Johnny Potseed's Hall of Genetics

I wouldn’t go through that again on a bet! I can do 2 or 3 strain crosses in my sleep…but that was a job I’d never undertaken if I’d known what I was letting myself in for!
I did it to make the ‘perfect’ strain for the wife and myself as medicinal and recreational both.

I have been curious about this when it comes to female pollen being put on to a female plant. I grew out a number of fem seeds made with Peanut Butter Breath pollen, and it seemed that they all had some pretty strong similarities with some subtle differences here and there.

I was not sure if this was random luck or just the strong female genetics taking over from the pollen used.

I need to do some extensive studying before I go head first into my CBD:THC breeding project so I can make good choices on what to cross/hit with what heh.

The PPP pollen isn’t feminized pollen cuz. It was male pollen so the seeds are regular not feminized

Ooh I know. I had just been thinking about the interaction between a female plant hit with female pollen compared to a female plant hit with male pollen.

This alone makes me wanna go pop the Frankenstein X PPP and grow them now. Even tho I seriously don’t have room…

I guess you could call me a heavy user now. I quit all pain pills and beta blockers so now it’s all up to my green medicine. I smoke quite a bit now but my pain and tremors are, for the most part, at a level I can deal with.

This is very good to know …

Any time you do a cross, the mother in the crossing will be what the seeds display as a general rule. there will/can be overtones of the pollen donor strain, and the F1s will be all over the place pheno display wise. But the majority will show mostly the mother’s traits. With hints or overtones of the donor for added, or detracted, in some cases. For instance when I bred Frankie she was awesome sized buds (picture my forearm from wrist to elbow) then the BlueBerry diminished the size, with no discernible difference in overall appearance.

This includes male pollen from the same strain as the mother? As in my case with Sour Strawberry x Sour Strawberry :strawberry: ?

I can expect more the mothers traits being expressed more then the Daddys.

Cause this would be great :+1:

pollen from the same strain is a different ballgame cuz. then you’re just re-doing the strain. there shouldn’t be any difference, added or taken away.

So pollinating the mother with her own clone that has had sts used on it would be a S1?
Do you think that will work to lock in that Juicy Fruit pheno on my GDP run? That’s what I’m hoping for obviously.

How long did you work the cross to stabilize her? That’s going to be the deciding factor there
The method/material used isn’t going to be a factor in this

Fortunately the seeds I’m making:

Mother: BOG Sour Strawberry F3 ( whorled phyllotaxy )

Father: BOG Sour Strawberry F2 ( Different source then the mother )

What do you think would be expressed more? The momma, Daddy or as you mentioned just end up with the same strain without any real Difference?

So cool to read. The no tolerance reminds me of some kushs. Some of my friends will build tolerance so fast that after half an oz it doesn’t work.
The Frankenstein sounds like it’s perfect for pain with no tolerance.
That’s awesome really great work.
The whole thing about not knowing what you were getting in to makes me laugh. I’ve had a few of those.
I always rotate my moms once they start getting a little over done.

I’m not a tech-language user type guy. i don’t know it all. If I don’t know I’ll tell you that and not try to BS ya. I DO know ‘some’ and will give info freely to the best of my ability and that’s all I can do.

I just started a bunch of strawberry cough dirty taxi seeds. I’ve been super excited about the fact that they resemble the strawberry cough mom. Thank you for explaining this also.
