Some say genetics
Some say environment
Some say stress.

I say don’t even worry about it.

Just for your reference this plant yielded 100g of quality smoke and it had bright red stems it’s whole life.

Full steam ahead.

Red can be a sighn of a deficiency but in your case I would vote on it being genetics.

yeah especially if its just the leaf stems and the plant looks good otherwise it is most likely genetic and no deficiency whatsoever. I thought the same at first and yeah, nutes not the problem lol.

I got some different colour stems too, they don’t seem to mind so I don’t do anything.

Yeah I agree the leaf petioles being red is NBD. But ive noticed if the stems start really turning red/purple, they get kind of hard and become less pliable than if they are lush green. I take that as a sign of a deficiency of some sort. Because ive noticed if I hit them w some ferts and they start growing rapidly, the newer growth wont have the red or purple. So dont know if it’s N, Cal/Mag, or a combo of them all, but normally I fertilize kinda heavy if its widespread and affecting the type of new growth I see.

Clones taken off the purple harder, less pliable stems seem to have more trouble rooting too, ime.

Plants are like people there skin change’s with age and diet. As the plant picks up more silica it’s skin gets thicker and tougher.

Phosphorus is usually the deficiency that causes red purple stems but you will also see it on the main stem and branches also, and the leaf tips will start to go grey green and become dry and crispy, if the leaves are good you don’t have a problem and it’s genetics.

Either genetics or if it’s just the tops of the leaf stems then it’s like a sun tan…

Don’t forget that the problem can go away but the physical body retains the damage.

tbh i never pay attention to stems unless it’s something obvious. most deficiencies will show up in the leaves first anyways. base your plants health on new growth and leaf color

I agree if you watch the oldest and the youngest leaves you can learn to spot most if not all types of nutrient related issues.

Purple stems can just be the genes my shiva dawg and atf turned that rhubarb color and the plants are very healthy with no deficiency at all

looking up at all that purple💜

admittedly she has been punished for no fault of her own  But I think genetics had a lot to do with it also
keep up the good work

You need to give it more ferts. Get some miracle grow or something and feed it.
