Let's go indoors, it's snowing outside!

So I topped them late last night and they’re looking wonderful already today

I am actually really impressed the branches have grown tremendously since last night about 16 hours ago

This is probably the most difficult grow I’ve ever had to do my entire life. The room is 5 1/2 by 10 ft… In one corner there is an old school radiator. Literally 80 in away from the closest plant. Fighting temperatures like George Foreman fights a championship match

If i actually finish this grow i should win an award. +/- 30 times a day i have to open/close windows. Move fans, adjust airflow . Did i mention i now live in an attic, and have NO THERMOSTAT in my whole apt. i have to suffer by waiting for the old lady downstairs to get cold or hot then crank or shut off the heat completely, while its 22 degrees BELOW freezing outside. i have to let in cold air from across the apt. and let it mingle with the hot air in here while traveling thru my kitchen…
once its tolerable temperature wise it gets pumped into the room with a turbofan… Bring IT ol’lady THE OG GOT YOUR TEMPS RIGHT HERE …

So I took a quick look and I have confirmation on two females in the room. There are a couple that already have alternating nodes which is another sign of sexual maturity. I’m trying to keep the canopy as even as I can right from the start and I think I’m doing a pretty good job. Because I am ready to go 12:12 but don’t have the money to repot just yet
I added a high pressure sodium light to the mix to help induce

even though they are both on 400 right now to test, i used my light meter on my cell phone and height adjusted so the canopy is +/- 40,000 lux

Even though these are all the same strain they are definitely not stabilized and I enjoy the wide variety of tastes flavors and buzzes. As you can see some of these Indica traits just won’t go away

And not quite sativa-E but definitely a blend in this one

looks like the Stone-ington blend is working well with the extra nutes. I like the aloe plant too

I can already see some of the taller ones that I believe to be males but I was messing around with my ballast two days ago and I accidentally left it on 300 w. At the same distance I was running 400. So I did get a little bit of unplanned stretching.
My usual routine is to run ceramic metal halide at 400 watts for veg , about a week before I’m ready to induce I add a high pressure sodium. And run them both at 300 watts for a week depending on the size of the plants obviously. And then I run a week of straight high pressure sodium to make sure that they know it is past summer solstice.
When they are definitely in flower I run to high pressure sodium bulbs starting at 400 watts each and ramp them to 600 watts each. That is a huge plus to the dimmable ballast. You can run them with different combinations of wattages and Bulbs throughout your grow to simulate Mother Nature, my best results were running 600 hps, and 600 cmh during weeks 3-5 for quick indicas or 4-7 on longer sativas 10wks. +. then swap over to pure HPS for the last 2 (IND) or 5 (SAT) weeks.

its actually right on the money for starting babies/seedlings holds water correctly, is porous enough for air to get to the roots. So far i would recommend Coast of Maine stonington’s Blend. However i did some research. according to them there is enough nutrients in a Single 15 gallon pot to run start to finish. It would prob. do as directed, although im starting them in #1 nursery pots (roughly 3/4 gal.) so some added love was needed. i added some micros to jumpstart the soil and it worked fabulous. I’m still contemplating on continuing with this or swapping over to Farmer Joes organics.
Overall 4.5 stars for stoney blend…
Love Aloe. use it for cloning, natural root stimulator ( will take clonex challenge  ) and i believe it adds to the plants natural defence systems! contains growth hormones and natural rooting compounds. Here’s a coot quote re: aloe " Aloe Vera: contains Salicylic acid is a plant compound which has been used as a rooting agent for over 120 years in the nursery industry. This is the compound that’s found in Willow trees which you might have run across in posts on rooting a cutting

So I went around deep digging and all my stuff and I found some old equipment and newts. I remember I loved this dynamite tomato fertilizer LOL outside it does wonders. My pH Up and Down are probably 15 years old in the pH Down actually has little red floaties in it oh no. The ph up looks fine and my Oakton pH pen actually turned on and read for a few minutes until the batteries died. So I took some of the wife’s hearing aid batteries which are the wrong size and stuffed them in the hole and they worked, five stars for oakton

the little sensor even has black stuff growing on it and I’m surprised that it calibrated to 7 but for tonight it works

I got paid today finally, off to the grow store tomorrow, now to decide which is most important. tent, fan w/thermostat, more cloth bags, soil, NEW ph up n down. maybe a ph pen sensor replacement if they still sell them. and id really like to try out these because im using city water for the first time … EVER

Its just an inline water filter but sounds effective.

yes you should be able to get probes for a hanna pen. ph up and down you can use vinegar/citric acid(lemon/lime juice) and dolomite lime/baking soda if you’re in a pinch

“Living tent to mouth.”

Welcome to my world!

These plants are doing fine.

Not surprised either.

What a day. What used to take me three or four hours took me about 12 today I think I’m getting old. But I did clean the whole room top to bottom today in preparations for flowering.

i still have lots to do, but for tonight im done, rolling a Cannon and passing out, maybe a dab of rosin for a nitecap
