I hope it heals up fast for you buddy, how did you get mites so fast. Must have been the soil.

Thanks guys! Haha that’s what I’m assuming i store my soil in the garage in a plastic Rubbermaid container so that’s my best guess. I’m going to toss out the soil i have now clean the hell out of the container and keep it in a closet

If you have a place to “solarize” it with sun or a small amount in the oven, that will zap everything. I’m sure there’s other stuff too. Don’t just toss mites in the municipal green-waste-- BURY that shit! :scream_cat:

& obviously… don’t put in your compost either, unless you’ve got a super-duper 180F composter.

So I’m going to try a few new things with these seedlings

1 being 3 smart pots 3 plastic pots.
2 trying out foliar feedings.

I have some dr. Growth by cultured biologix it’s suppose to promote plant growth 1 feeding as a soil drench and then once a week as a foliar it came with my cultured biologix sample kit and on top of that i will be foliar feeding bloom kahos after I’ve started feeding bottles because bloom kahos needs Herculean harvest to work or my plant will show me deficiencies when really it just couldn’t feed the BK.

Also 3 days since the discovery of mites just spraying once a day for the next week then just to be safe spray em down once or twice a week for precautionary measures

Well folks looks like i found my pesticide of choice.

Mercenary by cultured biologix.
And i actually diluted it more than what it says on the bottle and while i love the smell it’s clear that the bugs do not.

Once i discovered A hole in the leaf i looked underneath and saw black dots about 6 of em that was enough to confirm mites i mixed up some mercenary and hit it in the morning then again at night repeated the second day now just once in the morning and I’m seeing no further damage and no black dots

I also forgot to mention I’m noticing the plants on the left are more so under my 150HPS and the right side is my “shitty” mars hydro 300. I put shitty in quotes for they clearly prefer the LED as the left plant is trying to reach over lol and i just don’t have enough experience with lights to have knowledgeable opinion and other than what I’m seeing Which is fuller plants under LED.

Anyway we got some droopy fucks probably just over watered

Well we got the first set of true leaves lightning up so i guess i should start my bottled feedings

I believe the schedule is 2 weeks each stage

Seedling, early veg, mid veg, late veg. Into bloom early mid and late and flush. Yeah 16 weeks if plants get stunned or you want to veg them longer you’d just repeat late veg until 12/12 cycle so that makes sense. I’m going to start the early veg schedule today. Since it’s been about two weeks. But first I’m going to hit em with some. Dr.Growth it’s got a N rating of 8.

I THOUGHT I WAS DOING GOOD i watered yesterday dr growth and today they’re all bone dry so i watered this morning plain water at 6.0 with SLF100 i add it to everything.

I watered 2 and was like ok I’ve got some hydrophobic soil i watered and it stayed on top then sucked down really quick and drained out the bottom. I squished the bottom of the cup crunch crunch

Well then so I’ve done something i thought I’d never do…added water to the pan for bottom watering.

MY BABIES.

In all honesty I’m going to do what i can to save them but if i kill them lessons learned I’ll start with new uncontaminated soil and probably the same strain

Looks like i made the right call

YES VICTORIOUS bottom fed to combat hydrophobic soil success plants are praying now

Coming up to a transplant soon still gotta get soil and 1 gallon plastic pots i should be able to swing about 30 bucks by Monday.

The plan then is to transplant And hit them with some Dr.root maybe hit them with a little more one shot or just water enough dr root where the next day i can give them a full feed. As you can tell I’m scared I’m going to have the same problem as last grow where my reserves in my soil were too low causing me to play catch up

Once your soil is sucking up water from below it should be not so hydrophobic next time you water from the top.

Yes sir I just gotta stay on top of watering :+1::+1:

Back on track! I’m kinda proud of myself instead of panicking And coming straight here i took my time and thought about it i thought it was over watered because i was giving about 10ml everyday or every other day. Well they’re getting bigger they obviously need more water. Got it they’re under watered then thought how do i fix hydrophobic soil…i can get a wetting agent like nectars yucca extract or go against things I’ve learned not to do. And that’s when i gave each plant about 6.0 pH water with SLF 100. 50ml each and poured the rest of my water in the pan for them to suck up.

So last night i was admiring my accomplishments. And noticed some new growth is lookin light on the tips lack of nutes? Or just new growth i decided to give each plant 100ml of the early veg feeding schedule which Is just about everything in the feeding schedule. After transplant I’m going to foliar dr growth the day of transplant and give a full feed.

I’m planning Monday that I’ll get some pots and new soil and probably a new container to hold the soil and keep it somewhere in the house.

Which brings me to a question about storing soil. When anyone stores soil do you keep it in the house or in a shed or garage something of that nature. And if you do keep it in the house does it attract bugs?

I was keeping it in the house but since i live with my mom she was worried it would attract bugs in the house. So i put it in the garage where it stayed all winter. Can mites survive in cold soil?

Also no more mite damage

I have done all of the above. As for bugs, yes fungus gnats love damp soil, so you may attract a few. I’ve stored outside with mixed results, got thrips from it last round.

Yes the eggs can “overwinter” and survive low temperatures in a dormant state.

I ran to the hydro shop yesterday got a new bag of soil 3 plastic pots and a tea? Lmao i asked what would be recommended for mycorrhizae. He saw i had nectar #4 soil and Herculean harvest and goes trying to do organic? I said yes I’m tryin out nectar he comes back with this

Mykos with microbes? When i first posted i didn’t know glomus were fungus or mycorrhizae I’m not sure the difference but i know bacillus are microbes and kelp helps with roots I’m low key really excited to try this out lol
