How do you clone?

Only if you dont drink enough to forget about the problem :joy:

Sterilize them first.

All of this is sound advice.

Mine is quite simple. 7-10 day rooting. Plug and play. The hydroton is easy to work with. A neoprene ring would be just as good.

I find adding just a touch of N to the water keeps them from yellowing out.

Anybody ever cloned using “griffins tech?” I got all the stuff I need to try it out for the first time and will clone as soon as the moms have big enough branches.

If u will

get a dome…
Use rapid rooters just like they come.
They will moist enough.
Add a cup or 2 of 6.2 ph water in the bottom of the tray not allowing the plugs to touch the water.
Replace lid on dome and DO NOT REMOVE DOME FOR 3 DAYS

Make sure u can see the condensation on the inside of the dome.

Cut your cones at a slant.i even sometimes on hardwood cuttings SCRAPE THE STEM.
Do not wait after cutting to dip in clonex rooting hormone. Do it immediately…
I have 90 tp 100%. Doing it like this

HOOD LUCK

Let us know how the next ones turn out…Bigun

Yup. That’s what my diy cloner looks like.
Bucket with 7 holes, 3 inch netpots cut to only 1 inch deep, and 3 inch cloning collars.
They get wet enough from the bubble action from the aerator stone.
Plain RO water until roots are established, then very light nutes.

I made one like that too, but it doesn’t work very well for me. Get pretty low success rates. Rapid rooters, Coco, heat mat + dome. A squirt of h2o2 in the water in the dome every couple days.

Honestly KISS has been the best for me.
A few different methods above with less variables.
Also i never snip my leaves anymore. Because all the energy the plant has, to produce new roots, is all stored in the leaves.

I use rockwool from Ikea, and RootIt :stuck_out_tongue:

IKEA has rockwool! I learn something new everyday.

They have discontinued the product line sadly, but I bought several packages with the rockwool starters

i love using aeroponic cloning, clones throw roots fast! since moving to commercial im moving away from anything involving pumps. ive since started using rapid root plugs and trays with domes. my commercial grow is in the country and when they lose power it could be for a day or two, which would guarantee death for an aero cloner.

i make the cut, dip in clonex gel and stick it in the plug. i then dont even look at the tray for 10 days. after about 15 i can move them to cups and go about my business.

Simple domed seedling tray with coco as media. Cut, dip into root hormone, stab into the coco, top on 7days.
Take top off, wait another 7 days, pull healthy rooted cuts out , pretty simple, 100 % rate if I do it right.

@ReikoX
Somewhat ot, but I’m curious, can auto’s be cloned?

-Cut of plant, hold in mouth while dickin around.
-Angle cut, dip in hormone
-Half ass suspend in cup of water some how,
-Stick in shitty cool barely lit damp bedroom
-LITFA
-Get bored of waiting after bout 5 days,
-Slam in soil and wait

So far somehow I’ve got like a 99% success rate lol

Anyone ever try griffins tech?

I think you can clone them but you can’t stop them from flowering

Yeah that was my suspicion as well.
I’m currently running 4 autos, first timer.
Bigger pots right out of the seed coat.
Certainly calls for experimentation though…
… and that means EFG!

This run i dipped in gel and powder then dipped em all again at day 3.
