I ended up just taking a serrated knife and carving off the bottom and a bit of the sides and planting it in a container of fresh coco.
It’s currently under a low power florescent light while I clean out and prepare the veg cab.

Very nice work Howard… that’s what I was talking about… cut the roots like a slice of cake!
Do you lift plants from their pots this way when you’re not planning to uppot. Does such inspection bother them?
The only time I ever remove a living plant from the container it’s in is to perform a transplant or root pruning a mother or reveg.
As far as I can tell, it has never caused any noticeable problem.
I’m running out of headroom way too fast with these. I keep triming them back and bending the tops, and they don’t even slow down.
Two or three days ago I thinned them out enough that the light could reach the bottom of the flood tray, and by this morning there been so much regrowth that there are almost no breaks in the canopy
So even though I’d prefer to give them a little longer first, I went ahead and set the light timer to 12/12 yesterday. Last night was their first twelve hour night.
Here’s a few shots I took this morning right after the lights came on.
very healthy plants
thank you for a look at your work
all the best
Dequilo
It’s pretty thick in there Howie and all perfect looking.
Known as “hybrid vigor” and you be correct, they display it BIG TIME…
They sexed yet???
Haha! Prepare for the stinkiest damn plants EVER! The skunk smell is strong with this jedi. Yum
Thank you. Been appreciating your grows as well
Nothing is sexed yet. They’re still at that stage where I think I might be able to tell, maybe, or I can just wait a week and not have to trust my lying eyes
Hehe, you know that’s exactly what I’m looking for! Been a bit since I last grew one that was out of control, eyes watering while trimming, can’t keep it in your pocket stinky. I will consider myself very fortunate indeed if I end up with something stanky like that
And especially looking forward to the smoke, after that report you gave
I have a cool cheap hand held magnifying glass with a like 40x or maybe 50 x little center high power spot. Has a little led light shinning on what your looking at too, only way my eyes can do it. Those plants will be showing sex at that size I would think.
Whoever grew Meesh’s samples must of got it right. The Orange I have is out of control and not to be contained easily, lol.
Howard, you will not need to ask anyone here IF you grew them well, you will know if you do!!! No doubt about it.
Maybe I am wrong but I have found, personally speaking, that loud Bud comes from LOUD plants. You got it right if your entire home/apt/garage smells like orange goji at like week 7 or 8!!
They already stink in veg. When I open the tent it’s unmistakable. I have high hopes, haha.
LMAO
Then your sensitive. Their vegetative smell is just that, a nice pleasant smell…in flower, THEY REEK…like the dungeon of Dank where Ramsey kept “Reek”. You watched GOT???
I’ll bust out the powered USB microscope tomorrow and take a peek at their bits.
I don’t have a sensitive sniffer by any means. I’m not saying they smell like plants in flower, but they sure as heck don’t smell like tomatoes
I haven’t had weed that reeked this much in ages. Just have the final product, but it can be smelled from inside the bag in another room! If you love skunk smell, you will be thrilled!
The last days of flower, week 10, I let mine go 10 full weeks, when I came into my backyard I could smell them. They are upstairs and in a back room ! Open my door…OMG , was not much doubt what it was, lol.
I do not use any form of smell reduction however.
They gonna let you know they are happy if you do your part.
Was just looking at your thread, checking out your plants. Took a close look. Saw you have a major problem, figured since I like you I should say something.
See the different shades on the leafs. of color I mean. Lots of light green new leaf. Nice darker older lower, bright much lighter new growth. Look close at the leafs. Their size and shape and level of crispness. Look all the way out to the tips. Note their width, angle of attack, and general overall appearance. Notice anything???
My take:
They are feeling so good, growing so fast, their are at optimal growth. They are exploding. You just threw down 12/12
the problem you have is it is going to get out of control on you ! LOL!
To be honest Howard, I rarely see that look outside of the very very best grows. My ladies look like that, but it is not me, my Octopots take care of all that shit, I just fill the rez and get back. Those plants here, if you continue to do whatever your doing, what r u doing…flood n drain…hand water…forgot, will have to go look, are going to be, or could be monsters! I know the genetics and see it in them. Wanted to say I am impressed big time, you are showing what 50states plant is capable of, and being a fan of OG, had to tell you what a nice job !!!
You did the right thing flipping them . What did you tell me 16-18 inch’s or so??? To make 10-14 ounces monsters in my Octopots I turn about there. Turn normal runs at 12 inches or less.
If you can provide each of them with 2 plus gallons of wawa a day in deep flower, your gonna have a large, stinky, sticky, and heavy harvest in that tent…or whats left of it when they finish, lol.
Heh. Every day I watch paler tops get progressively darker by the end of the day, only to be replaced by more pale tops, lol. I love seeing the gradients in the leaves as they start to darken, I find it very visually appealing.
I don’t think there’s any way these are going to get as large as yours in only one gallon pots, which I’m hoping will work on my favor. They’re already drinking two gallons a day between them, so I know they are going to be very thirsty very soon. It’s a good thing for me that I have this automated with Flood and Drain, I wouldn’t want to try keeping up with hand watering.
