Jinglepot Showcasing the Mars Hydro FC-4800

Brother what kind of heat is coming from those lights. I been interested. The sp3000 run hot. Their lowest temp is 85f/ 29.44c
What’s temp to you run ac to get that temp?

No AC at all fir my tents. Just lights and heaters. At max power at about 6" from the light it was 25.1°C. The light is so cool I have to add heat. I’ve never had that before with my lights. It’s always a struggle keeping it cool for me, heat is easy

Thank you brother. Like I said, I run the sp3000 and these things are hella hot @ over 100f on 50% power. That’s too hot bro. that higher efficiency really matters. I’m think I’m going to invest

I have nothing but good things to say about the Mars Hydro FC4800. I am pleasantly surprised at every turn. I can’t wait to see what I can do during flower with it!

Plants are pretty happy, really green and growing fast. Slight clawing on 2 of them, im hoping it’s just a little nitrogen toxicity. I gave them a silica feeding with Emerald Harvests Root Wizard. No 3 part nutes for this watering. We will see if she straightens out a bit.

I really want another net like my Holy Crack tent has. The squares nets in my Mars Hydro FC4800 tent are too large and not as good for training.

Here are the control group girls under my HPS they are all happy and the bottom bramches are almost all caught up to the tops, I have a large scrog net that will go over them soon. Contrary to the yellow light tinge, these plants are just as green as my Mars Light plants. The bottoms have caught up quicker, but that’s to be expected from the HPS stretch.

Plants are looking great! I like seeing the comparison of the plants under different lights. I’ve tried a wide variety of LEDs and found I am severely indoor growing challenged, but have always been apprehensive of trying HPS.

Thanks!

I’ve used MH for veg and HPS for flower (and sometimes veg when im out if room, lol) exclusively for a decade. I needed to run the same plants on the same feed schedule under the LED and the HPS partly to ease my mind if I run into any plant issues, but also for growth and finish comparison

Here is one if the plants from my HPS room. I took it outside for pictures as the HPS always makes them look so yellow in the pictures, lol

And the ones under the Mars Hydro FC-4800

Big things today! After giving them a good drenching of straight 6.0 ph water the other day to make the soil good before I butcher them. Snip snip snip! My philosophy when pruning, lollypopping in this case, is there are no mistakes, just happy little accidents . After i pruned them, I took the smallest plant as my benchmark and tied down all the others to that height. Tomorrow I will give them a 100% heavy growth feeding. Tops! Tops! Tops! Lotsa Tops!

One of the huge differences I noticed between the plans under Mars FC-4800 LED and my Gavita 1000w DE HPS lights is that the branches on the plants under my LED are WAY stiffer. Almost no flex to them, rock hard they could support the weight of all the bud effortlessly. The bramches under my HPS lights are much more flexible, weak. Another huge difference is the node spacing and branching growth. Under the LED these guys are absolute shrubs. They almost looked akin to monster cropping. I love it!

Before, after and finished plants under my Mars FC-4800.

Here’s the control group under my HPS before, after and finished.

Big pile of clippings… looks like after i have a haircut… speaking of… :haircut_man:

Its gonna be great! I’ve got brand new bulbs I’m putting in my HPS lights when I flip them to flower to give the closest comparison values to my LED.

Cool birds. :chicken:
I’m curious about the pecking order. How do they get along with the cat?

The cat and birds are friends… these turkeys are too dumb for organizing anything like a pecking order

Alright! It has been a few days since the lolly popping and tie down lst. amd things are staring ti fill out! Ive ammended my last 2 feedings with blackstrap molassas and the plants are going crazy for it! Greening up considerably and praying to that light!

Here are the girls thriving under my Mars Hydro FC-4800!

Here is the control group under my 1000W HPS.
The HPS plants are definately lankyer, wovh helps filling out a canopy woth LST methods. I feel the LED plants would more benefit a topping method due to their unreal branch strength and bustier stature. The LED is making BEASTS .

Some in the HPS room amd outside in natural light shots.

those girls seemed to really like the molasses, looking very healthy.

These girls are filling out admirably after the haircut and tie-down! Both the Mars and my HPS are neck and neck for plant awesomeness. The HPS have their drawbacks though. They are hot. Like REALLY hot. It’s much more of a power sink keeping the room cool as well as the HPS are energy drains too. Also there are 4000w covering a 6x10 canopy. I would in a heartbeat swap all these out for the Mars Hydro FC-4800’s!
