Has anyone here defeated powdery mildew?

I’ve got a question is ozone not good at getting rid of PM and molds? I thought it was good for odor , mold and mold innthe grow room. But not to be use in the last stages of flower. Anyone know the Answers lol as I bought a ozone generator a few years ago ,just a small unit 600mg/per hour. I initially bought for zapping the odor outside my grow rooms.

I’ve heard it kills mold and mildew as well…have never heard of anyone actually attempting it though.
Apparently the O3 kills the terps or whatever gives the off the smell.
I still like giving the basement a good shock treatment every now and then…I think mine is 3.5gph.

Love the smell of sm 90. I still have some of that. Wonder if it goes rancid? When I did use it I didn’t really know how to grow back then. Lol what the best application for using this. Foliar spray in dark cycle?

It’s good for ‘keeping things clean’ basically. It’s a great foliar spray and also a great wetting agent to add to other stuff you’re spraying. You can water with it anytime too, it seems to help nute absorption and keep roots nice and white.

Shit I really love sm90 lol I need to get some. I think it’s made from coriander oil and seemingly benign but not I don’t think I’d spray it past a couple weeks of flowering.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned teas such as compost and or worm teas … get the good biology on the surface helps set up a protective barrier to help battle PM

You can use it (sm90) right up to Harvest

I’ve beaten it with neem but you’ve already tried that. You must have the new nasty strain I read about. Never tried this but came across this recipe in my notes…1) mild PM= one part fat free milk to 9 parts water. One drop dish detergent. 2) Bad PM= 5OOML fat free milk and soak 50 grams of rice in it for 3 days. Strain and use the same as mild PM. I would turn any air off and hit them in the evening to keep them wet with this mix for a night. Good luck if you try it!

Foliar application is what is needed

Cool thanks. That second recipe with the rice is to encourage lactobacillus growth I would guess. I’ve got some brewing now.

I’m actually taking a break from defoliating and spraying with potassium bicarbonate atm…the battle continues lol

Yes. I’m sure your right about the rice. I somehow missed this whole thread and thought your original post was still the only one. I know little about PM. I have some reading/ learning to do! Edit… just read post TWO about milk…sorry for the repeat.

Neem goes bad when it sits. I had no clue til recently. Never crossed my mind it could go bad. Perhaps you got old neem? Apparently the oils begin to break down after (6 months? Cant remember) some time.

Off topic, but yes they are. In New York they showed up when I grew lots of sunflowers. In Washington I had them really bad in one patch, but not the other larger one 200 feet away. The cause was a local plant, which may have been Indian tobacco ( I can’t be sure now due to memory but if it grows in Washington that was it). Once I pulled all of those plants in the area the whiteflies disappeared. It seems they preferred these other plants, but while in the area decided to visit my plants as well. Clean Green killed them but did not get rid of them. Perhaps you could bait them with their preferred meal in a different area and spray the little bastards there… Although clouds of them were taking off of my plants, I saw no visible damage in the two weeks i had them… however, I went slightly psychotic during those two weeks and I rarely gave them time to sit still and eat! Good luck!

A small update here. I’ve been foliar spraying lactobacillus (and watering it in) once a week for a few weeks now.

I didn’t see ANY pm at all for the first few weeks and was feeling pretty confident that I had it under control, but yesterday I spotted some showing up in my veg room and one flowering room 6 days after spraying.

It sucks because I had resigned myself to spraying once a week forever and would have been happy to do that if I never saw pm again, but sadly that’s not going to be the case.

I’ll continue with weekly sprayings and heavy defoliation for now, but still searching for something more permanent!

Edit: I will say I’m happier to spray with lacto once a week vs potassium bicarbonate as the PC seemed to mildly stress plants (particularly in flower the pistils would ‘burn’ and turn brown). The lacto is essentially pure water so at least I have no qualms about spraying any plant with it any time…
