Thanks!

I was, but not really anymore. I think it was just a clickbait scam to collect votes. I was actually really excited at first, but then they moved it back a few months, then another, now the time until the next effective is already running out to push it through with standard legislation processes, but the paper they released is actually ok (has done stupid regulations like Max THC content of 15% and such but it would work at least as a good start.

The big issues, however, are:

  1. They only address the consumption and possession. The big issue here in Germany is,
however, the license issue. With our current system they test only for thc degradation products in your blood. As for daily users it would take up to six weeks to get all of this or if you’re system even if you stopped today, that means that even if it’s legal they can stop any daily sooner at any time they please, force the rest, which will be 100% positive and then take his modernare away. To get it back, you need to go through a year long ordeal of getting summoned at random times and required to be at the facility in under 24h to get tested so you need to stop altogether for at least 1 year. And when you have passed all these tests you need to be interviewed by a psychiatrist and it is his sole decision based on his gut feeling, that you’re not the crazy, murderous drug-addict anymore that indirectly tried to kill innocent women an children, by driving to work in the morning sober after smoking aa joint venture bed. If they don’t change that, they can just as well leave everything as it s then.
  2. The driving license is the one thing, but the other is really the roadblock and a direct result of the then raging war on drugs. Back then, the US went around the world and put a plata o plomo approach to basically every state leader around the globe: you will share our Nazi view on drugs and follow us on criminalizing regular people that like to let a bit of the stress of the day go after the laptop is off and the kids are in bed. Everyday who did it, was graciously paid off, everybody who refused was forced with the shear threat of violence or other hardships to be inflicted on them (like trade sanctions). In the end, the EU signed a handcuff paper saying that none of the members may ever touch the drug classification forced on them by the US government and so even if Germany woke legalize the recreational use as laid out in their paper, it would violate EU law and so technically the German law rolls be illegal in itself. They would drag then before the court in den Haag and they sold be forced to take it back.

So, as positive as I was after the election, after really thinking it though, it would only work if you willingly violate EU law to protect your citizens and be ready for an ugly battle that could cost your career. No politician on earth could bring up even half the balls to even attempt that.

Just realized, that sounded very bitter and if we’re honest, a lot has changed since we were kids - certainly to the better!

You know, for me it’s not about the legalization per se. I have a chronic pain syndrome (unfortunately for real, not just für the card…) which makes it easy for me. I can buy it legally, ist it legally, even drive my car is I am not obviously so wasted that there’s no way I should operate machinery of any kind. If they give it in my blood and I act half decent, they can’t do anything, because for my it’s a necessary treatment to be able stay in the workforce despite my crippling condition.
Two other things are much more important to me here: first of all, it’s a question of principle. I think every adult should have the right to engage in any behavior, and do what he wants with himself or to himself. Period. If you wanna drink, drink. If you wanna trip, trip. If you wanna snort coke, smoke foil, hell, even if you want to keep your days locked up in your bathroom and speedball from dusk till dawn, go for it, I really couldn’t care less! Doesn’t bother me at all, as long as your condition does not lead you to invade anybody else’s space or violate their personal bounderies.
The other thing is, of course, growing. If everybody was allowed 4-5 plants in his house or garden, that would hurt nobody, in fact, the world woke be a better place. But even if they really should find the balls to take it up a notch with the EU and push the legalization through on national level, I am still not allowed to. That really bothers me.
To me, cannabis is not a recreational drug. That woke be an understatement. It can be. But that doesn’t do justice to it. For me, it’s a sacrament, a grace, a passion. It’s the most versatile plant in the planet and had been used for tons of things for tens of thousands of years. That we have documentation of. It’s a lifelong passion, journey, learning experience, that tests my severe illness without side effects, gives me comfort and positive, bestowes gratitude and introspect and you cannot embrace all of that with a preroll from a coffee shop. It deserves study and praise and imho you can only fully embrace its greatness, if you know and love the plant and deal with it everyday. Simply enjoying the drug effects and not think more if it is the essence of our degenerated society. Only the true afficionado, by working with the most holy being on this planet on a daily basis, can discover get real potential and allow all the merits the offers into his life.
Fell in love in 1997 and despite all the shit the authorities dumped on my life on various locations simply because I enjoy a plant and its merits, have not looked back.

Well, since so many states are legalizing in the USA, it’s bound to eventually get legalized federally, and then the EU can follow suit. It’s a matter of patience.
This year Thailand legalized as well.
Without a doubt it is spreading!
A positive trend is happening.
And that’s what matters.

There’s so much pressure on the economy now, more and more people realize that legalizing is a benefit, thanks to the results of the legalized countries, but education and info spreading takes time, that’s all.

I did not see your reply until just now… Congrats on the three and a half years! I never thought of it like having a service dog but it really is like that. I sit and talk to these damn plants like they care about my problems and I end up leaving the grow room with little to no issues every time. It is my little Zen garden. Tuesday will make 1000 days alcohol free for me and I plan to hug the hell out of my plants that day

Fuck around and find out.

It also depends on how much you interact, reading time, how many likes you receive, etc.
So forget all about your status, make a grow journal and explore.
