The best was 90 followed by the 25, very nice.
Looks right to me! The thing is you need to find a good plant. It’s the final stage where you start a thunder dome and hunt for an excellent yielding plant. It varies from .1% up to probably 4% something from fresh frozen in the 90 bag.
Above GMO mutant. Basically 1%
GojiOG probably 3%
I do 2 mix cycles then pull.
Thanks @JoeCrowe I’m so used to doing this with older dried flower or crushed seed run dust that this really threw me off!
I did another heavier wash as the SSDD BX1 F2 had large colas so I might have been to gentle with the washer cycles. I got more on the secondary multi-run in the washer and it’s all just on the 25 in the freezer…
This was the place when running, but now it’s exploded and uncleaned.
…I deal with it later as the yeild gave me a case of the sads as I committed 3 out of the 4 plants to fresh-frozen even though this is my first time doing it with this cultivar.
Also i always end up with waste as i cant ever seem to get everything off my screens. How do y’all get your material off these things? I’ve been trying 1-2 frozen spoons and I still feel like an asshole everytime.
You are not wasting anything, you are making the most pure, most terp containing product possible, 4% is the holy grail of fresh frozen wash at 90u it seems when properly drained of excess water. 1 -2.5% seems much more common from my experiments. Once you simplify your process or run a number of bigger batches you’ll lose the feeling you are wasting anything. Pay attention to the quality differences in the fresh frozen plants, some sticky, some terpy, etc. Your body and especially your lungs would thank you if they could for not smoking all of that plant material to get to the benefits of THC and terpenes. Also, using a rubber spatula and blunted frosting knives makes getting the hash off the bag a snap. You develop technique after a few dozen pulls.
Thanks for both the words of encouragement and the tips @Mordecai ! I’ll look into getting a dedicated rubber/silicone tools and blunt frosting knives. Do you keep these in the freezer until you work with them?
I can relate to @Pigeonman,since I went the fresh Frozen I had premium quality but very low quantity,It seems like that plant I used was not a good yielder for hash!
Maybe the Key Is good genetic After you master the washing procedure
This is what I keep hearing/reading. I’m feeling blessed that I have a GMO cut from @Rhino_buddy that’s now gonna come in extra handy for fresh frozen! I have 6x GG4 RIL plants going as well for pressing… but has anyone done fresh frozen with this?
I mean I’m growing 6 plants and after 3 days of 12/12 and more than a week later after going back to 24/0 I see no balls and they did stretch so I’ve got a good GG4RIL Female “problem”.
With the SSDD there was literally nothing in the 45u! I took it outa the picture.
I don’t freeze them, but that is a good idea. I take the hash bag, drain it, then take a clean frisbee and put the bag filter on top of it and use it as a base to scrape the hash off the filter.
I put the bags into the freezer and after several weeks, go back and by then the hash has dried to a powder and i just rub it off over a collection tray
I really dig this. I’ve been rolling the bag on the edge of my bucket until it’s like a drum-skin. So far due to the cut nature of the bucket “rings” the only bag that stays taught is the 25u which is in the solid bucket with drainage holes. The surface area of the bucket and bag together keep the screen tight so it’s always my least annoying scrape-out.
If I pull the bag and use the frisbie I could bypass a bunch of faffing around.
It’s worth a try at least!
I had only 25 micron bag yield from mine,Guess the plant Is very not good for this extraction.
It also had a very greasy type of trichomes
I have a whole plant stabilizing to 62% RH for the Crushinator.
What Is that?It seems like some Fire death machine
It’s my nickname for my 6 ton rosin press.
Well then,it s gonna be dab-licious
@Pigeonman
90 percent of plants are shit, don’t sweat it. I’ve even run legal producers “extract” producing weed and it was a shit plant 1.6 percent. In order to be in the positive zone it has to extract at least 2 percent.
I’m talking about the 90 micron. Anything smaller is not worth extracting.
You guys are my heros.
Wow, you are on another level, one day later I might try to retrive some concentrate but right now hash from sugar leaves is what I can take advantage of.
I don’t really agree to get 100g of flowers and turn it i to 20g of hash and from that hash have like 2g of rosin, it’s a 98g loss.
I imagine a dab is much stronger but very different yelds.
@TastyCrop I hear that. I wouldn’t ever devote my entire harvest to 90u and trash the rest. There is plenty to enjoy about the stuff that ends up in the 73u bag too. Not to mention lovely flowers in my Dynavap:)
At the same time, I can also appreciate the pursuit of the highest quality in cannabis extraction, and will set aside flower that might deliver it. For that purpose, I’m also hunting a special clone.
I actually take several kilos of buds and make it into hash. I trashed that entire GojiOG plant and made 30 grams of hash. How much flower do I smoke? None. That shit gets in my lungs and fucks them up. So basically, I throw out the garbage and keep the goods. Not just any goods, but the most purified stuff I can get my mitts on. Gold medal level shit. All for me. Strip every trichome, and toss out the trash there too. Motherfucking sessile trichomes can kiss my hairy behind.
OK and then there is the second part of it. The elimination of all shitty plants. If the plant produces a 2% yield, you are never getting your value back. Might as well have smoked the buds and spent the next day coughing. The secret is when I am at 3%, the value of the hash I am pumping out far exceeds the value of the buds. So they might as well be in the trash.
My name is Hash Matty, and I will dab full melt hash all day long.
