Johnny Potseed's Mexico Vacation - Down Memory Lane by way of Acapulco...GOLD, that is!

lol I was wonderin about how the ‘tying off’ part would go myself! But he just held pressure and good to go… that was about the only place he had left. Under normal circumstances, I’d be f’off, do it yourself. But I watched this dude waste away over the last year of his life, and knew he wasn’t doing it for fun, but to kill the pain. So I helped any way i could.

edit… I mean like after all, what was the worse that could happen? He was already dead… final stages. And still worked, running a dice table on a traveling casino! I was a pit boss/bouncer for a bit there. respect & RIP

Update… Well, the girls are starting to stand up nice and proud. The last two that had tried to pop don’t seem to be doing anything else, so i might just cull them later. Not harm to wait n see.

When i repot, I’ll bury them down to about an inch below the leaves.

So now, I’m going to say we have 8 out of the 10 AG. I can’t wait to see how these gals do! :sunglasses: :+1:

I always try to hide those pesky stems on transplant too  With the training I do the less main stem below the first branches the better.

Why wouldn’t someone bury the stem? I look at em like tomatoes… And we know from bubble cloners that the stems can make roots just fine. Plant em deep, get rid of the stretch where its not needed.

Tomatoes planted “laying down” always grow amazing for me… More buried stem means more roots…

Looking good JohnnyP!

I’ve always done the same with my tomatoes as well as any marijuana. Works just fine, like y’all said lol who needs a longass stem sticking up before you got leaves?

Some people just don’t know and keep the top of the soil the same. I had a guy show me pictures of his first (failed) grow once. He had 2 seedlings on his closet floor with a single CFL in the ceiling fixture. The things were 2’ tall seedlings that would throw a tiny leaf or two every once in awhile on what up.

I’ve actually coiled the stem to fit down below the dirt on some that were stretchy. Just pop them bottom leaves off and go for it! lol Marijuana is a very forgiving plant when you show it love.

I knew a feller one time who plant cannabis next to a privacy fence. Just one plant. But he kept flopping her over as she grew. He ended up with about 10-15 branches along the fence line. Kinda cool to see that many seemingly individual plants, from just one plant.

That sounds like fun! Both to do as well as see lol

I may try something like that next Spring, just for shitz and giggles.

I was forced to do that in a guerilla grow in college once. All bag seed most were 4 to 5ft… one tall ass sativa just kept popping over the brambles though, think I tied it down 3 or 4 times, just running the “perimeter” of my little patch… her side branches were amazing…

@BigMike55 ,
I have joked about doing that in my green room. That way I could grow a 10’ sativa in an 8’ tall room. LOL.
If I had more lights I would try it.

I have considered dropping the floor in the room i use in the basement for just that purpose. :joy: If I end up doing seed runs on trees I still might. :joy:

Ok, it’s been 5 whole days lol since my last update. Here’s the AGs in the new homes, I put them into the 6" pots to give them roots plenty of room lol so far so good… I’m hoping for at least 1 boy here.

Do you plan on leaving them in that size pot till you sex them ?

They’ll be there until I up-pot to 3gal… sexing isn’t part of the plan, I want a boy or two! lol Once they show their sex, I’ll separate the boys into another room for pollen collection.
I’m retired, so here all day every day. I inspect daily anyhow, so I’ll know when they do start to show.

I love babies. So, much fun watching how fast they change.

To me, that really is part of the fun. And probably why I enjoy Johnny’s threads, there’s so many babies… If I lived down the street from Johnny I’d be lending a hand just to see them daily  lol

When they take hold and get going is an exciting time. Seeing a literal weed nursery like yours is so satisfying!
