Kashmir Crowdsource Testing

for Meesh’s plant -perhaps the screen has influenced the plant’s perception of sunset’s onset and dawn’s delay It seems the plant is almost finished and daylight hours are still at about 12 and a half for LA Nevertheless it finishes quickly it seems

Yes! I do have a Mediterranean climate here. Off the top of my head, at Winter Solstice we are just shy of 10 hours sunlight. If I start photos after the Summer Solstice though, they will prematurely bud then reveg, but I can plant seeds right at Winter Solstice and the plants will bud once the plant matures. However, since the day hours are so short and the cooler temps, photos turn out about the size of auto-flowering plants. I’ve found that when starting my normal crop, it’s best to start seeds outdoors anytime after the Spring Equinox for best results. I’m sure if I really wanted to start a second crop after Summer Solstice, I could use the gaslighting technique to keep them from prematurely flowering.

I do think some strains, like the Dragon’s Blood Hashplant or 100% sativas take a longer time to sexually mature like you said, hence the really late harvests.

@Herbie the Kashmir started budding one week after the Cheese. It started very early opposed to my other plants. I think it just hit max maturity, like @zephyr stated. Makes perfect sense. I believe my pheno has a shorter bud time than the pheno @ShiskaberrySavior has as well. Outdoor vs. Indoor are 2 different animals though. It’s hard to compare when light is being manipulated.

I’m not 100% sure but im pretty positive @Meesh. It looks like u have some bud rot starting. Id be disappointed to see the whole plant go to waste.

I just know how quick it can spread if nothings done.
Cheers

Another friends Kashmir, on her second run. I told him to sign up for OG and his response was “I can’t figure out how.” Lol. I think his response translated into English is “no, thank you, I’m good.”

Those look great what’s the nose on his/her plants.
How long did they take them?

I found a caterpillar spot on one that I cut off. Not surprised if I lose some, the buds are so dense. I’ll take another look though. Thanks

Moths are out up here. No spoiled buds yet. My potted plants were all seeded and root bound now, on top of things. So, No biggie with them, but I have three volunteers and one is @gramps and @Meesh sized! It’ll be hard to keep up but I don’t mind trying. My biggest is almost 7 feet and about as wide. The other two are about 4 feet, and 3 feet.

My Kashmir are so leafy that moths can’t get inside, lol… The one I call “cousin It”. She’s a shaggy girl.

I never go a whole season unscathed by something, but the net and the fans on temp timers have helped a lot so far.

Yep. Just went and double checked her. She’s gotta come down early. She’s getting some rot. Damn. Doesn’t surprise me.

When the buds are that dense it’s inevitable. I guess I realized that I still won’t have a shortage of bud, even when some goes to waste. I anticipated losses this time, so I’m not crying.

I should probably take pics….
But I’m only taking a break from damage control because it’s gonna be a long night  I haven’t had the time to give anyone the care they need.

So I’m checking the Kashmirs again. It’s been like 2-3 days since I even opened the tent and it’s DRY in here! Hot too; sometime in the last 24hrs temps hit 91. I have some other gear (Hunza Valley 91 f2s & others) and they look thirsty as hell. To be quite honest, I might pitch a bunch for having lower stress-response —But the Kashmirs however, look fucking fine! One had my eye for reveg (mainly because of it’s leaf shape and agreeable flower structure, but several will probably get ran again to be sure).

I don’t know shit about Kashmir (the country) — other than the John Oliver episode — but these things seem to be drought tolerant. Maybe not bulletproof, YMMV… but definitely tolerant.

Speaking of which, I’m probably gonna do the same to the males tonight (or by the end of the week) they’re all nearing 7wks (49 days today) — but I wanna reveg the males to see which will get frosty in the process and not throw pistils. May take that one/those few to act as pollen-donors.

I’m not really finding any gross, rubber smells as I smell em close. Most have faint sour fruit or pine. All are frosty as hell (I’m impressed). And I see some seeds forming in places I didn’t hand-pollinate (don’t worry, those seeds always go in the trash). Most produced spear shaped buds, one is a thick oblong chonk, and several have squat hashplant shapes with Narrow leaves… still not sure which will be the the keeper.

Anyways, lemme get back to it. I might post pics, might not. Just wanted to type out exactly what my next move with these are before I do em.

I have three going outside on the patio and I get almost no smells. I’ll never plant in pots again, so early. They’re all held back by the 5 gal pots and long summer.

Mine are looking pretty good, just small from the pots, and they all got seeded from a male Kashmir, and a Malana dad later on.

Mine were voracious drinkers and mostly stable. Any stress was caused by me by leaving them in full sun and small pots. They always liked the water. I wish I had put them in the ground now. The buds that I have look pretty nice and seem pretty frosty. The cousin “It” has a cola as big as a beer can. Bigger, if you count the mass amount of leaves.

5gal felt pot…

another 5gal.

This one is in a 3gal. felt pot.

They’re all but finished. I have to go back in the photos and get a date when flowering started. I bet these plants would do much better when planted in a natural environment.

I have seeds, so, if anybody needs more later on.

As usual, I’m trying to manage too many strains. I’d really like to grow them in the natural ground.

Me too! Guerilla growing in my state became next to impossible a few years ago… mostly thanks to RING cameras  I (& many other nameless growers) had one last good season for outdoor in my state when Covid hit last year — everybody was afraid to go outside. So now I’m stuck indoors under LEDs until either the apocalypse, another pandemic, or legalization…. And my bets on the apocalypse coming first.

As soon as my autos are down I will be dropping my babies as promised when @Worcestershire_Farms was kind enough to gift them.

My Kashmir is coming down tomorrow morning at 5 am. I’ll let you know what the fresh dry smoke is like in about 10 days. I have a client tmw so I’ll try and remind my man to get a few harvest pics.
