Hypothetically “if it were my grow”

I will do that. I always thought that magic number was 18/6. Did not know it was ever an option 12/12 and still be able. 12/12 moving forward

Thanks

Okay, I will have to dunk a few regs then and manage the autos a little different.

Defintly will reduce the stress load of having to be stationary longer for current situation.
Thanks for that iinfo @jesuswearsflares and @misterbee

One issue with this style of growing for less experienced gardeners is the perpetual nature of the grow means you will have multiple plants at various stages of growth all demanding different feed schedules. For a newish grower it can be like juggling cats.

It can be mitigated against using soil as the feed and establishing a good root system and potting up in the early weeks. Basically let the soil do the feeding and just fed the plants in last few weeks or with an organic feed thats forgiving.
Alternately forget perpetual and just do 5 plants straight from seed to harvest so they all are at the same stage of flower. All the best

I like that the best, until I get more experience with different plants and the requirements.

Let me clear this up for you.

There are photoperiod plants and autoflowering plants.

Photo period plants rely on a short day length (light cycle) to switch from vegetative growth to flowering growth. They can be grown indefinitely under a long light cycle (18on/6off) and will not flower until they are given shorter days (12on/12off). They can be germinated under a short light cycle, and act sort of like an autoflower. They won’t start flowering immediately, but will when they hit maturity (usually 3-4 weeks from sprout).

Autoflowers don’t care about light cycles in relation to flowering. They go solely based on maturity and will flower under any light cycle (24on/0off, 18on/6off, 12on/12off). They also have a 2-4 week period after sprouting where they grow without flowering.

Photoperiod plants can be cloned and run over and over again. Autoflowers are one and done.

I totally understand brother… it’s very disheartening at times

If I were thinking about growing 12/12 from seed, I’d grow autos on 20/4 or 18/6 light schedule. Or (and I know this isn’t 12/12 from seed), why not veg for five weeks at 20/4 before switching to 12/12? You’ll get bigger plants at flip.

Good luck with your new adventure!!
I was looking at your favorite strain… your saying anything is good. I think if your clearer about the effects you like, we can help you with strain suggestions. No sense running any seed that you won’t enjoy the effects.
Energetic high, pain management, creative, sleep aid.
Some people prefer fruity sweet strains over fuel stank.

Thank you. I fixed that. I like the strains that works for pain and couch lock. I need something to plant my feet to the ground and ass to the chair.

Cats with spider mites. I’d love a perpetual grow but let me find a spider mite. :fire::fire::fire::spider:

I’ve found I much rather flip a tent and have a chance to scrub everything down.

I grew a London pound cake like this. Wreckage Master bastard kush, I’ve heard couch lock stories but all my plants turned out male. :disappointed:

White widow or gorilla glues crosses. I’ll be stuck to a couch.

I’m always hyping dumpster. Eventually someone on OG will makes some seeds if I get loud about it enough.

My first attempt at a grow was in Europe and I had some seeds that I tossed on side of housing. a few grew but cut soon after from fear. Seeds were lost during transition but the photo I took lives on forever. Thats before I knew females produced buds males didnt lol.

Ha, hoping the name doesnt represent the smell dumpster. Ill have to look that up.

And @AppalachianBiscuits with the experience for you!!
I’m pretty sure dumpster got its name because it was found in a dumpster

Woke up to find a few beans that popped.

Everything else is a little bit slower to open. Will get into some soil by end of day.
