Help on feed ratio's and such

Bear with me, trying to think of how to ask what I want, lol.

So, I grow in a bottom feeding/wicking thing called an Octopot. Have for some time. My harvests and Bud are excellent, but I have been told by a friend(VERY advanced grower in Europe) that I , even with killer results, am feeding incorrectly and a change of my Bloom nutes will make the runs even better. He is trying to 'splain it to me, lol, but we have a language barrier and I’m having a hard time getting it to sink in!!!

The crux of the matter is this. I experience NO FADE, NONE, even at 12 or 13 weeks on a 10 week strain. I assumed it was my Octopot’s…IT IS NOT!!! I also see the “claw” later in flower IF I do not cut feed way back. I also have had some weaker stems than I remember having. The harvest’s are very green and lush, too lush, lol.

He gifted me my prized Amnesia Haze and has been staying on top of me making sure i run her to HIS standards.
He tells me I am using TOO MUCH N in my flower formula. WHY NO FADE, why weaker stems, why too “green” harvests. Tells me to get my RATIO’s RIGHT…i will see better harder firmer buds, NO CLAW, and let the plant do what it wants…to finish. Tells me I am CONFUSING the plant with TOO MUCH N in late flower, causing her to “believe” she still can live much longer. Tells me it is WHY I SEE so many fox tails in my grows too. He asked me for my npk’s on veg n bloom.
My VEG is 6.0 2.5 5.0 I run that all through veg, and 2.5 weeks INTO the flip.
On the 3rd week I switch to my bloom, which is 4.0 2.7 6.5

SOON AS HE SAW those numbers he says “BINGO” Too MUCH N. he tells me this, lol:

Mum = 1/1/1

Grow = 2/1/1 ( veg )

first weeks in flower ( flip ) = 2/1/1 if clawing adjust by adding some bloom to mix for a feed or two ( reduced n )

When flowering just starts = 1/2/2 or 0.5/2/2 or 0/2/2 ( depending on how much n you have stored in leafs during veg and early flip ( first 3 weeks of flowering )

after buds have fattened 0/1/2

this is just roughly speaking

A 0.5/1/2 would still be fine as n is negligible and not enough to confuse the plant after buds have fattened

So, took a few hours, but it kinda sunk in. Had a hard time understanding, but think I do now. He tells me my RATIO’S are whacked! Beginning to believe him now, but want some clarification if I can.

Tells me it is the RATIO that is important…get the RATIO correct, THEN adjust the strength by the EC

IE: He tells me this:

Like 1 ml 2/1/1

i add this to 1 gallon

10/5/5 , I add 5 gallons of water

ratios in mix are both the same and so is ec

So it does not matter WHAT the numbers are, LONG AS THE RATIO is proper. I would adjust the EC by the volume of the mix added to my water.

  1. AM I understanding this correctly???
  2. So any formula with the CORRECT ratio’s can be used, I just ADJUST the EC by the volue of it added to my REZ?

So, on the hunt to TRY HIS SUGGESTIONS. Have a run 21 days in right NOW. Want to change up my flower nutes, do not know what to get. I WILL stay organic, and NOT making my own stuff, looking to buy it already made.

The more I think about his words, the more i think he is 100% correct!

ANYONE have input for me???

Peace,

Jet

GEE THANKS Gentleman for the advise…LMAO!!!

Hey ole man…i am STILL capable of learning…EASY THINGS, this one…???

I KNOW he is correct now…even right NOW my A.H. has too much N…she appears 100% , BUT, her leaf tips are down, and I KNOW IT IS the N!!! Wow…Live n learn…

So…anyone have a suggestion for a ONE PART(NOT mixing) organic bloom formula for me along the Ratio numbers…???

Friend of mine was saying that SHIT too. He wanted to ride one of my Ebikes. Told him they are not toy’s and he needed to take it easy till he got a handle on it. He looks at me…“IF your OLD ASS can do it”…and off he went.

Within 5 minutes:

Thought that was you on the ground after learning how to ride.

Wick feeding is the problem, salt build up is the issue. If you can’t change your method, try more frequent flushing.

I grow Dwc and use GH 3 part flora series

The schedule is in veg 3-2-1 N—M- B

The transition to bloom is 2-2-2

And Bloom is 3-2-1 B-M-N

I follow that feeding schedule

Over the last 3 weeks of bloom I add less N and M and stay with the same amount of Bloom while adding a 1/4 tsp of kool bloom , for most strains there’s enough N-M in the rez to carry it the rest of the way, I think you will find some strains like more Nitrogen in the end than others (in my experiences.)

Hard dense buds imo have more to do with Strain and cure than too much Nitrogen in bloom phase.

Do not think you are correct, do not believe there is any salt build up.
I am changing ratios and will see how the current runs finish’s compared to the one that came down last week. Will tell me IF I am correct in my assumptions.

How do I get an EBike? I really need one.

I can wheelie for miles, bunny hop a good 2.5 feet, and flew down that hill in the background at 30 Mph and landed 73 feet out…on my back tire . Randal, well, he didnt land too well, as you see. Broken nose, sunglass lens embedded into his forehead, and crossed ey’es for 3 days.

You buy one or build one. I built mine, the one in the pic is store bought, Rad Rover, i have 4 ebikes.

Luna Cycle is where you buy the parts from . Go with a BBSHD motor kit(40 mph, wheelie power) and 52 volt battery.

They ROCK!!!

Those are awesome. I’ve rode a couple electric bikes but none with enough power to pull wheelies!

Mid drive motor…NOT HUB!!! Runs through my gears on my Felt DD10 (look it up)
I am running 3200 watts through it…

Here set up for “ADVENTURE CREEK RUNNING” can run up to about 2 feet deep in the water. 4 inch tires on in that pic, but have 26x2.5 27 x 3 and 26 x 4 inche tires/wheels.

I use MPK ( which i think is ; 0.34.52 ) - but you’d have to check it out.!?
I stick it in with molasses about 2/3 weeks in …
Hope this helps bud …
