Landrace strains - general thread

What about NORTH KOREA!! Anyone ever think about that for landrace seeds?? I believe they don’t even recognize mj as illegal. It is just a plant. (really not sure) but, I bet you could find some good landraces there. Now, all we need is a volunteer to go and find them, than bring em home. WHO SAYS ME??? hahahahahahaha

That poor people can’t even get out of the house without being wtched and followed, controlled and supervised in every aspect of their lives. Their “religious leader” it is a State/Creed way of living… All the while people can’t even get food, shoes or clothes. Let alones diapers for the babies. As an american if you go there, you’ll need to explain your purpose of the visit and most of the time they will escort you everywhere you go. I’m sure the thought has crossed some minds, but nobody will step forward, to defend our liberty, yes; but to go searching for weed seeds, i doubt it… LOL

Hello @TheBubbleKing

I think that discussion whether MTF strain is landrace or not is totally appropriate and I don’t see any reason why you could be disgruntled and feel aggrieved. Nobody is attacking you, it is @mig argues ad rem. Don’t you take this too personally?

On the otherside if you choose to react to @mig with ad hominem attack, sorry but this is not appropriate.

I’m sure it was just momentarily “short-circuit”.

So please let’s continue in civilized manner… We are trying to make OG discussions safe for wide group of people with diverse opinions.

Thanks!

interesting story of the Matanuska valley in AK! I think WAY too much attention and hype is given to strains of cannabis today.

People get all excited about Leafly reviews and what they read, but most of the posts are rating qualities produced by the way the cannabis was grown, not the genetics. With proper organic methods almost every strain will have excellent taste and buzz. People get all excited about some “glue” cut or whatever, and don’t realize they’re smoking chemie schwag.

A friend of mine, all excited about legalization, recently said, I just bought 10 seeds of something-or-other for $200, and I want to give you one. I"m like what, one seed? what will I do with that? I told her if you paid $200 you should grow all 10 at once and make seeds for next time. I don’t see much value in some “magical” cannabis seed.

Why do people think their statements gain validity when swearing…? I will never know.

Keyboard warriors… That is.

I am soon gonna have a project with some landraces, want to do a guerilla farm, and will do it with the seeds i am getting from the jamaican brickweed they bring here. Some people say it is from Colombia, and some other that it is from Jamaica so i dunno, in the end it’s gonna matter very little. Now pics of the weed and the seeds…

@MadScientist those “schwag” nugs look better than any brick weed we ever got back in the day. Ours came in the shape of a block. We’d pick the stems and seeds out, but it never came in bud form. Used a knife or razor to chop up and partake.

Just from the bud shapes it looks worth trying yeah? Looks like there is something in there worth keeping.

Looks like n hybryd… Comercial hybryds are so much popular n growed than landraces…Jamaican landraces in the Island are extinted allredy, o very close too…

Por eso creo que es mentira, pero igual vale la pena intentarlo, vamos a ver…

That’s why i think it’s a lie, but it’s worth trying, we’ll see…

you’ve got the tropical sun, it’s begging for some landrace sativas! No way to find out what you’ve got until you germinate. Those nugs look good enough to me.

Ok, so yesterday a older friend came by. He has been growing his whole life. I asked him if he could get me some mexican landrace seeds. He said they are 6-7 month outdoors and yeild 1-2 kilos per plant. He called it “criollo” or native. I told him to bring me a handfull of seeds. The seeds are from last year. Once i get them i will resend if anyone wants to try them.
