I haven’t had chance to read through the whole thread yet,but does she have a gall bladder still? I had mine removed when I was 22 and haven’t been able to use edibles because I can’t process them as before. I heard lecithin and digestive bitters might help, but I haven’t tested them yet. Wouldn’t explain smoking tolerance, but like @nefrella said, people in pain might just be brought to a normal place.i know my back pain is relieved by smoking, even though I don’t really feel the psychoactive affects. I need a good break.
Saw some stuff called undoo, marketed to folks that are too high. Guess it’s a pill with olivetol, and it helps to clear your receptors. I need to investigate it more though.
Good luck man! I’ll be looking through this further.
You’re good . I have a friend here he has a problem with certain things . He can’t eat edibles they don’t do anything for him . Especially when you’re looking for alternative medicines . I can tell you something that will help but you have to be very careful because you could get tobacco poisoning or nicotine poisoning . Get some quality tobacco and mix it .
You mention that you had some success with a transdermal, I wonder if you were to make a salve with a very heavy dose of decarbed RSO or other concentrate and include some DMSO, which is used to massively increase the rate of absorption. I have never used it, but I seem to recall @misterbee describing it’s use and effectiveness somewhere on here (can’t find the thread ATM).
Also, and reiterating what has been noted above, diet is key to improving any particular condition and of course for net improvement in well-being more holistically. If she’s getting some guidance diet-wise from her doctor that’s awesome, but if not maybe talk to a reputable Naturopath. I don’t necessarily mean a new doc, just suggesting she might benefit from a second opinion arrived at via alternative lenses, as it were. Either way it might be worth considering getting on the AIP (“Autoimmune Protocol”) diet, or at least try eliminating most foods known to contribute to inflammation.
DO N-O-T INGEST DMSO ORALLY!!! Topically ONLY. It WILL work transdermal, indeed, actually accelerating ANY mixture straight to the pain source. Best of Luck, SS/BW…mister
Lots of recipes floating around. I find dissolving/mixing however much concentrate you want to use into whatever oil you want to use (Grapeseed and MCT are my go-to), and then melting in some beeswax at somewhere around a 4:1 or 5:1 (Oil/BW) ratio. It’s really just mixing the three things together, DMSO too if you want to use it.
Much more finely-tuned formulas to be found for sure.
So, I’m willing to definitely try the tolerance break, cleansing system thing. Although 5 years ago I cleaned out my system completely! Man I took like a 3 month break or something crazy like that and still had issues, I can’t say it really helped. I have always had this issue with RX meds and herbal meds. The normal dose people would take doesn’t really hit me. I smoke at least a gram of dabs a day if not more and its killing the bank account! I know people that can make a gram last like a month and I can’t make them last 24hrs. Sometimes when Mr. Paws thinks he’s being funny, he will load me up a dab and start heating, then I look and he’s given me literally the entire gram in one hit! Okay no biggie, I took the entire gram dab at once! The funny part was I didn’t cough off it but he did from the cloud! Anyways the amount of dabs is much more the issue than the random edibles… I really don’t do the edibles as much as it sounds, although when I do, the 100mg packages just relax me and make me able to function. Honestly for my pain I used to put medicinal patches on when there were still 100mgs for medical now can only find them in 10mg doses. Anyways I used to put a 100mg sativa patch on 1 foot, and an indica on the other to help me get through my work day!
@Lady.Zandra63 I have tried pretty much everything I think. I have been in all departments of the industry, medical collectives, farmers markets, and recreational. Met a TON of people that have given me tips, advice, or even “homework” gotta know your product. It seems to be high tolerance to everything! Including the pain, I have a very high threshold for pain to so when it’s bad it’s really bad! I mean I’ve be working and running around with 2 torn ligaments in my ankle… but I just slap on a support brace and go to work. It’s been 10 months since injury. So I’m starting to think it won’t heal itself. I just feel like when the typical person daily is a 0-3 on the pain scale, my typical day is 5-10 although I power through what I have to. Eventually I crash and Paws takes good care of me! Invisible illnesses hits SO MANY PEOPLE!
THANK GODNESS FOR THE CANNABIS!
(Also thanks to OG for having a community of people here to share tips, tricks, suggestions, and much much more! Excited to learn how to navagate around the site!)
Thanks for input! I’ve tried sooo many pharmaceuticals dealing with chronic pain for last 20 years. I have been on both gabapentin and lyrica… and many more over the years! I quit going to the Dr or hospital for it and self medicate because I was tired of being a guinea pig trying medication after medication! I even went through the trial for disability at one point when I was younger! The judge said i had done too much research and made it up! After fibromyalgia took away sooo many activities that I used to do I was 10 years in at the time and it’s just a shame. I would not give up a healthy life to fake being in pain everyday for 10 years to get told I faked it all! But since then I have learned how to fight through more pain than I thought possible.
Ugh, I hear ya.
I gave up on docs after I had to go through a dozen spinal epidurals just to get pain meds - that whole pain clinic thing.
I went to one pain clinic and when I met the doctor I commented to her the irony that her waiting room had a big picture of a Koala since they get stoned all day on eucalyptus which activates their own opioid receptors. She wasnt impressed by the irony nor my amount of research into nerves, pain, and medicines.
There was an experiment on rats where they saw how much they will fight to survive.
The experiment showed they will fight to live more than twice as long if they have a momentary respite.
I feel like thats what psychedelics do.
