Even replying to this thread gives me stress/anxiety…I just took this reading and haven’t even taken my Lisinopril yet. Anyways I’m done worrying about it.
Btw, back in the day my mom was a registered nurse at Cook Co. Hospital and back in the day she wanted to teach me how to use those old school mercury blood pressure gadgets but I said no that’s ok, I’m fine…I should’ve taken her up on that so I can check my own BP the old school way.
This stuff really grinds my gears! 9-10 years back I had severe stomach issues and had been everywhere trying to figure it out but no one could tell me em anything and they hooked me up to every machine and the ultrasound like 15-20 times, nuts! So my doctor passed away (was like 75-80) and I got a new doctor . He says have u tried Nexium blah blah blah blah I could see it helping you and we should know within an hour or so. After years and years of phantom pains, severe pain, discomfort and anxiety I’m like SURE! Anything is worth a shot, He says go get a drink/snack and come back. Come back 25 mins later and felt great, the discomfort was gone, and I was even less anxious. He’s like I think we have a winner. Says “come with me…… “ we go out to his Beamer and he pops the trunk starts handing me boxes. I’m like “huh? What’s all this?” He says they sent me a little. He handed me a NO JOKE! 4 year supply that day, everything he had. I learned after the stuff was ridiculously expensive as well and he knew I had no coverage at the time. I figured it was at least 10,000$ worth of stuff (to me at least) all these other people with no coverage, the way the US health system is etc. and these guys are just getting rich and having stuff thrown at them that I’m sure they don’t distribute properly and I highly doubt most give anything free smh
I’ve found most docs to be ambivalent about drug reps. I was in an apt once and one showed up and he was like “yeah yeah go away” “but here’s some free stuff “yeah yeah go away.”
It’s a necessary evil in the business. I’ve gotten free stuff too when I was between insurance. Drug pimps.
Worked amazingly, I credit this stuff with basically saving my life as I was coming up on giving up altogether it was just too much pain, suffering and that lead to non stop anxiety and even more discomfort. That doctor as well, amazing! Has helped me in so many ways . Only took me like 35 years to find one I liked . (Well besides my original who passed)
I drink SOOOOO MUCH COFFEE ITS ridiculous, tbh probably the root of some if my issues, but I love me some freshly ground beans and a nice warm cup of fresh coffee! besides cannabis my only other addiction
Both causes high blood pressure…I use to drink Overdrive from Hills Bros…its up there caffeine wise…I can find that brand here out in the country just in the big city of Chicago.
@PhilCuisine Hey friend, if I were you, I’d start by taking my own body as a lab. First off, two to three weeks without salt, constantly measuring BP. Once a reasonable result becomes clear, I’d reintroduce salt slowly… same with booze and processed foods. Wish you the best and, yes, I too would begin to question and doubt what doctors tell us…
Guess what I haven’t had alcohol or smoked dope since Fat Tuesday 3.2.22, I also have up meats on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday…I don’t really cook with salt and I cut down on process foods…I’ve been eating a lot of veggies and cut down on fried foods…I lost 20 pounds since Fat Tuesday and I plan on losing more…I know I can do it, I’ve done it before…
Hell, I have Champion dogs winning 1st. 2nd. Place in Conformation shows… If I can shape up a dog for a show competition I surely can shape up myself. I’ve watching my food intake lately too…I’m thinking of quitting coffee and green tea next, maybe.
I told my doctor I can do this…All my life I’ve always said to myself Once you give up, you admit defeat…I have not given up and I’m surely not defeated folks.
I’m at least debating full blown stopping alcohol… Can’t keep marinating my liver in booze and pretending to lead a healthy life, as healthy food intake. Just bought two cases of beer… planning on keeping one in the fridge, yet never opening them… One has to find weird options at times…
When I lived in the Chicago I drank and smoked everyday and I was in great shape…my blood pressure was normal and every health check ups were great…
I had a colonoscopy lately it was fine, no polyps as usual…I also had bloodwork done 3wks. ago and everything is fine and dandy…my liver/kidneys were fine and I’m not a diabetic, thank god.
I will drink again when Lent is over but instead of drinking on Easter, I might as well fall off the wagon on 4.20.22…What’s 3 more days, I’ve gone this far without boozing/smoking so I might as well party on 420 Day…I will tell my doctor, just to let her know…
I have it. I take a small blood pressure pill. Don’t use salt. with the exception for tuna fish and eggs which I rarely eat. I also don’t drink alcohol or smoke anything but cannabis and only do that 2-3 times a day. No Caffeine. I use CBD daily by making gummies with RSO and CBD extract and Tit rate THC in the same manor. Daily works for me average 120/60-70 For me Daily exercise, cutting sodium and caffeine made a huge difference.
I just take my lisinopril and just live my life…talked to my doctor from the old neighborhood and he said stick to a healthy diet, change your eating habits and exercise u’ll be fine…there are way more people out the that have way way higher blood pressure than me.
Thanks @PhilCuisine, you kinda inspired me to be more rigorous with my alcohol consumption… after all, I should either use it wisely and learn how to do so or not let it use me, by simply going through total abstinence. A decent diet and exercise are crucial. I’ll be taking care of the latter soon; first things first… Have a great week friend…
If the one you take is Lisinopril /hctz, I hope you take it in the morning. lol
If I take mine later in the day I’m up all night going to the john. It’s a diuretic.
