, so I doubt it is the reason for the cheese. Probably just a fluke.

I’m still gonna have some decent plants just not 8 and 9 footers like last year. Orange Goji is already to the 2nd layer of the trellis. The garlic and SSDD are past the 3rd and final layer and the PWC is following close behind. So 3 bigs and the other 6 not so much. Just the way it’s shaping up. Still a few weeks of the stretch though

Hell yes! I am so blessed! The only thing I love more than my garden and my dog is watching my man run around half naked on a tropical island.

My daughter got bit on the face and I got bit on the back by a BR last summer. It sucks! Her eye swole shut and the whole side of her face got huge, to me it felt like a bunch of bees took turns stinging the same spot. Took about a week for both of our bites just to close, then 5ish more weeks for it to heal (that’s with guidance from a doctor). I ended up bug bombing my home twice to make sure there weren’t any more of them.

I thought black widows were nasty until I saw what a BR bite could do. Your poor girl getting bit in the face. I can’t even imagine. That’s awful.
