Nice!! I keep forgetting about that site. I think you or someone posted it before. I still want to get the Rio Negro and possibly the Nepalese heirlooms. He also gave me some Orions as a freebie. I think he said they were a hybrid with a Texada Timewarp cut he got from someone in BC. I haven’t been able to find any info online since I got them.
It boils down in the end to Greed. There are greedy people in every culture and government on Earth. Who will be responsible when the last rhinoceros gets killed? The Chinese who paid for the horn, or the African man who shot the animal? Both parties are responsible. Greed will exist as long as Humanity does unfortunately
Yeah, High Times was mostly a work of fiction. Rip offs were common there for stories, photos, etc. Photoshop… Adobe digital photo processing tool to manipulate photos. You can use it to watermark photos with copyright information.
So if your trying to produce seeds outdoors, wild hemp may be cross pollinating your girls. On the other note, those plants are naturalized to those areas, though they are hemp, there is potential in the genetics for Hardiness since they’ve grown without aid for 80 years. Maybe good for other cannabinoids, or bred with something to boost if desired.
I just remembered my friend said his family has been growing a local strain for a long time, Burnham red eye. I’ll try to get some details/seeds. Though on a search, I see someone saying that it’s His family’s strain, that was never released in its pure form, and it’s all imitations around the state. Sounds a bit elitist, or just promoting seeds that he may be releasing/reviving.
very true. I’ve studied up on capitalism and its roots in an attempt to gain some clarity on why we are where we are as a society within humanity. capitalism is and always was built on the tenets of the exploitation of human labour in the plundering and destruction of natural resources in the production of commodities to accumulate surplus value. yes I agree with you that greed is the root of the issue but capitalism as a system is built on pure greed. that is why it was created. it never was about advancing society as a whole, it has always been about advancing the desires of a few. and it is destroying our natural world.
For capitalism to work, there needs to be competition, but as a business, the last thing you want is competition. That why there’s monopoly laws, but big business always has ways around such things.
alright all you landrace monkeys, I dunno if you’ve heard of Angus and the Real Seed Company or the Potcast but this is an excellent interview all about landraces and the history of…
I’d love some of those beans, after many long discussions with reeferman about old school breeders association he finally admitted they were resellers for him and very well could have his genetics in reproduction. He has previously denied all involvement and claimed they were scammers. Seems he was just upset they took his work and he couldn’t do a thing about it. Both sides have a valid argument and story to why it all happened. I tend to believe the guy at old school breeders association at this point.
Just dropped in to this landrace webinar with a panel of very knowledgable and irie folks - it was called History of Jamaica & Caribbean Equatorial Sativas. Very informative and interesting. Lots of History on Lambsbread, Columbian, Indian, etc. They will post the full webinar within the next 24 hours. All free. https://canexjamaica.com/
@Instg8ter@Silverhaze I hope im not wrong this time. I think these vb-romulan were once from me (not wanna say anything with it). It uses vietblack from Snowhigh. Im growing Lowgeneration Vb side by side with Snowys Vb. Snowhighs are pretty selected for nice behaviour. Each pheno went exactly 13, 14, 15, 16 Weeks each. That was the Vb-pollination Spot.
So, i had a 1/4 Romulan - 3/4 Vb Cross from Snowy standing in this Spot too, was hit by Vb, so thats how there is now this 1/8 Vb-romulan. That romulan was simply one week earlyer it seemed, not too much earlyer, just a bit.
However, the biggest Difference is between my Lowgen vietblack and Snowys, cause different selection was done i think. The Lowgen take forever…
The real pure naam black that nevil and kanga were using. Quite different to any of the versions that go around on or off the market. Its the main plant at the front sprawled across the length of the picture
They throw 2 phenos, one a skinny small short leaf so called sativa-like pheno and a long larger leaf (but not wide) so called indica-like pheno. They seem to smoke the same to me overall. Most like the indica pheno better, but I like the sativa pheno better. None of them are tainted with indica, though most call Lebanese as indica. I would call them sativa. Ace also calls them sativa. As for the high, it is not that strong, more like old Mexican, though it can sneak up on you the first time you smoke it in a while. The CBD:THC ratios vary from plant to plant, and that changes the effects somewhat. More CBD will tone down the high, and less CBD will result in a more potent high. ACE did a review on their Lebby lines with CBD:THC ratios from 4 different plants and they were all varied on CBD to THC ratios. The hash made from larger stands of plants was pretty consistent though, then as now.
I was most impressed with the taste and smoke of the fresh bud from the Lebanese. I was expecting harsh weed like Morocco or Afghani which were made into hash to make them palatable. But the Lebanese bud is light and floral, and the smoke is very pleasant. You can smoke a half joint of the stuff and get a good buzz on. I have a high tolerance though. As for the 1970s hash from Lebanon, I preferred the red, which was more common and tended to come in later in the season than the blonde. At least in Northern California that was the case. The stuff we got mostly came through Europe from Army guys stationed in Germany that brought it back with them to Ft Ord or the Presidio Army bases. It was there one day, and then it was gone the next. It sold itself fast. All the Lebby I have grown was super early. August to early September finishing. Which is great in the PNW where we get early rains that ruin later maturing strains. Another reason I think of Lebby as a sativa is the more open bud structure.
As for the difference between red and blonde hash from Lebanon, the way they harvest it is to cut it and pile it on rooftops and dry it for a few days. Then they stack it in sheds and let it cool cure for several months. Then in the winter they process it. That is one key to Lebanese hashish that I was able to glean. The cold sift the hash in winter months at higher altitudes in the Bekaa Valley. So I cold sift my hash in a freezer using a modified ice cream maker. I posted the source of the design for that someplace else on this forum. Slit the sides of the metal spinning canister, wrap it in poly cloth and tumble several months cool cured buds. It makes delicate yellow fluff that makes excellent hash, and preserves all the terpenes. My Lebanese hash tastes like the Lebanese hash of old. My read on the red vs blonde was that they processed the blonde earlier to get to market sooner, and let the rest ripen longer and that they processed into the red. I am not sure about that though. It may have happened during the pressing process. Or they sifted it differently or with finer screens. I do not press my hash fluff. I freeze it as is. According to Ed Rozen., frozen hash will keep virtually forever. My brother says my hash reminds him of blonde Leb hash. To me it reminds me more of the red.
