I’ve never done a dry trim, but that seems to be the new thing…I’m gonna give it a try come harvest time. Exactly what you said, remove fan leaves and leave everything else. My last few grows had such crystaly leaves around the buds that I kept them and cured with the buds and smoked it…was just as killer as the buds.

Welcome @Tappy i decided I’m doing a dry trim because i live in the High desert And whenever i do a wet trim they dry out with in 3 days stems snap and buds crumble lol also dry trimming is said to protect trichomes I’m not 100% with all this like the reasons behind it but ima try it out

The way the leaves are changing color and if she has slowed on the water uptake, probably be ready in a week for chopping.

Amen to what shades said man it’s usually what I wait for they go through the phases of not drinking overly much but what they need, slowly pick that momentum up til they hit the motherfucker I’m still thirsty stage and then they just stop and when they stop I say ok chop time so I begin flush

In the middle of week 10
Fall colors i think i started the flush too early oh well I’ll get it right next run trichomes still mainly clear hopefully she’ll cloud up by next Wednesday! If not then shit.
I let my sample dry for two days jarred it kinda experimenting with drying and curing haha i did a wet trim i figured I’d be able to try it sooner

Yeah wet trim buds dry faster, every time I see you post I am thinking he’s chopped it up lol.

no sir! Chopping early is a thing of the past! I’m also thinking about not trying to flush out all the shit that came out last time. She is clearly wanting nutes and seeing how they’re all at the bottom and not being absorbed i feel like what’s the point right?

Yeh may as well leave her to it, she is taking what she needs from the leaves so no point in flushing if she is not taking much nutrients from the soil. Once the plant starts its dying off process I think they take more from the leaves and less from the soil as its easier for them and why they use less water as well.

Good to know! Thanks man haha i did a flush before i said fuck the flushes and she was at 1300 so whatever lol you don’t NEED to flush with organic right. I’m wondering if I’m stunning her with flushes causing trichomes to not mature as quickly

No I don’t flush, some will argue to flush with whatever way you grow, there are arguments for both, but the latest studies I have seen, say its a stoner myth, once something is in the plant its not coming out no matter how much you flush and starve them. If you leave them until they die, they will do it naturally anyway as they use up whats in the leaves.
If the nutrients that go towards resin production are not abundant then that might affect them, but they will take it from the leaves anyway if its available. Just got to let them do it in there own way and time.

Yep once it’s starts it’s dying process no matter what you feed it, it will slowly stop uptaking nutrients. You can re vegg a plant by putting it back in 20 hours of light, but if left in 12/12 it will die no matter what you feed or do.

Today is 10 weeks
Past me is coming out saying “CHOP HER ASAP”
Present me is saying fuck no ya worked too hard on this to chop early unless there’s major problems i got fan leaves just falling off…self trimming i see haha
Majority of trichomes are still clear making me wish i kept on feeding her. I feel like she’s decaying some smaller leaves are yellowing on the buds i never had a plant do this i think i stopped nutes waaaaayyyyy too early maybe a week too early here is my sample a week later 3 days of drying 4 days in a jar
But we got some grinch fingers haha
Also still got bananas poppin out but I’m plucking as i see em

She is fine, she will just cannibalize what she needs from the leaves. It wont take long for the trichs to go milky once she starts.

Came across a video called 1 minute grow tips on trichome ripeness. And comparing i think i got a day or two left i saw 2 amber heads on a bud in a cluster it’s kinda hard for me to tell when trichomes change i guess lol unless they’re clearly amber
