“Both spectral regions induced oxidative stress, with 385 nm >405 nm.”
“In conclusion, the data demonstrate that the UV/visible boundary wavelengths cause significant biologically relevant damage in vitro and in vivo , including dark CPD formation.”
Despite where its made Gorilla is a good tent. I also am looking at a new light but really dont need one since my Cree CXB3590 kit from Timber is still going strong. I dont care if it offends anyone but buying American first and avoiding chineese products on all levels for all walks of life is my goal. However its pretty hard anymore but I will pay extra to not see money go to china when I can.
I have a Gorilla 4x4 Lite Line, about 5 years old now. It will have light leaks, the velcro fails and the floor liner has seen better days.
However, the zippers haven’t failed, but I’m gentle and guide it as I zip it up.
It’s held up so far so I figure I got my money’s worth. However… the heavier original Gorilla I also have seems much better in all aspects comparatively. I’ll be getting another when the lite line does need replacing. Or looking at the green heavy duty tent available through HLG Supply… forget the brand but i see one in use at my local retail facility every visit. Seems as solid as an original Gorilla.
The controller 69 is worth it but be aware it will not control the oscillating feature on their fans!! Will adjust speed but not oscillation.
Gorillas tents are by far the best but be aware of all the pin holes in them. Still wouldn’t get another brand. The extension is where it’s at specially If you plan on hanging a filter inside the tent!! Good luck and enjoy the process on your way to a full setup, once your dialed there isn’t much to do.
I’ve been holding off on new lights. Shit is so expensive and doesn’t really give that WOW factor. I want a “one N done” light. UvA, B and IR coupled with a full spectrum white. Kinda seems that all these light manufacturers intentionally leave out this or that, forcing us to purchase add on supplemental components. I kept digging around and I found this light.
It doesn’t have the Uv I’m after, but a solid light with high efficacy and it includes IR. So that left me looking for Uv. And AC Infinity has 11" and 16" bars that can be mounted on the metal tent poles, vertical or horizontal.
I just bought some ac gear and the 69 pro. So now I’m in the market for 2 new lights and Uv. Choices choices.
Thans good to know, I wasn’t aware of the short lifespan on led. It’s been a while but I do remember seeing a t5 and t8 uv lamps made with green glass. Something to do with the special glass allows the Uv to pass through it without loosing any, compared to say, glass plates on air cooled HID hoods. But from what I remember they were quite pricey and I’m apprehensive on mail ordering glass lamps.
How long do you suppose I could get outta Uv led diodes? I’m just looking for more shit I can plug into this new 69 pro controller. But honestly I’m a bit discouraged with the 69 pro, I haven’t even set it up yet and it’s already quite confusing regarding all these settings. I can’t figure out how to allow a drop in temp durring the dark while activating the exhaust to constantly bring in cold dry air from my lung room. 15 yrs ago shit was so simple, remember the box style environmental controllers that had turn knobs on them? Easy peasy, shit is way to complicated nowadays
I agree that fluoro is the way to go, I use a pair of these in my 4x4 in generic fixtures set up to their own timer to run 1-3 hours a day, hung alongside my HLG 550:
