Jim's first OG journal-Bodhi, Cannaventure, Shoreline

Hello OG community. I just started some new seeds and figured it’s the best time to start my first journal.

Growing in coco, with General Hydroponics flora trio and cal-mag. This is only my second time growing under LED, so if anyone sees any issues, please speak up.

I put 4 Mother’s Hashplant (Bodhi), 2 Crippy (Shoreline), 2 Raspberry Pebbles OG and 1 Blueberry Runtz (Cannaventure) in paper towels 48 hours ago and all had tails. It’s been awhile since I’ve grown from seed, so I’m hoping for the best.

I plan on pollinating something with something, but I don’t know what yet. I’m hoping for a decent looking male from the Crippy, but if not I’ll probably use some STS spray and make some fem seeds. Either way, there should be plenty to give away. Thanks for having a look, I’ll try to update regularly.

Sweet sounding lineup. I have Shorelines Bubblegum BX1 and Grape Punch cuts and I just ordered a Triangle Kush clone from Rusty at Cannaventure that should ship next week. Hope you have a great grow with these.

Some fun strains, good luck!

All the best for your grow @Jim, you’ve got some interesting strains there, and it’ll be an education for me seeing you use coco and STS, watching this one mate.:+1:

Don’t tell me that you’re that dude next door who is a grower, are ya?

Thanks for stopping by everyone. The well wishes are appreciated.

Just a quick update, 3 out of 4 of the Mother’s Hashplant are up, 1 of the Crippy is up and 1 of the Raspberry Pebbles OG were up, but it fell over and died. With a little digging I noticed that the taproot got stuck in the seed shell and couldn’t grow out of it. I’ll see what happens by this weekend and germinate replacements for anything that doesn’t make it

Well, I got impatient and did some digging, and everything that wasn’t up is dried out and dead. I let the pots get too dry. It’s kind of frustrating because I’ve had 100% success rate popping seeds up until now, but it’s totally my fault. I guess I got out of practice growing clones on my last two runs. I have replacements for everything except the Crippy.

So now I have 1 Mother’s Hashplant, 2 Raspberry Pebbles OG, 1 Blueberry Runtz coming up to room temperature before I put them in paper towels. I also have 1 (Shishkaberry x Old Widow) x 88G13/HP from Bodhi to replace the Crippy. I haven’t seen anyone grow that one yet, so maybe I’ll find something interesting.

Hope the next few seeds fare better, fingers crossed for you mate!
I love to see some Bodhi grows, I’m a huge fan of his selections, and as he says, Plant more seeds!

If you havnt already, I’d stick a some over them to keep humidity really high, prevent any dry out.

Apologies if I’m just saying stuff you already know!

Please, any advice is welcome. I think that’s a good idea. I usually plant in solo cups and they hold more coco and moisture. I have a bunch of these little pots so I figured I’d use them, but I definitely need to water them more often

I would just try to keep the humidity up high while they are so small, don’t worry too much about watering, if you have a dome over them they won’t dry out anywhere near as quick.

When you know they are watered, give the cup a lift and get an idea for the weight of it when it’s saturated.
I usually just do that, and then every other day give them (and the inside of the dome) a misting to keep the moisture in the air around them. And only water them when I notice the cup is feeling light enough. I am in Soil though, so water retention rates will be slightly different.

This is what I use for individual pots, but you can just use a bigger dome over them all…

I also only fill the pots half full, so as the seedlings stretch I top the soil up around them and Bury the stem, this helps stop them falling over if they’re weak, and also allows them to put out extra roots from the stem once its burried

Yeah, that’s one of those things that I’ve read about but never tried. Here’s where I’m at now, I think I’ll have enough empty water bottles by the time the other seeds pop up

Hey, everyone. I ended up putting the Cannaventure seeds to the side for now and ended up popping a few different Bodhi strains instead. I still have 2 Mother’s Hashplant that survived the first attempt and now I have one more seedling. I also have 4 of the Shishkaberry x Old Widow and 4 Purple Lemon Thai. One of the PLT started off a mutant, so it’ll be interesting to see if it grows out of it or not.

These have all been up for about 4 days now and they seem to be growing pretty quickly. I don’t know if I prefer these small pots over the solo cups or not. The seedlings seem to pop up quicker, but they dry out way faster too. I’m using the humidity domes as suggested by @SonsOfAvery and I’m still having to water daily. I’m going to pot them up into the solo cups once they have some roots and keep them there until I’m able to sex them. Hoping for 6 females

Hey, everyone. Everything’s moving along nicely. I’ve got everything in cups now and they seem to enjoy the extra space for the roots. The two older Mother’s Hashplants are topped and I have the tops in a separate tent for sexing.

I noticed some tacoing on the Mother’s Hashplants. It seems to be isolated to only this strain, so maybe it’s just a trait that it has. My environment is where it should be, 79f/60% humidity, so I’m going to not worry unless it starts to cause a problem.

Thanks for having a look everyone. Have a great day

Hope everyone’s having a great weekend. Quick update for today. Most have been topped, with the tops put in a separate tent for sexing. I have one confirmed male from the older Mother’s Hashplants. In case someone hasn’t seen this yet, you can get a plant to show sex before it’s even rooted by putting a cutting under 12/12 lighting schedule. You can see this one has a few small roots starting, but has already started growing male parts.

A growth pattern that I’ve noticed on the (Shishkaberry x Old Widow) x 88g13 Hashplant. The branches want to grow out of the nodes a little higher, almost on the main stem.

The mutant Purple Lemon Thai has grown out of any odd shaped leaves. It has 2 mains, one has staggered nodes from the start and one has 3 leaves at every node.

I also got all my ingredients for STS spray, and started a couple of Mendo Breath clones for reversal and pollination. I think I’m just going to hit a few branches on everything for some fem beans of Mendo Breath crosses. Hopefully there’s enough to go around. I’ve never reversed a plant before so I hope it works out. Have a good rest of the weekend everyone!

I’m about ready to put these girls into flower. Everyone is in their final one gallon pots. I ended up with 2 Mother’s Hashplants, 2 Purple Lemon Thai, and one Shishkaberry x Old Widow Hashplant.

I was able to go to Colorado with my family for a long weekend and I was able to pick up a clone of gg4. I needed one more plant for this run and I’ve been wanting this one for awhile now so I had to grab it. It just needed a spray for thrips, and it was good to go.

Two weeks ago

Today in it’s final pot

I also started spraying a Mendo Breath clones with some STS spray, hopefully it takes and I can get some feminized seeds to trade and give away. So far no burns so I don’t think it’s too strong

Day 14 of 12/12. Lots of stretching and filling in the grow area

This is the one that started out as a mutant. It has grown out of it for the most part, and it’s clone looks completely normal

I was about to give up on the Mendo Breath clone. I saw a lot of hairs and no pollen sacks, but then yesterday…

It looks like it’s going to work out. Hopefully I can get some viable pollen from these

Great progress @Jim, all healthy and filling out the net, well done with the reversal too👏
