Hash Making Revisited

Yah if you shaved it into tiny bits it would probably freeze dry. I think the pressing on it makes the trichomes goo together so there is no room for the moisture to sublime.

This thread has been inspiring,

@JoeCrowe @ReikoX @Pigeonman @ShiskaberrySavior you guys are doing things i didnt realize where possible in your basements! damn, it’s nuts. I can’t wait for the summer, I hope to have a cueball sized hunk of black hash like from when I was a kid and a near white crystalline fresh frozen jar and let the people decide who is best

heh heh from my experience, the fresh frozen extracts fly into the dab rig. Thanks for the props!

How did you powder that so fine?!

I used the spoon there next to it, and I just crush the hash kernels into powder. Doesn’t take long, and I do the work inside the freezer.

So I left the fresh-frozen in the freezer a few weeks now… but as piles…

Not my greatest moment but now when I went to try and cut it up with a razor blade it wont cut.

Frozen = too hard, semi-frozen = to hard, defrosted = stiff and sticky.

Should I get a microplane to sandify the piles for air drying?

Or can I leave it in my freezer for a long enough period that I then can just hand work the piles after defrosting?

Do I even work fresh frozen Frenchy Style or just leave it as collection piles?

:confounded:

What do you mean by piles? How was it prepared for freeze drying?

I collected everything into bird turds from the bags and put it in the freezer the grate it later… but then life took over and here i am

No prep. Just hash piles in diff grades looking at me from the freezsr.

It has to be really thin or small pieces in order to freeze dry, also it can’t be pressed. If it’s gooey I’ll pick it apart with the dab tool. There’s also the option of adding more water and mixing it with the hash until it becomes an puddle and freeze dry that. I prefer the picking it apart, because it dries faster.

Sound like picking time! Thanks for the suggeations @JoeCrowe !
