Lettuce plants... systemic virus?

has anyone dealt with what seems like a systemic virus that hinders resin yeild and affects growth… one obvious symptom is the tips of branches are extremely spaghetti like… leafs are smaller sometimes with fingers growen to close together. overall plant looks weak light green… small flowers leafs and no resin

Not good. My conspiracy theory paranoia kicks in. Must be Monsanto.

hahaha… i mean… i fell its genetic possible also… not to the monsanto level but i feel it could be a breeding thing but it affects all strains! some more than others

It’s called TMV which used to be limited to tobacco.

Doesn’t take Google long to find its true.

Yikes.

This is not pretty

… viruses transmit in pollen and in seeds, and can live for as much as 50-60 years in grow room equipment, carpets, soil, dead plant tissue, and other materials!

What’s that? People used to call it the “Dud” disease. I call it the Mosaic virus which is what it is at the end of the day. Saw it the first time back when the Chem strains were first introduced on to the market.

GG4, and GSC Both carry it and give it the right condition and it will show it’s ugly head quick, and why I call them both shit weed.

OH, and stop calling me Google.

Thanks for that information, and thanks for the heads up.

I have seen some postings about it, but did’t pick up on the significance.

Thanks Wiki Canna Guy

im researching it now… so funny they haved had a “variegated” strawberry banana they avoid… its tmv forsure

Tell them you know a 40 year master grower who has seen it all. Need a consultant?

Here’s the part they won’t like. It is not curable “and” it can be bred in to other genetics so all these GG4 and GSC crosses that are out there. [Not to say that there are not any clean GG4 out there except that 4 was the number pheno] carry the virus.

It’s fairly well documented in some of my smaller circles, but there is some public info out there as well if you know where to search.
