Joheim's ongrowing madness

Going to vent completely off subject here a moment,

In every life there are days that everyone knows will happen, death being one of them, but this is not about death, specifically. You know, given that you didn’t die, that you will have your next birthday, your children will get older, and they will start their own lives, maybe again.

My son just had an interview for a company in North Dakota, FUCKING NORTH DAKOTA!?!? I know baby bird gotta fly, but just like his dad, we don’t do shit small. 14 hours away. I’m both proud, sad, excited for him. I hope I’ve done well to prepare him for life. (Mid rant update: he got the job [not a shock] already has a start date)

Fly on little bird, just come back to the forest every now and then.

Ok rant over sorry.
More time to focus on the plants… right?

Well, by looking at your grow, he’ll be just fine :+1:

He’s definitely your mini me! Hahaha!

He’ll do awesome man! It’ll be good experience.

What kind of work is he going to do?

He’s going to work for Bobcat in some sort
Assembly capacity to begin with.

That’s a great opportunity for the guy.
Empty nest sucks for about a month. Then it all falls into place. Your wife will need to be handled gently. It will prolly bother her more than it does you.
But it really is a great chance for him. And if it does not work out for him, I understand North Dakota is booming with jobs.

Part of me will miss the random outbursts of obscenities and accusations erupting from his constant online babbling, the other part will appreciate the lack of false alarms. I believe he going to do well.

Back to the plants. The bracts on these girls are getting fat! The white membrane on a lot of them is starting to show. Gotta check on the ones that were already bursting on the… GSCxBlack cream (I’ve been encouraged away from “Bruised Scout” as it’s a “girl” scout cookie cross… ghuh, I hate tiptoing in a kick the door down kinda dude) even the Blueberry are getting larger. I was concerned they would be small seeds because of the early pollination, but it looked like there will be some more normal sized than I was even hoping for. I’ll try to get some pics tonight.

I harvested the fem pollen from Fro-yo, first just straight flowers that fell, then a second round with the dried flowers crushed and sifted through a fine mesh I’d and say i got a fair bit

I’m going to pull my stash and start parsing out the rest! And go buy my wife some more icing bags… :grimacing: :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Checking in from the asylum, still waiting on seeds to finish up, damn they’re slow. The girls have eaten every fan leaf they had and it is starting to look like i schwazzed them. I didn’t realize there was nitrogen glut just after pollination. Let me get them cleaned up and I’ll try to get some pics up tomorrow.(well, today now, I forgot to got “post”

Over in the “Littles” tent, I’m about to put at least 2 photo girls into flower by dropping the seed run down to 12&12 to finish up and get the photo girls going. A while back I took cuts and fought my cloner to root out my MAC1 x Grape Stomper. Finally worked(although they were the only ones that rooted) but I’ve got 5 little clones looking to take off so mama can get her flower on.

I took cuts from MAC1 again. I’m hoping the 15 on 15 off method will keep temps down and DO up because I also got cuts of my favorite plant back from a friend i sent her to, so hopefully they all root, he sent me Sunday Driver as well! So fingers crossed we’ll have a nice winter harvest!

I hope you got your Ice Pie back, I really like that one. It did pretty well outside, it has so much frost you need scissors to cut it up and even then they get so gummed up you have to clean them.

Ooooohhhh! Is this the IP? If yes, can I grab a snip from you?

Yes, it is my Ice Pie :green_heart: come home! We’re only a couple days in the cloner so not much action, one of the cuts is a bit wilty, but I’m hoping she’ll pull out of it. I only NEED one to make it, but both would be nice, and a jump on getting her to a seed run of her own. Just got to thinking I probably need to check the rez’ Ph again.

And the madness has struck again. In another thread I’m reproing a line for another member and the numbers will leave open real estate so i started a couple more strains. One Erdbeer popped and 2 Flaming Cherries popped so we’re waiting to see who erupts from the coco!

Hell ya that’s awesome! Can’t wait to see the crosses!

Por supuesto mi amigo!

Just need some time with her. I was having problems cloning but I think it was the summer heat. I set a timer to 15 on and 15 off (that was tedious) to try to keep temps down and get my cloning game back. I’ve cloned from a stump and a single fan leaf before, and she was a strong cloner. So I’m REALLY hoping one pulls through.

On yet another off shoot of the madness, a number of months ago (July ish) i crossed Pura Vida to Shishkaberry and I was able to rescue the seeds from the summer decimation that was my grow. I’ve sent some to a couple people and one of them tried to pop a few with no success, which led me to doing an at home viability test of my own and pop a dozen to see what I get. I’m presently at a 66% pop rate, now we’ll see how many fully sprout out before I make a final call. So that’s up to a dozen more babies on top of everything. I am insane.

If nothing else it’ll be a small pheno hunt right?

Oooh! It’s about to start coming down around here. I got looking at my little starlet and got concerned because she had this yellow calyx on her. Thought to myself that’s a little odd, so I plucked it! Then just around the corner from it I see a partially open calyx so I start poking at it and, well, looks like I’m chopping at least 2 this weekend

Pretty sure the Blueberries need a little longer but
These girls look done to me!

Final count on the viability test of ShishkaVida
11 out of 12 sprouted, shucked their shell and were searching for the light. @SHSC-1 that Shishkaberry pollen performed nicely.

I now have 11 more babies… damn!

that’s great to hear!!

We are taking the final 2 plants down from my auto seed run tonight. I was concerned because she was barely budding when pollination started. It wasn’t a problem. I’ve knocked out a few in the trimming and they look perfect!! Even the pre-flowers are pollinated! No pics, sorry the plants look trashed. I’ll get some of the buds later but not the whole plant.

Well, I’ve had them down for a week and they’re still not ready to harvest the seeds. I went bucking them off the stalks and they’re not dry enough. So we wait. And get the next round going! I’m actually going to do a small viability run on all 3 of my crosses maybe even before the Blue Raspberry Truffle starts pollinating!
