Soooo… 4 cubic feet of sunshine #4 mix is not even enough to fill 3 octopots
Had to top off the last one with coco/perlite. Didn’t even plant a 4th one. No soil at all. Not that I’d know what to run anyways… a second mamilk? rerun the c5ss girl? meh… Likely just stick with the TK, the Mamilk F3 #3, and the Lemon Cheese Haze #11 for now, in that order.
Maybe i’ll hook up the last one once the SSDD clones root… I moved the carbon filter to the floor for this winter. That’s the shiny thing on the left there. Gonna try and keep the heat up towards the floor. Don’t mind the stick, was testing filter stands
Still need to make up some bug killing spray… Anyways, give these a week or two and then flip
Makes sense to either call it a remix or just straight use a new name since the SSDD in the cross isn’t the same. Sounds like a fun remix / cross to explore!
Hi bro you don’t need to fill the bag all the way I only fill mine to 12 or 13 inches high
The manufacturer suggests to fill any where from 12 inches at the least
It saves on a bit of soil
Don’t pack it too tight also
Wondering if i should redo it then @Joker was saying the same thing you are. 12-14 inches. I think even the ‘rocket’ sleeve/bag is 15 inches… These bags are 18 inches tall fully filled as it is. It’s not really an issue for me though for now. I don’t have a different plant to stick in there so can get more soil later… Might regret it come mid/late flower though. I have about 4ft from top of the pot to max light height.
dude… reach in the seed stash with closed eye… swirl around grab a pack and what ever it is run one seed. maybe you get a super male or a surprise smoke later !
I think next beans getting soaked are gonna be the NorthStar x StarShine
aka
(C5SensiStar F3 #5 x (A5 S1 x NL5 BX8)) x (SSDD F2 #1 x (A5 S1 x NL5 BX8))
Speaking of, literally just got done dropping the NorthStar #4 x StarShine beans into a shot glass of water and h2o2.
The NS #4 was the, take a hit and drool on the couch/stare off into the distance, for ~20 minutes before it eases into a functional daytime high. Soaked all 9 of the beans I had.
I have double the amount of NS #3 x StarShine beans left. NS #3 was the totally clear functional one that was most like the c5ss mom, just wasn’t my favorite smoke of the pack. See what happens. I haven’t stored either of these beans properly at all, just been sitting on a shelf for a couple years.
Yeah we’ll see what happens here. I’m pretty good on keeping her in-line these days. Just gotta stay up on crushing those stems. The clone i’m using was shaded most its life too so it’s all scraggly not gonna make flower any easier that’s for sure.
Just hoping I can manage these with only ~4ft of space for them to grow in.
Yeah 4 girls was the plan but no more soil and I don’t really have a 4th clone to run unless I double up on the mamilk or something. I could run them tentless but that only gives me an extra ~6inches or so of height. The 4x4 tent I’m using is actually 54" x 54" x 79" but the room its in only has 84" floor to ceiling. I can flat palm the ceiling just standing there
I think you’re going to like growing in octo’s. You get monster plants with little effort, use less nutes, dont have to ph the water unless you really want to. I love the octo and I’ll probably never use anything else.
3 already have tails. Quicker than both the nl5 f7 and the tk bx1 and these ns/ss beans, legit, have sat on the shelf in my medicine cabinet since ~december of 2021
All of the above? Just gonna see what shakes out really.
The NS4 girl that is the mom of these beans, was the strongest of the bunch I ran. Her high would cut through anything else like butter, save for maybe the c5ss girl that was HER mom.
The StarShine aka Starlite Daydream male put out some tropical/blueberry-ish bangers with the pain relief from the ssdd girl that was HIS mom.
Basically the two best plants I’ve made so far, put together. It’s either gonna double up on the Haze traits, or we’ll get to see some neat variation from the nl5, chem, and blueberry mixing.
NorthStar #4 x StarShine in the second and third rows
Most if not all the NL5 popped, but then all but the 3 in the first row there at the bottom rotted/molded in the plugs. So 3 out of 10 on those. Maybe 2 by the looks of it. Guessing that’s that ‘inbreeding depression’ that’s talked about
I went like 5/7 on the NSxSS beans that sat on a dry shelf for 2-3 years lol
This is always the worst part. Once they get past this stage, it’s golden.
In other news, I am loving the way the C5SS F4 #3 male looks
