This is my current dyer I’m about 350 deep on this all in. I have a thread on here with the breakdown on that unit. Both of these are easy to re-create DIY ideas. Cheers buddy !!!

If you’re looking for a low-temp dehy to try, this goes from 70-195, plus has an ambient air mode:

Same temp range, bigger, not sure it has ambient mode:

Heading back to the future. Less than $30 including the fancy clips above. A more comfortable drying experience at >10% of the green machine. Don’t like the handling necessary for xmas tree style drying. Dude you got a beautiful harvest out there. Wanna nother machine for seed or like food grade canna stuff? Trade for any amount of Sativa. Work at SFO so we can connect somewhere over there. Holla.

They are bad ass for sure. I think I paid $200 for a refurb for my first Excalibur 9 tray, but I got my second one at a tag sale for $5…it was used once!

All you need for that Ronco to work the same as the HerbsNow dryer is a new rheostat…digital or otherwise. The switch is what lets the juice flow to the heating coil. Get a switch with the right parameters and they will function the same.

They are both still puny imo. I’d need a gaggle of them to dry what I grow.
I do still have a 2nd generation Ronco dryer here but almost never use it anymore.

No, once drying process is complete “stems breaking” buds are ready to smoke or begin curing. No harshness full flavor. :100:

No, that is old info based on opinions and preferences. Im sorry but the so called “experts” dropped the ball and did not do the homework.
Data clearly shows long extented dry times are probably the worst thing you can do to buds. This is why my dryer beats slow and low in laboratory testing. Over and over and over and over again😉

I would like to see this data. Do you have a link?

I use my 3+ year old Herbs Now dryer.

Pros: Quick dry for an early taste of Herb

This is the only reason I use them (2) for , quick drying.

I liked the idea of “set it and forget it”. Load it up press on, check back 96 hours later.

Cons: Dries too much, when you just “set it and forget it”. I found I dont have time to, add a shot glass of water, or monitor ounce or twice daily for snappiness. The idea that “User error” is even an issue is a Con. Because the “Traditional” hang dry of 7-14 days, is a “set it and forget it”, only checking towards the end days. And the options of hanging heavy branches or smaller whole plants is a way of controlling the speed of dryig at the begining.
If I’m able to put my hand over a machine stacked with four trays and “Feel air”, then I know it is too much blowing in such a confined area. It is more “air blowing” on them then I would have while hanging.

Is it because I have Older models? Maybe

“Demonstration beats conversation”, is my motto, and after years of demonstrations, these are my opinions. A “Valid opinion” because of my prior years of use.

I still use my machine, for bud testing only

I’ve always wondered about these things and never been around them in person. This seems to answer my wonder. Pretty much what I assumed, but we know what happens when you assume. Haha. Thanks for sharing!!

I recently took little nugs of 2 plants put em behind TV. Considered dryer but…

The machine works. Dries buds in a smaller space. Then jar em and cool. Didn’t like the handling and dont like flat flowers.

$300.02

HerbsNOWdryer.com you can also look up grow weed easy she spent about 7k on lab testing only to find out yes it works. That was a epic day. Her goal was to debunk me. BooYah!!!

Stand buds up like christmas trees:evergreen_tree::evergreen_tree::evergreen_tree::evergreen_tree: you good2Go:100:

Yes, I linked to that before and the only comment here was that it seemed like an advertisement.

I find the dryer perfect for what I’m using it for. Best method I have available with my limited indoor space and does a great job catching all the seeds (I rarely produce unseeded cannabis).

So glad I bought one… would love to see the following along with a reduction in price (just putting it out there):

  • adjustable temperature down or mechanism to turn off the heating element all together and just have the fan going
  • An opaque black version (I have the green)
  • Better smell control (I have the charcoal filter)

I agree. I’m not 100% stoked with the results of using forced air drying but it was much better than what these forums would lend you to believe. I use a nesco with extra shelves, heating element removed. Each tray is approximately 14" across and holds 1.5 ounces. Once your buds are crispy in to a jar they go, after about a week or two the texture goes from slightly crispy to moist and velvety.

Your house will smell like bud, no way around that. Come harvest time my neighbors must know

Did it and it worked as advertised. Didnt like all the handling needed to stick small branches in.

Why would most growers dry their weed nice and slowly over a week or 2 if data says its worse thing you can do to buds. I mean i just goggled “best way to dry bud” and every site i clicked on says dry it nice and slowly. Are we all missing summink here and doing it wrong altogether ?

I also wonder what they would class as long extended drying times, do they mean weeks, months or years, i just dont know. But yes id like to read that data if you got a link cus i may need to rethink how i dry and cure my weed if that’s case
