Love. Pho!
This is looking quite a lot like lighting issues to me, considering the identical clones in my HPS room getting the identical treatment are doing much better. I did turn the LED up to 55%-60% for the last week to see if my issues progressed. They are. So today I turned my light back down to 35% to see if the problem corrects its self or persists.
Here are the ones that are in my HPS room. Contrary to the yellow light, they are in person, much greener than the 4 in the LED room. I’ve been flattening the tops using topping, supercropping and bending, with good results.
And here are the Holy Crack plants getting the exact same nutrients program that are now under my 600w MH. Granted, my Green Crack did get very root bound. That’s why I find the comparison between the HPS and LED clones a better comparison. These I’m just showing to show that it most likely isn’t a feeding program.
It’s nice to have control groups for a more stable test of a product. Helps me from assuming it’s a myriad of other things that COULD be the problem
Those samsung lbm diodes will make your plants use more Cal and especially Mag than HPS or blurple LED would. Big difference I noticed and temperature is also lower. Maybe that could help?
There’s something to look into! I very rarely use cal/mag. Also most of my grow areas are running 25°C-27°C during the day and my LED tent is running cooler around 20°C. Now that its cooling off quite a bit outside my LED tent temp isnt as warm as it was
Yea you can try to amend the CalMag organicly with Oyster shell flour for Cal and epsom Salt, lime, or lamgbenite for Mag and mix that with worm castings or compost
I have had the exact same issue, I cant seem to go above 25% or the plants start to bleach like Britneys hair! I got cal/mag in the feed, plus in the water…
Pz
Nice! Thanks for doing a comparison, looking forward to seeing how they progress
I turned my light down yesterday and am already seeing an improvement. At least now I know, I don’t have this problem with my HPS, but I’m looking forward to the extra power when I get into flowering!!!
I’m interested in seeing the difference in the finished bud . So if you raised the led as high as it would go and crank it up.then lower the light daily till you notice there stressed and keep it in the safe zone?
Maybe just to much tim the tool man in me run her flat out Billy .
I thought about that. I just usually find light issues to take a while to show unless it’s severe. And then I start second guessing if lts the light or nutrients or ph or any other number of possible issues, lol.
It’s all a learning curve for me
I know zero about led lighting but I’d more than likely have to try it just to see .
Be a good video for @MarsHydro
F. Y. I.
Last grow, I misjudged how tall my plants would get. I ended up at harvest about 9 inches away from the canopy. My lights were up as far as they would go in the tent. I turned the light down to about 80% or so. Never got any burn and thought the harvest was really good. No scale so I don’t know how much. It was probly my best grow tho.
Point being, there is a lot of leeway with LEDs. I usually go by putting my hand at the canopy for a minute, palm down. If you are not getting at least really warm in one minute, you should be ok as far as burn goes.
Also I have an Ice Cream Cake plant in my 4x4 tent. It’s about 6 inches away from the light and has been for a couple weeks. No burn at all. In fact, I would almost say they love the light that close. 80%. Same light Jingles is using.
It COULD be they are starting to stretch their legs, it COULD be the last feeding, it COULD be the fact that u turned the temperature up to 25°C or it COULD be that I turned the light back down to 35%.
Regardless, the turn around in 2 days is astounding. They have corrected the clawing, greened up substantially and had an unexpected growth spurt!
Here are before and after pics. 2 days apart.
After
I wonder if the plants have to be hardend off nder the led similar to putting plants outside in the sun
Not sure, im sure there would be some adjustment needed. But these have been under the LED since week 1
Not at that intensity thou, I wonder if you where to let the plants come back to normal, and tried it again if they would handle the intensity better
I added another net, raised the light and turned it up to 80%. I will monitor progress and report as necessary.
