Humboldt CSI Plant Guide

Idk man I’m not familiar with the other products and what they may be lacking. I’m surprised you found burn from the neptunes. It’s kind of hard to over do it in organics. I’d lean more toward some deficiencies from the other stuff you’re using.

I suspect the Notso x chem issues (back right corner) are mostly PH related. I goofed and ran out of pots and ended up using a fabric pot (rest are plastic) so its has been drying out quicker and has had the most moisture fluctuations.

The notso x triangle burns appeared within 6-8 hours after feeding with the neptunes so thats been my running theory for those burns. Tbh my pics dont show the burn that well except the full tent pic (front left). I have been going heavier on dry amendments than previous grows.

This is one of the notso x triangle leaves. Defoliated shortly after that full tent pic, before the individual plant pics

Either way appreciate you sharing your experiences with us and the grows. It’s helpful!

I will add that have been feeding heavier than i ever have. I first noticed very slightly burnt tips on all plants within the last month and havent dialed anything back.

I wouldnt say any of them are overly sensitive to nutrients but the headband (notso) crosses seem to be a bit more sensitive to over feeding than the rest.

If i run the clones of the notso crosses i have next run I’ll probably try feeding like 10%ish less than this run

I finished up two tk x sweet 16. I had to take them down a bit earlier than I’d like. However, the smoke turned out with a nice strong slow me down kind of herb with a super sweet fragrance. My wife who doesn’t smoke makes bad faces when I come in from having smoked a bong in the other room. She is a good sport but I always know it’s good when she looks offended

Hey @DanOg !! sweet 16 is one of Nates go-to-strains - please give report on it - worth running ??? Taste ?

I have not run the straight sweet 16 but the tk cross is amazing. I ran two plants and they both smelled the same. I am not good at communicating the odor, but they were very sweet and pungent. I harvested them about three weeks early due to a hurricane. Even early they were very potent. I have a few other crosses with sweet 16 in them that I will be running soon.

A sea of threes on this TK s1.

I found one with a little finger that made a 4 but then went right back to making threes.

Not sure if it means anything but this one was the favorite from 3 packs (15 individuals). Re-vegged and recovering from a round of cuts.

Hey a cure doesn’t bring out skunk thiols. They actually start decreasing within the first week and lab study shows steady decreases. If you don’t smell the thiol in veg then don’t get your hopes up for it to intensify after harvest.
Lemon and pine terpenes also mask the thiol you want. So steer clear of those if you’re hunting the skunky burps

Ive had a few strains that started out fruity with an underlying skunky funk and probably 45-60 days curing in jars they started to smell skunkier as the fruiter odors faded. The more
memorable example, mango smile, surprised me with how much it smelled like skunk spray after starting out like tropical mango. Purely anecdotal though

How right you are about “thiols” here is what I might do - increase sulfur once in flower - but in middle flower weeks 3-5 (Silver Bullet by Nature if Life) been reading about thiols recently /always learning @Mothballhaze thanks for your information - thoughts on the sulfur thing? sulfur will give a acidic taste - know that Humbolt County Own one has a 98% sulfur boom additive included in their "line’

No matter what you’ll add, if it’s not there, you won’t make it appear.
All the talk about sulfur, it’s the same as any amendment you add, it will enhance, not create.

I got chem d x with sweet 16 in my last order. I think it was one of the many freebies. If you express interest in sweet 16 crosses I’d bet you can say so in the order notes. I have too many seeds to go through but I’m going to have to try some more Sweet 26 soon

I don’t think those old growers were adding sulphur to get the skunk bud. It was in the genetics. There’s no magic additive

People refuse to accept that genetics just got watered down by unprofessional seed makers.
Everything still exist, just need to find the specific plant that hold those keys, breed them, stabilize, repeat, no one is doing this, so meh plants and smells it is, have fun
