So with a flood & drain, does a timer control a pump and the drain? Or is the drain always open the pump just runs for 15 minutes but its putting more fluid into the table than is draining out?

Id think things would be pretty complicated to have a timer controlling a drain solenoid, a pump on a timer, and a float valve to switch off the pump when the table is full. Sounds complicated but what do I know?

Typically in an E&F it is a single pump that floods, gravity drains the flood table through the pump. There is usually also an overflow that let’s you set the flood height.

Then simple easy peezy set up …very cool. Had I NOT Octopots, THAT is how I would run.

That is indeed how I have mine set up. There is a single pump controlled by a timer that pumps water up into the flood tray, which has an overflow standpipe set to two inches high so that water starts to drain when it reaches that height. Then when the pump shuts off, the entire tray just drains back down through the pump.

Gif is very cool and explains it all well. I want to try it for some reason, just looks easy and a great way to feed, plus as you know, Im a bottom feeder myself, lol!

Note to self: the Orange Goji are drinking more than half a gallon each per day. Hope to hell they don’t start drinking like @Jetdro’s plants, I won’t be able to keep up

OHGA drank 2.4 gallons YESTERDAY!!! But they are also wicking into 6 gallons of soil Howard with NO SIDE BURNS!

IF they get decent sized, they are gonna SUCK THAT SHIT DOWN BABY…lol…

I could NOT grow OG hand watering, I would screw it up and could NOT KEEP UP with them…

I’m a bit surprised they’re drinking this much already, but then again they’re a thirsty strain in small pots, lol.

If they go more than a gallon each per day it’s legit going to be a problem for me. I can barely even walk right now without excruciating pain, let alone haul water through the house.

You have flipped right??? How far in??? They will not finish ramping up intake till stretch is over and they are in week 4 or so. Then they will ramp it up again weeks 8-10 packing weight on.

Can you not use a garden hose and pump to “bring” the water to the rez???

When I has 12 octopots going in my 10 foot tall huge ass Gorilla Tent…and plants 8 feet tall, they sucked 4 plus gallons each day apiece in deep flower. I had 2 30 gallon garbage cans sitting in a shower stall filled with water and a pump in the bottom of one of them. Use that cheap little coil back up garden hose they sell on TV, and was simple to walk hose to the rez, turn on the lil pump in bottom of the can, and fill the octos…QUICK LIKE!!!
Would have taken all day hauling water back n forth with a 5 gallon pail…would have needed 12 trips!!!

It’s day six now, I think. I could get a faucet adapter to run a hose… Might look into that. Might even have some left over from my fishkeeping days around here somewhere.

Off to go look!

You do not let your water “sit out” a bit before usage???

Usually I do, but I don’t think it’s critical. I do it more for temp and to ensure thorough mixing and pH settling before adding it to the rez than anything else. I’m already adding chlorine (pool shock) on purpose, so I’m not particularly concerned about that aspect.

Curious why you brought that up, though?

Because I believe it is crucial!!

But then again, I am not PH ing my water, or filtering it…NEVER DO…just let it sit min 24 hours (chlorine)

I meant, what led you to think I didn’t? Just curious

That and what you just said…PH stabilization…do not want PH flucuation for 2 days after putting into my REZ’s

Just had a picture in my mind of the hook up to faucet then going directly into the rez with it.

IN MY REZ’s…soon as i place it in the REZ…plant has access to it, instantly.

Thinking now in yours…it sits in REZ till you send it up…that is different . Could flll rez with hose at light off, let it chill all night long…
